Update: I was contacted by St. Clair Shores Golf Club to go over our experience. I really appreciated the follow up and they wanted to know exactly what happened. They want to be able to provide the best experience for everyone and this call really helped smooth over the situation. Thank you for reaching out and hearing me out. Top notch place and they really do care about the people attending their course. The starter was very rude. The guy in the shop lost our tee time and then when he found it he talked down to us because we were going to be late. We wouldnt have been late if he found our tee time. This caused the starter to rush us and reiterated that we were late. I love the course but I don't need to be heckled twice for being late.

I've been golfing this course for over 25 years. Always been happy with the quality of the course. Greens and fairways are most often in excellent shape. Especially with the amout of play this course gets. Con are: Ths course is busy on weekends. Therefore play will be slow. I've been on this course sometimes for 6 hours. Sometimes your forced to be paired up with other golfers. I don't mind but a lot of other golfers do.

Course is always in great shape, sometime the help can be rude. Asked how much the 9 hole rate was and was told it was the same as twilight. When I made the turn the guy at the front desk came out and said I only paid for 9 holes. After getting into it with him briefly I turned around and told him I would leave. He saw I wasn't happy and told me I could go play a few more holes, so I did and when i went to leave, he saw me and opened the door, offered a very weak "my bad" apology and asked if "we were cool?" I've played here between 50-100 times because I live down the street. I don't expect special treatment but shouldn't be treated like I was trying to con them. Again, course is ALWAYS in great shape. Someone needs to tell the staff they don't work for Oakland Hills

New owners already found a way to rip people off...used to be 6 16 oz. Beers for $15... Now it's $15 for 6 12 oz. Beers. Keep stealin from the little guy !!!!

Never can get a Tee time on a Sunday even when calling weeks ahead time. Poor tee time management!! And if you have a 4 some on the weekends forget it they don't let you play 18 holes because... Idk lol but they will tell you that you can play 9 holes which makes absolutley no sense. I've golfed courses everywhere and I've never had this problem very sad.

Relatively easy course. Pretty well maintained. Much improved food and drink service company took over so that's a huge improvement. The pro shop always has polite and friendly people that are always willing to help.

Course is in very good shape. Greens are fast and well taken care of. Sand traps need work. Cart paths are really bad. Nice golf carts. Little pricey for a short municipal course.

On July 12th a group of drunken golfers came into Cranks and they continued to server them. They were vulgar, rude and belligerent to the waitstaff, which they fed into it. We were there for our daughter's birthday and we moved our table to the otherside of the room. Our waitress did apologize but it became a situation of out of sight out of mind. Ended up getting our own silverware, menus... So many things went wrong I wish we would have just left. We had Cranks food before and it tasted great. Don't get me wrong, there were other groups drinking and laughing which is what we expect at the 19th hole. It was disappointing to be ignored by the waitstaff to a group of butthead drunks. Hope this doesn't become the norm. We were excited to see Cranks come to the neighborhood.

Golf here every week in the summer on a league. The course is not overly difficult but for me who is mediocre, still poses challenges. The course is generally kept up pretty well. It does flood here when it rains heavily. Pricing is definitely more than I'd want/expect for a public course so I don't come here unless it is for the league.

I live in S.C.S. an have played it many times over the yrs.I took a layoff from golf but got back into it this yr and played S.C.S. last month. Just like it was all the others times,great shape,great greens and fairways.

Cranks/Restaurant Review - Not Golf Course. . Arrived at 7:40pm - got my Martini at 8:20pm . Ordered food at 7:50pm - got food at 8:35pm . Asked for glass of water twice - never got it. . Asked for onion rings instead of fries for fish and chips - got house fries. . Mentioned that I order onion rings . 12 minutes later got three onion rings . Fish was coated with heavy breading, almost twice as much as the fish. . Onion rings where huge, but also had heavy breading. . coleslaw was vinegar based and excessive. . Not enough tables and chairs for our group. . Was asked if I wanted special ketchup or ranch with fries, said yes got them seven minutes later. . No military discount. Now the waitress was nice and apologetic and the place was busy. If you like vinegar based coleslaw, heavily breaded deep fried food, and having to wait a few minutes longer than usual, then this is an okay place. Will probably pass coming in and/or ordering anything if I do come in. For may fellow veterans, don't expect a discount.

Did not have a good experience here. Air was on we were freezing. Waitress told us that the City controls the air. Really we heard someone else ask and it was turned off. I had the macaroni and cheese. Flavorless and very dry. Asked for darker beer all they had was a coconut porter. Pop machine was not working. I had high hopes for another place to eat. Have had Cranks food at parties and loved it.

Great brunch! Great food, nice atmosphere. Came here for lunch and it was quiet and clean, came for brunch and was not dissapointed. Bloody Mary bar and omelette bar too. Even had options for my toddler.

Over all nice course. Plays fairly easy. The greens are kept up very well, not peppered with ball mark patches. Speed seems to stay consistent across all greens.

Played this course last Saturday for the first time and it was in great shape. The staff in the Proshop and the Starter at the first tee were very friendly and welcoming. That is always a great way to start off any golf day. We had an slight and avoidable issue however with slow play late in the round and I mentioned it in the Proshop afterwards. I received a followup call later in the week from Rob apologizing for that situation. I just wanted to say thanks to him for reaching out to me afterwards. There are not many courses that would do that and kudos to him for his genuine concern for our playing experience that day. Thanks for that Customer Service Rob as it was very much appreciated and we are hopeful to get back there in the future.
