Nice course and layout. Poor review for the rudest staff I have ever experienced on a course. Ran us off before the sun went down even though we were told to have the carts back by a certain time and it was 20 minutes before then. Pretty sure we were charged more than the posted twilight rate. Would recommend playing somewhere else.

Golf course was so-so. The venue is beautiful but the golf course belongs on a lower tier hotel. Pace of play was good.

Like the layout. Some interesting holes but conditions were not good. Used tee time pass for discount $35. Still not worth the price. Tees greens bunkers and fairways were ugly. Maybe they should put more money into the course rather than the clubhouse.

Fantastic play for beginners and pros alike. Well maintained greens. Sunday thru Wednesday after 3pm is $20 dollars per person including cart, Monday is two for one all day!

Stay away worst experience ever. Staff is rude as I was attempting to pay at 1245 as my tee time was at 12:50. It took 15 minutes in line to pay to have a elderly man behind the desk to tell me you are supposed to be 20 minutes early. He then comments it's people like me that hold up the golf course. I commented my 4 handicap will not slow up anything and he said you won't shot 104. I quit after 9 bwing 4 over par. Pace of play is horrible with different twosome spread around. If your over 70 they have a job for you behind the counter. Over 80 you can be a ranger here. $68.00 to play on a Friday at 12:50pm. One of the employees did apologize to me as I was leaving. STAY AWAY the customer is not always right in there minds. Open more then 1 register and have enough keys for your carts and you will get people off on time!!! Seniors behind the register retire already.

This hotel needs help.. People working there need a personality when dealing with new perspective hires. My wife..she's never been inside.. Was met with No acknowledgment..Zero. No greeting..no smiles. Come on!!! Dirty.. Wow. I'll never send anyone there.. No motivation.. Grounds crew zipping around on golf carts.. Not helping patrons. S L O W .. Some just don't look like they enjoy having a job.. Management issue..

There are tons of flies. And the rangers are very annoying. They will continually remind you to keep moving along when you are playing. They have nothing better to do I guess.... it is Jersey. The flies are fine on holes 1, 2, 3,... then it just gets unbearable. Play somewhere else if you can.

Mountain View is a popular local course, open to the public. The course lacks the practice facilities of some of the other local courses (no putting area and a minimal driving range) but the course itself is well maintained and forgiving with its wide fairways. Specials, available on GolfNow, are frequently available, making golf at Mountain View very affordable.

Every year I participate in my companies golf outing. Its a great time and the course is well groomed. There is a consession cart that drives around and serves beer! What service!

Course is nice and in good condition, but the bug situation made it nearly unplayable. I read reviews before playing the course and thought that complaints about bugs were a bit odd, but once I got there I understood. There was a swarm of bugs above my head and buzzing in my ears the entire round. The course needs to do something about the standing water, every puddle on the course was filled with mosquito larvae.

I've been playing here for years, even worked on the maintenance crew during college summers, and I still love it. Always in great shape, provides a true challenge but is not unfair (well, except for the fairway on #14; that slope is crazy!). I play it less frequently now that I've moved out of Mercer county, as the nonresident rates here (and all the other Mercer courses) are quite steep, but it's still worth a play at least once or twice a year.

Not sure when the last poster played this course.. they have done a lot of work here. the staff treats you like a "member" The fees here are very reasonable for the quality of golf, locker rooms, showers and a very challenging course. there are not better values in public golf in the area as Mercer county provides. County rates are great, out of county have options to bring the cost down and play all 4 course.. in the long run we all pay the same, when I add the county taxes on my property over all costs even out. Fairways and Greens!!

Worst golf experience of my life! The starters and rangers are EXTREMELY unprofessional. The course starts with 2 par 5s. We shot double bogey as a foursome and were told we were slowing down the pace at hole 3! I understand pace of play but double bogey is not out of expectations. Then the ranger spoke to us again at 7 and 10 and said we were 6 minutes off pace! I have never been hounded about time so bad, but it gets worse. He then told us to drop in on the fairway at 14! At this point I told him I paid for a full round and would be taking all of my tee-shots. The Rangers became frustrated, lost his temper and CALLED THE POLICE to have us escorted off the course. Definitely going to small claims court for my money back, and will be telling everyone I know not to golf here!

Great interior décor, comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. Lots of activities and a decent bar to keep you busy in the long evenings, especially since there isn't much in the town of Whitefield. The food was great (one of the best NY Strips that I've had), but the options will only keep you going for a couple of days, after which it may get a bit repetitive.

Just played course and though I love the layout, it was in off season shape. Somehow the course felt it was still worth $75 to play, even though it was cart path only and greens were horrible. Definitely won't be back, but get the feeling, staff wants it that way, if you're not a resident.

Do not waste your day golfing at this location. Arrived 1 hour before t time to practice putting and did not get checked in until 35 minutes later due to slow check in person who took 10 minutes per person for check in process. Fairways were fairly maintained, however putting greens were one of the worst I have ever played. Damaged greens with divots everywhere. Save your money and time and avoid this place.

One of the best courses for the money in New Jersey. Conditions are always superb. The only reason I fail to give it 5 stars is that the Marshalls never enforce the pace of play. Some of the longest rounds of my life have been on this course. They are either afraid of conflict or lazy because the only time you see them is hole 1 or 17.

We've stayed at Mountain View Inn two years in a row for school vacation. The reason we come back is that they have enough amenities on site to keep the kids (and parents) entertained for several days. Our favorite features are the in-house theater, pool, game room, axe throwing, and farm. It's also located close to ski resorts and other White Mountain attractions. Look for deals on Groupon.

Dont book a tee time through golf now for this course. I booked a tee time for 10:10am. The course called and left a message that said it was booked and that they will move me to 12:20pm. When i called the course to confirm the change in tee time, they said that time was taken. Total BS.

As you can see from my photos, the views are breathtaking. The grounds are immaculately kept and the staff are top notch. Walking through the corridors will take you back a century and you will be amazed at their attention to detail within the main hotel. We were only there for a night but the experience was memorable. Not to mention there is an axe throwing tournament every day! #acutabove Now for the constructive nitpicks... My assumption is that because it is old school central ventilation is going to be a massive overhaul and they might do that in the future but as it stands our room had a stand in AC unit and when I surveyed the outside of others, some had window units. Was not a deal breaker in the least. And because of that, there was a slight smell in the hallway. No one seemed to mind at all. The food wasn't terrible, it just needed some seasoning. It was blah. Now it could just be my palate but it wasn't on par with what the hotel is. All in all it was a very good time and i would recommend this for a weekend getaway or as a wedding venue.
