Nice golf course and friendly staff
Newly remodeled wedding venue, very pretty!
Fun and challenging course. It was in great condition, however weather conditions have been ideal for course maintenance this year.
Good looking grass this year. Nice driving range!
Vast improvement from old course. But still a Gopher hole.
Friendly staff and nice course
Went for the boutique which was really nice.
I have used the driving range several times.
The tin fish is a great spot for a beer, if you can ignore the golfers hanging out.
Really nice golf course. Prices are not too bad.
Went to a wedding there. Thought it was a nice venue. The staff was great and the food was superb.
A really great place for 18 holes if you can get a tee time.
Great remodel of the course. Some of the best true rolling green I've played. Level tee boxes, and great views in the cities even
Need 150 stakes at least. Will speed up play. Love the course
Love the newly renovated course!!!
Fun and close to home if you live in Edina. Under construction starting fall of 2016. Several nice long holes and some fun par three holes with elevation.
Course redone all the trees have removed and most of the hills
I had my wedding at Braemar, and it was a great experience. Amy made everything so easy, and on the day of the wedding Christine executed all the details perfectly.
Coolness
Course well maintained
I love the course
Tough course but still fun for amatures
Yay yay yay!!!!! Finally I golfed. Perfect for starters.
Been a couple times. Course is well maintained, and prices are reasonable. Course layout is a bit strange on some holes.
Beautiful practice facility!
Staff is very rude!! The course in ok.
This course is just ok. The fees are higher than I would expect for a course of this quality. When we arrived, we went to the club house to pay and get a few items. The employees behind the counter were younger and seemed very pompous. Once we got our cart, we went on to our tee time. The whole time we were playing, we were being watched by staff members. Any time we went off the cart path, we were told to get back on the path. It was like an army of them telling all the people trying to enjoy themselves. The fairways are nice, but the greens are VERY inconsistent. Some were very hard and the ball rolled forever, while some were like mush and the ball barely moved. Overall, it was a nice course, but I won’t play here again until the course is in better condition.
Going to be great when all the greens and fairways mature.
Only have played in the academy course and it has been a great experience.
Golfed once and won't be back. The Character of the course has completely changed. Not a fan. Also, as a non-patron I paid $70.00 (with Cart) after 3:00pm. This price would be too expensive even if I had played at 8:00am. Travel a bit and spend your money on a course that will give you the return for your money that you deserve.
Not even open yet, and likely the worst course in the south metro. The layout is confusing, tee boxes aiming at other tee boxes and they removed all of the really good things this course used to be. The fact it has taken this long to get the course complete shows that the people in charge do not know what they are doing. The old executive course was one of the best short courses, not only in Minnesota, but that I have played across the country. In stead of making it better, they doubled the cost to play, made it nearly unwalkable, and with three 70 yard holes in a row, what more is there to say. This is exactly what the new course will be. Overpriced, uninteresting, and certain holes dangerous. This was my main course, but it looks like I will play in Chaska or Bloomington instead.
Have scheduled two high school class reunion lunches at Tin Fish Restaurant. Enjoyed ourselves.
Slowwwwww 10 to 18
Love the redesign. It is a lot more open and forgiving in some areas, challenging in others. The Back 9 is pretty tough. The course was in decent shape, although the greens were a little slow, but I imagine they are being tender with them as it is the first playing season. Price is right for a course of this caliber. The one thing that knocked down my rating was the pace. It took us 5 hours in carts and didnt feel like we were doing a lot of waiting. I know everyone loves the par 3 with the tee boxes on the giant hill (now #13), but when we got to the tee there was a log jam of 2 groups. The only time we had to wait all day and it was a long wait, almost 20 minutes. All in all I am happy with the redesign and am looking forward to coming back to improve my score! hopefully the wait at 13 improves.
Really fun par 3 course that is very reasonable if you walk it. It was only $17 for a Saturday morning which was less than what I would have thought based off of how nice the course was.
Wait igual new course. Very nice club area to have a beer after. Good place for a quick 9 or a round 18
A terrific public course.
Had a lesson with Mike Diebel. He corrected my grip and swing. Got me back on track with my chipping. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their game.
Great course and practice area. Unfortunately driving range was mats only in the middle of summer.
The new Braemar is fantastic! Greens are running hard and fast, and the multiple sets of tee boxes are great for speed of play.
Horrible course redo ... what happened to the trees? Holes are poorly marked. No features, basically just one large green space. The first 150 yards of many holes are tee boxes. Can hear the traffic on HWY 494 from most holes. Very disappointed.
We haven't golfed here, but have attended a few events and the facility is beautiful. It's situated in a beautiful and secluded area. The grounds are well kept and the staff in delightful.
If you are looking for a fantastic golf course then Braemar GC is the place to play... With its newly remodeled course and ginormous practice facility you are going to be truly amazed from the moment you step on the 1st tee box to your final putt in 18... This course will certainly give you the "wow" factor that you are looking for...
Great new course.
worst driving range I have ever seen.. you have to mostly play on mud and messy grass.. Update: Changing from 2 star to 1 star because they spent millions to fix the driving range area and you still cannot play. They want you to play on mats :( Update: now you can play on proper grass. Much better.
Course is very nice, little bumpy. 19-27 is the nicest. Workers were all rude, kicked everyone of the course after they over booked themselves which made play very slow. Had 1 hole left with plenty of light. Everyone on the course was angry and the employees didn't care at all. Guessing their time clock ends at 8:50. Won't go back for this reason. Beer cart lady was very nice, that deserves a star.
