I absolutely loved this course. Great bang for your buck. This is nicer than some of the courses in the metro that cost twice as much to play. Well worth the trip. Can't wait to come back.

If you have not been there, for a drink or food on the patio, you are missing it. No membership necessary. New owners.....I don't think they do free popcorn anymore which stinks.....

If you like slow play, inconsiderate club house personnel (manager is rude and extremely close minded) and a course that has unbelievable drainage issues. Than this is the course for you. Dine at their 1star restaurant which offers a nice menu but with prices that will make you feel like you are a 5 star country club. Very little to offer the golfer that wants a snack ( candy bar which they only have like 4 kinds all with nuts) chip selection not good, hot dogs over priced cold and somewhat greasy, no pastry or donuts, no breakfast except for bagels that a dog could knaw on for a few hours. Restaurant staff friendly but probably shouldn't be wearing yoga pants. THE COURSE ALLOWS KIDS YOUNGER THAN 12 OUT ON REGULAR PLAY TIME..... BEWARE THEY DON'T LET YOU PASS AND THE PARENTS GET TERRIBLY UPSET WHEN ASKED TO LET A GROUP PLAY THROUGH! When the club house was called about a group playing slow (crowding up the whole course) they asked us what we wanted them to do about it. Now I am no rocket scientist but common sense should answer that question. Grounds crew was extremely courteous and pleasant to talk to during our 5 hr round! Seemed to know their jobs well and seemed to do an OK job on fairways and especially the greens, lightning fast, smooth and relatively tough. Conclusion: do not recommend

Club House is half rate with ridiculous pricing for what you get. There is no amenities to justify such a high price. No driving range, lack of knowledge to the game of golf and how things should operate on a golf course. The club house over books tee times and doesn't care about the golfer or the members, constantly having to wait because of the over booking. The club house treats members terrible and doesn't seem to care for the growing concerns golfers and members have. The city of Owatonna hired non-golfers to do a job that golfers should be doing. As a member of Brooktree I can honestly say that it's not a first choice for places to golf other than convenience. Hoping things change so it goes back to being a fun place to go play golf. There is no breakfast at the restaurant, Lack of good grab and go foods and the prices are close to country club prices for meals. Service is not so good, the kids working there are busy on their phones and if you do buy a pop or even food for that matter you may miss your tee time because of how long it takes them to not only cook the food but ring in a pop. Waited almost 10minutes just to get a pop. Over all the course gets 1 star. If you want great golf and great service where the food is reasonable and excellent I would recommend Faribault golf club...... fast, knowledgeable about what they are doing and the course is in excellent shape along with all around reasonable prices.

I attended a conference here and the staff was very friendly and the building was nice. It's winter, so I can't tell if the course is nice, but the layout seems really fun and interesting.

Live in Minneapolis but stopped here to play a new course after playing Legacy in Faribault (which is part of the Public Country Club monthly unlimited golf program I'm a member of) and WOW...was very impressed. Proshop staff was super friendly and the course is the perfect combination of open and playable yet strategic. Conditions were outstanding. If I lived closer, I would play this course regularly. Try it, you'll probably really like it.

Staff not very knowledgeable, over booked tee times (must be trying to run a 2 hr 9 with to much overlap) course was crowded. Food cart didn't stop just drove around the course. Restaurant was nice looking with nice patio but the food was not very good and more expensive than the golf which was to high priced for what you got, Over abundance of fertilizer on greens, rough was just that, to long to thin yet impossible for a amature golfer to get out of, seemed unattended. Green cups domed, sand ungroomed in most traps. All around it was not an enjoyable place to play golf and eat for the amount of money spent. Do not recommend.
