Our group of 4 played behind a group that played as a group of 8...I called the clubhouse and the Ranger came out and did nothing about it...why did he even bother to come out?...after complaining about this at the end of the round the manager didn't even offer a refund. After 2 very bad experiences with very slow play I will not be playing this course ever again...plenty of other great courses to enjoy my time and money on.

Well kept course! Managed well especially when it comes to banquets and weddings! Tournaments here go soooo smooth too. The good is pretty good and the staff is very welcoming and love there jobs. I recommended you at least give this course a shot!

Average municipal course at above average rates. The range is also expensive compared to other locations in the area. Rangers are usually clueless about their job. There are better courses in the area at comparable rates.

By far and away the most over priced golf course I have ever been to and never will be back to again. Service was awful! Employees take your business for granted and are a bunch of grumpy old men who treat you like you do not belong. I rather would take an hour trip to red wing and pay $60 for two people for a course that is just, if not more, challenging and most definitely more beautiful of a course. Stop taking your customer base for granted if you want to be sure to be around for another 20 years.

Crystal Lake Golf Course is a gem in the South Metro. Conditions are fantastic from tee to green. Outstanding 19th hole and event center. And one of the best courses to learn the game from adults to youth.

Great course in the south metro in Lakeville. Course is in really great shape! It's fairly generous off the tee with good size fairways. The greens are big with some different levels on a couple holes. The greens roll pretty good maybe a tad slow but rolls true. The clubhouse is nice and big and they have a beautiful patio area! The staff is very courteous and on top of it! They have a nice big putting green and a driving range that goes about 230-250 yards maybe. Overall I was very pleased with my experience and will definitely play again!

Course is nice. But staff rather rude. Made reservation for 18 holes, then was told on arrival that tournament had trumped us and we would only be allowed to play 9. That was okay, but then they got grumpy with start time and cart rules. Sad to see our experience start off badly because of their attitude.

Crystal Lake Golf Course is a challenging course with lots of trees and water to penalize you for errant shots. Its rolling hills offer a variety of terrain which adds to the difficulty and is pleasing to the eye. Typical of Crystal Lake Golf Course is the 13th hole -- the 2nd most difficult hole on the course. It's a dogleg right, 518 yard par 5 where the 2nd shot is well guarded and crucial if you hope to walk away with a good number. Course management is key on this and many other holes on the course. The course is well maintained with a what seems to be a good amount of maintenance staff to keep up with demand I enjoy taking people here who've never golfed the course. They're always surprised by what a gem it is.

I just want to say thank you to Diane, Victoria, and the CLG staff for making my wedding spectacular on September 6, 2014. Diane and Victoria are just wonderful people and they truly care that their brides are happy while they are there on their wedding day and throughout the entire wedding planning process. I couldn't have asked for a better two when helping me on my wedding day. Diane and Victoria always responded quickly by email and phone when I had a question that needed an answer too. On my wedding day they were both there helping set out my decorations from the tables to hanging paper lanterns outside on the balcony. We had our ceremony outside in their brand new Gazebo and it was amazing. The flowers were beautiful, the landscape was gorgeous, a bride could have not asked for anything more. LOL. After my ceremony, Diane had a golf cart waiting there for me and my husband to drive up to the reception area. They even had golf carts waiting for my guests who could not walk so quick to get them up to the reception area. Oh and I can't tell you about their fantastic staff on my wedding day! They were absolutely superb.... They always made sure that I had everything that I needed and at one point during the dance someone stepped on the back of my dress where it was dragging. The staff went and found some stuff to help me tie it up personally so that it wouldn't happen again. Oh and I cant forget about the food. Wow was that great. All of my guests just raved about the food and the staff, from how everything was served and everything came out in a timely matter. Just wonderful. After my fantastic day there the staff even helped empty my tall cylinder vases full of water an helped pack all of my decoration in boxes for my mom and helpers to carry out. So once again Diane, Victoria, and CLG staff I cant thank you enough for all the great things you did for us. You surely made our day unforgettable... Jamie and Jacob R

For the value, this is not a $65 golf course. Fairways are understandably suffering from winter kill. But the greens are very and painfully slow. My group and I today were literally slamming puts on the green and they dying by the cup each time. The greens are also very bumpy. The value and condition of this course is more appropriately priced for $40 per round.

Really enjoyable golf course in the South Metro. Great conditions. The course wanders through a development in Lakeville and has some nice elevation changes. Love the par 3’s which were challenging but fair. Great practice area. The staff in the pro shop and grill area were super!!

This is one of my favorite courses. Everything is just so. The fairways are manicured and the greens are perfect and the sand traps are fair and actually fun to hit out of. Good for your long game and your short game. And the staff, they are so great. If you are a walker, this is your course but they have really nice electric carts if you want to ride. Great time. And check out the new pub they have as well. The food is excellent with great service.

Crystal Lake is one of my favorite courses to play in the Twin Cities. Greens are true and great quality, fairways are always immaculate, rough is challenging yet fair, minor elevation changes and doglegs give the shot choice some options. Driving range is grass, which seems to be rare these days. Awesome chipping and putting practice area. If you manage to get a tee time at this busy course, don't cancel!

I’ve been a member here for several years and it’s been decent. Friendly staff. Rangers are nice but they rarely push slow players. They wave as they drive by and don’t care that there are 2 groups waiting on the same tee. Tee boxes are uneven and if you’re looking for a challenge from the tee box then try it out. Don’t play in the afternoon. It can take 5 plus hours to play 18. Greens are very slow and can be inconsistent from hole to hole. Back 9 is always soggy and spongy. Greens fee for non-members is pretty steep. Definitely there are better options, but I live really close and convenience outweigh my dissatisfaction. It’s a good thing I also play at other courses.

