Awesome course. Holes that make you go...WHAT?! Huge challenge and absolutely gorgeous. Bring a lot of balls and have the right attitude towards it and you'll have an absolute blast.

We recently stayed in cabin #2 from August 6-9, 2016. We paid $135/night plus golf fees for a cabin that had several black widow spiders. We had 2 young children & an infant with us & were worried every night for our safety. We expected bugs/ spiders, however, it was very obvious the black widows had been there for a long time. The cabin was dirty & the bathroom smelled of moldy, rotting rugs. We have been going to lake McConaughy for over 30 years and we will never stay in a cabin on the golf course again. Extremely disappointing.

Great course, were members for two years at the course until the staff never returned countless phone calls of us trying to renew our membership. This forced us to look elsewhere which turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we found West Winds golf course which is phenomenal. The staff is very kind and friendly and take pride in what they do, and are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. If you're in the area and want to play golf and want someone to appreciate your business go to West Winds. You'd be luckier to get a call from someone on the moon than someone calling you back from Bayside.

You will love it if golf is what your interested in. This is a players course and if you let the people who noticed the window sills are dirty, be your guide then your missing out. Notice no bad reviews about this incredible golf course. Come play for yourself. And after you can enjoy hot wings walleye or prime rib.

We expected a cozy, rustic experience Aug 6-8, 2016, but the cabin was simply plain dirty. It was apparent the corners of all windows hadn't been cleaned in quite some time, they were covered in spider webs with decaying insects, the turning rods on all window shades were broken, glass in all windows was dirty, overhead fan didn't have a pull string nor did it work, TV stand didn't hold the TV securely, the table and the microwave stand were both wobbly and couldn't be tightened. Brown bathroom rug hadn't been washed any time recently-its fibers were matted and it smelled very musty/moldy. Even the plastic on the rim of the little plastic trash can basket was chipped and sharp. It was not conducive to safety and comfort of young children, toddler/infant. The kids have come to Lake Maconaughy for years and were excited to come again, bringing us along for our first time there, but the dingy accommodations were disappointing. It was difficult to be comfortable because the cabin was unsafe, and it was difficult to sleep because we found black widows in the corners under the beds where the children slept and where the baby crawled around. The delight the kids had when we arrived disappeared, they were so scared in these conditions; it was sad to see their excitement disappear. The physical setting itself was beautiful, settled on the golf course in easy walking distance on a wooded path to a nice sandy beach. We survived and wouldn't ever want to come back to those surroundings, but good, thorough, regular cleaning of the cabins could turn your future visitor comments into rave reviews.

Drove 45 minutes to get Walleye dinner as listed on their website menu only to find out they didn't have any tonight. Beware prices on website is not the same as stated on the menu we received by 2 to 3 dollars. Waitress was not even apologetic. Margarita was good and a friendly bartender.

Beast of a course - beautiful views and hole layouts. It is easily the most scenic, but also the toughest course I've ever played. Bring balls and be prepared for a challenge. Greens were playing slow and it got gusty - enjoy it!

Shaggy and aerated greens, not puttable. Long fairways non maintained bunkers. Don't even ask for a raincheck. Unfriendly and unorganized management.

Our group has made an annual pilgrimage to Bayside for the past 12 years. Great, fun, challenging golf course with a spectacular clubhouse and we love the walleye/prime rib. One of a kind place!

Great golf course. Have played other courses in the sandhills area and for the price you can't beat it. Was in very good shape and has some demanding holes. Well worth the drive. Hope to play again.
