Great county course. Make sure to arrive early to your tee time as they are very strict about timeliness.

Kish Cachola

Great traditional course layout and condition. However, you get treated poorly when there's a club championship that runs concurrent to your scheduled event.

This course is completely overrated and overpriced. First the conditions: Greens were bumpy and slow with dirt patches on many greens. Bunkers weren't raked and were in bad condition. Fairways were ok for the summer time but not great. The Design: Almost all the par 4's are doglegs to the right with a bunker sitting on the corner of the dogleg. Its the same boring layout over and over. The par 3's and 5's were good but it general there are many many other courses better than this. Including Charleston Springs. The pace of play: We teed off at 2:20 on a Tuesday. 2 hours on the front. 2 hours 35 minutes on the back. There were only 2 foursomes in front of us and of course we didn't see a ranger all day. Groups behind us walked off the course at around the 14th hole. The Price: $52 to walk for out of county plus $6 for the tee time. This isn't worth more than $35. Summary: I simply wouldn't play here again. Its completely overrated and overpriced as stated above.

Well kept course, staff courteous and efficient. Uniform shirts make rangers easily identify, they could use an upgrade and Bermuda shorts in summer. No cargo shorts

Great layout and course conditions. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great shape. The greens were challenging but very fair. Highly recommend.

Michael Cappo

One of the best public courses in the NY/NJ Metro area. A Robert Trent Jones design, par 72. High rough and undulating greens add to the difficulty. Don't miss it if your in the area.

I can safely say 'hominy hill' golf course was the worst golf experience I have ever had within the Monmouth county park system. I was charged to book a tee time in advance for two golfers $12. The round of 18 plus a cart was $82 on top of that. Once at the first tee we were rushed and told we had to join the 2 players in front of us which was never mentioned while booking my tee time. We then asked that our money to be refunded after being harassed THREE following times by golf staff to couple up to which we were denied. Instead we were forced to play out a then terrible round of golf whether we liked it or not. You would think a mediocre park system course would cater to there clients, especially after having paid nearly $200 to play. I will never recommend or return to hominy hill golf course and I suggest anyone reading this Do the same and play at ANY of the other fully able and affordable golf courses in the surrounding area.

Normally it's 5 stars. But given it's mid-December, this is as good as one could expect. Greens are somewhat bumpy, but they hold OK and overall, putts stay on line. Fairways are suprisingly green - pretty much have to roll them over. Playing a nice course this late in the season is a real bonus! I'll do it again if we get some nice weather.

Hominy Hill is a fun and challenging golf course. I always find fun people to play with and the course is kept in great condition. It is probably the busiest Monmouth County Course but it is well deserving of it's great reputation.

As anyone that golfs on Monmouth County Golf Courses, know that each place has its own atmosphere and majority have a nice atmosphere. Hominy Hill is one where all the players are very nice in regards to pace of play and the staff is top notch. They accommodate all most any request and with a smile on their faces! The course is a top notch 18 holes with a small practice area right before the 1st hole. The prices are MORE THAN responsible for the amount of grooming that must take place at Hominy. They have a cart that comes around often for beverages and snacks. The greens are pretty stiff when its dry outside and very very slow when its wet, of course. The have nice curves and are hard to read if you are a bogey player. So all in all this is a great play to call home.

Great course and staff, gets a lot of play and greens can be tricky at times. You will fall in love with the challenges of this course as I have. Book early and get there early to warm up as you will need to be on point with your game.

I play in a weekly corporate golf league at Hominy Hill, which is a private course purchased and now managed by the Monmouth County Park System. It is updated, and well manicured with a club house renovation being planned and started. Locker room and showers are available. The course is consistently maintained. It has a 3 to five inch rough depending on the day. It is sufficiently long to be challenging, and the greens are medium speed and with varied slopes. Pin positions are changed at least weekly if not more often. Enjoy your day, I do.

Haminy Hill was an atrocious golfing experience. While the course was well kept, and slightly impressive, the experience was completely ruined by their incredibly non-accommodating staff. My friend and I play a tournament at the end of each golf season consisting of several games at different county courses so that we can get a feel for the great courses Monmouth county has to offer, and for good old fashioned competition. We simply wanted to play as a twosome for that reason. While we understand that sometimes you get paired up on a busy day, there was simply no mention of this until we we were made a mockery of on the first tee. The staff was treating us with no respect, and upon completion of the first hole we were told that we MUST join the twosome in front of us, despite our quick pace of play. We said we understood but would like a refund. Of course, no refund after we played hole 1. We were shoed in and scammed. All for the measly price of $82 a golfer PLUS a small booking fee. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the great game of golf somewhere else where they respect their clientele, such as Cruz Farms, Bel Aire, Colts Neck CC, Spring Meadow....etc. ALL are great courses that have always treated us well. Screw Hominy Hill.

One of the best public venues in the country. From the back tees and with long ruff, you might play a PGA event here. The USGA public links match play was held here several times.

Love this place not to long or short, allways in great condition, be mindful alot of elderly walkers

Thomas Broderick

Course is fantastic. I saw another review that said all the par 4s are dogleg rights and I have to admit it does seem that way. However I thought the course was great and in great shape. Would highly recommend.

Will Siegfried

Aesthetically this is the Jewel of the county courses but tons of play wears on the course by the summer time. The rangers and staff do their best but given the lack of funds (don't raise the green fees this is a good review) the course lacks the "pure" landscaping a private one would feature. Regardless, it's a great test of golf at over 7000yards from the back tees and 3 sets forward including a yellow for seniors. If you haven't played , it's a must, but don't be in a rush because 5 hours can be typical given the amount of play the course gets unfortunately. Lastly, put hot water in the showers !! That's going to suck come fall/winter.

Stanley Palmaka

Great course. I would give it a 5-star rating if the greens were shaved a bit more for a truer roll and faster speed

Dan Johnson

Awsome as usual!

Michael Attanasio

In fantastic shape

Susan Boehler

The course is in great shape. Greens a little fast. And is very much walkable.

Jonathan McCann

A great course. It’s a classic layout- with a hell of a lot of dogleg right holes (8). Also there was no directional signs leading you to the pro shop. this was a little frustrating but not the worst thing. Overall a great course.

Very beautiful course, great design and layout. Only downfall is it gets over played and beat up towards the mid-end of the season. Also no real place to sit down after the round.