The staff and Management here are terrible. The general manager is more concerned with saving face than customer input and the staff are clueless. Last time I was there 4 groups of golfers left including my group... When I called the general manager and tried to explain my experience he spent that time over-talking me and disagreeing with me, HA! It's an okay course, pretty short overall and the back nine is a swamp even on the hottest and driest days. After 25 years of playing there regularly, I'll wait until new ownership or management comes in before playing there again.

This is one of the most fun courses to play in the Twin Cities - the layout is challenging yet fair from any tee box, and it's amazing how they keep the course in such tip-top shape no matter the time of year. Several holes will challenge your shot-making ability, and the smallish greens will demand accuracy with your approach shots. Greens roll true - not overly fast, but very subtle. Read the breaks carefully! It's reasonably priced, has a nice practice area and the staff is always really friendly. Highly, highly recommended!

Great course, elevation changes and doglegs make it an interesting course to play. 5 sets of tees make it playable by all ages and abilities. Lots of nature watching too. Turf and greens are in great shape. Friendly staff and course rangers are an asset. The course has a wild, up north feel even though it is in a developed suburb. Had a very bad experience at this facility. Rangers and the GM (his name was Jim) were very rude and condescending. The people two groups in front of us were moving slowly which held up the rest of the course. One of the Rangers was telling us that we were the cause of the slow play. When we talked with Jim he told us that we were uneducated and proceeded to tell us that we could leave if we wanted even though we had paid for 18 holes and only played 11. I would not recommend going here if you don't have to. There are plenty of other wonderful golf courses around the city and certainly more friendly staff.

This is a very nice golf course! It is a nice golf course for any player in the game. I was told that they had a deep freeze this past winter in that some of the greens and Fairways were damaged by the ice blocks so to play it aggressively. I thought that the course was in good shape the greens were a little bumpy but here in Minnesota were used to that! The tee offs we're in good shape and if you are a persistent Fairway driver you will love this course even if you hit it out of bounds the play area is still decent to play from. Fuel water features few hidden greens but if you can drive the ball you got it made. The staff was really nice we had a talk with the general manager who explain the features of the course his name is Jim Orlando he was very inviting in Friendly if you have any questions to ask him he is willing to stop and tell you the answers. The beverages were cold the food was good. Well maintained and clean Clubhouse. Rangers stop through on maybe three out of the 18 holes and checked on us play was going good and the people in front of us were I'm a steady time and we're playing well so I don't think that that's a problem with most of the golfers. Play moves pretty fast and as long as you don't take too long looking for your loss ball you can get a round of 18 in in under three and a half hours. So grab some friends and your clubs sleeve of balls ankle play this course you will not be disappointed! Tell em Tbone sent you!! #getoutngolf

Crystal Lake is close to where I live, and they have a pretty decent range with a practice chipping area and large practice putting area. The course is definitely hit or miss, but one thing you can almost always bet on, is that it will be super busy. Almost every time I go there, at least 2 or 3 groups are waiting by the first tee. The first time I played there, I was consistently about 20 minutes behind pace of play, and ended up playing a 5 hour round. The course, overall, isn't really in that great of condition. Staff is super nice, and it also has a great bar with a back patio for a perfect 19th hole.

Outstanding course that is always in exceptional shape no matter the time of year. Greens fast and well maintained. Don't be fooled, just because it's not a long course from the tips doesn't mean it's not challenging, I think it's one of the tougher courses I've ever played. My brother got married here in June and the staff could not have been better.

Played the course in May 2019 and the fairways were in rough shape due to winter kill. Came back in July 2019 and was very impressed with how quickly they were able to get the place back in good shape. Course layout is fun and challenging but a fair test. Even though we had significant rain over the past few days, the course drained really well and even the low points that had been swampy back in May were in great shape. Would highly recommend giving this course a try.

Always a pleasure! I have been using Crystal Lake for an annual event my company hosts for the last 3 years. Each time has been extremely professional, prompt, there is such great attention to detail, they are reliable, require minimal direction, the service is fantastic, the staff are wonderful, and the food is excellent! They have a great menu and selections to choose from, and take so much of the stress out of your event. I would definitely recommend them for any event you need catered. We held our grooms dinner here this past September and I cannot stop raving about this place! Beautiful views, very professional staff, amazing food and the decor was gorgeous. Diane and Victoria are so so accommodating and easy to work with. We were comfortably seated (125 people) and the floor to ceiling windows gave such beautiful views of the golf course! I'd recommend this venue over and over again! Thank you Diane and Victoria!

I go back and forth on whether this course is a 4 or 3. It's really 3+. The front 9 is a solid 4. The 13th hole's boggy fairway detracts from the back nine being a solid 4. The course is in good condition over all, but like most public and send-public courses around the Twin Cities, there are way too many unrepaired ball marks and divots. Although I play this course a half dozen times during the season (my friends' home course), it's not in my top 5 for Twin Cities area.

Nice course that's well-maintained, staffed by friendly people, and usually not too busy. It can be challenging, but overall it's a pretty friendly course to play. Prices are fair (greens fees, carts, range balls, beverages, etc). Good selection at the bar and the drink cart always seems to show up at the right time so that's a huge plus!