Good place for golf especially if you don't golf that often
This review is for the event space, not the golf course. The recently renovated event space is quite nice. Amy and the rest of the event planning staff were always extremely helpful. The only disadvantage to this venue is that, since the event space renovation, the City of Edina has greatly increased the per guest charge for using space.
Awesome
Course is redeveloped, but should be in great condition I a year or two. The rangers are pretentious and think they own the joint. Chloe is the beverage cart was awesome!
I was amazed at how the new course looks at Braemar. Greens that roll amazingly true and the new beautiful hole designs. The new #13, old #12 is my favorite part of the update. I can’t wait to come back again!
Played executive 9 in less than 1hr 15 minutes. Great day!
(Translated by Google) Tough By 3 (Original) Tough Par 3
Best big gold course
Nice course. Service is a bit slow and the ranger is a spitting image of Josef Stalin.
Stunning golf course & driving range!
Amazing shape.
Great staff great driving range
Love this place great golf course
Quite convenient if you’re just willing to stop by and plan the Academy nine, or the full 18 holes.
Over priced golf course. Just renovated but not in great condition so far.
Love the new course but they failed to tell us when we booked our tee time that the greens were punched the day before. I feel like it is fairly customary for courses to be open about that so as regulars it was a bit disappointing.
Nice course. Suggest you take a cart. Needs more visible yard markers. On a couple of E marked tees need to drive 210+ to clear water.
Just played the new course and it’s stunning! Gets my vote as a top 5 public course in Minnesota. Love the new practice facility and staff is super friendly. Well done Edina!
,e me I
Don't come here. This place is great the way it is. :)
Disappointed. Waited 1 1/2 years to reopen after a total redo, taking 27 holes down to 18, new everything. Expected the course to reopen in pristine condition. Instead, it's in mediocre shape. Fairways and tee grounds have bare spots, uneven grass. I thought it would have recovered after being open for a month but no. Disappointing especially other muni courses in the area by now are in great shape.
Beautiful day. I slipped out from work at lunch to hit a bucket of balls on the range. Easy in and out. Range in great shape.
Very well kept. Close to home
This golf course is very beautiful for being in the middle of the city
Good driving range, but a little pricey. 18 hole course is under construction and not open summer 2018.
The 9 hole course was all that was available in 2017. Meh
Played 9 (holes 10-18 on Hays), course was in great shape. Didn't go into the clubhouse except to pay for the round. Good value, especially for a walker.
The driving range is open and fully functional.
Wish you could hit balls off the ground and not mats. Plus wish the course was open.
not much to like about this course now. It appears they remodeled it using the 'economy' model. Staff were crabby and confused. They told us one price when we scheduled and charged us 75 dollars when we showed up. Very little on the fairways to tell you the hole description (guess they couldn't afford the nice plaques showing the layout of the hole like a premium course would do). The snack cart charges 2.00 for a candy bar a 3 dollars for a bottle of water...but they were out of most of everything by the time they showed up for us (the 16th hole). We had to wait for about 8 holes to find some place to go to the bathroom. The ranger was crabby and rude.... lots more... but there are far too many more courses to choose from to ever play at this overpriced badly designed city course...never again
Played the course in late May and it was in good condition. Greens were rolling slow but true. Probably in much better condition now. Many of the trees are brand new making the course feel wide open. The fairways are huge on the new …
Beautiful place
Was overbooked . It took 55 minutes to play 3 holes by myself. Just left
The new design is pretty good. But the conditioning needs to be improved. The bunkers are substandard. Fairways are firm but I think it is due to a very rocky subsurface. A few of my clubs came away scared.
The best place to practice your golfing! I went here twice in a fieldtrip. It was so fun. Glad to do this again in my senior year.
Great course
Fun course. A little expensive but worth it for the quality.
Friendly staff, a nice range, and a well maintained par-three course. I look forward to returning when their full 27 is open!
Great challenging course, I only had enough time to do the front 9 though. I look forward to coming back soon do to the full 18.
Braemar Golf Course is a 36 hole public course with meeting rooms, hiking trails, the Tin Fish restaurant, driving range, golf dome, pro shop and newly designed executive course in Edina, a southwest Minneapolis suburb. The facilities are first rate and open to the public. Call ahead for tee times and meeting reservations.
Nice club house for parties, gatherings.
While it's usually in decent condition (albeit extremely easy), the service is terrible. You see the beverage cart once every 9 holes. The rangers and staff are incredibly rude compared to every other course I've ever played. The prices for EVERYTHING are way higher than they should be. The course plays extremely slow, and you get yelled at regardless of whether or not you're half a hole behind the people in front of you. The only reason I ever go to this dump is because all the other courses in the area are either private or they're also terrible, save for Crystal Lake, but that's not all that close when you want to get in a quick 9 after work.
Great golf course
Course was just re-done and it's very nice. Pretty big fairways with though, precise greens. Only paid $30 for the round (under 25). Greens were recently aerated so they were pretty sandy. New course so the grass just needs to get rooted. Highly recommend for cheap public golfing.
Nice executive course, but main course is under construction and closed, so I can't give more than 3 stars. I will re-rate the course in July 2018
Great golf course
Went to driving range good balls to hit and we'll clean
Great soccer dome
Very nice public golf course.
Great to hear
