We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Somerby, and I can't speak highly enough about them! Trina is such a help with the planning, and basically was our wedding planner! She has great recommendations for vendors, and the tasting that they host gives you a great visual of set-up and decoration options.

As wedding photographers in the area, we have seen many venues attempt to run a tight ship, but few can hold a candle to the staff at Somerby. Brides are relaxed when having a wedding here, the food is wonderful and Trina & crew consistently prove to be some of the hardest working people in the industry.

Nice venue and plenty of amenities offered including a grand ballroom accommodating up to 300 people, dance floor, and balcony with nice view. Variety of food and beverage options. Food was great. Overall an elegant venue. Staff was generally accommodating on the day of event. We were surprised that the bill was several thousand more than what was estimated in the beginning. There were several hidden charges including a generous 23% service fee that was not discussed upfront and was in the fine print. In addition, contrary to what was discussed we were not notified that our food and beverage minimum was reached during the reception which resulted in a significant bill increase. There was also an error in our billing which resulted in us being overcharged. It took over one month for them to address the error. Staff can also be pretty difficult to contact via phone or email most of the time.

Everything was good until we were told to leave by our waiter because they needed the table. Not asked nicely if we could finish up so they could seat someone else, which would we have gladly done , but , "You need to go, we need the table" What I thought was odd was there was nobody waiting in the Lobby when we left. This was a table of 10 adults and three under the age of 10. The minute the check was signed , you need to go. The prices they charge, qe should be able to watch the sunset. Been going for years and recommending this place for years, all good things must come to an end. Used to be excellent, selection has been reduced, half the food was over cooked.

We had our wedding and wedding reception here, and really thought it was the best location in all of Southern Minnesota. First off, Trina (the director of catering and sales for Somerby) proved to be invaluable throughout the whole process. The location is beautiful, the amenities were amazing, the catering was really the best we've tasted, and the service was professional. Overall, they handled everything without a hitch and made for a memorable event. If you are planning your wedding here, you expectations will be met - and exceeded!
