Very nice track with a variety of challenges for low handicappers and higher handicaps as well. The greens were in great shape and ran very true. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Course was in good shape. Pace of play was horrible. Took a little over 5 hours to play 18. Matched my friend and I with two women in their late 60s. We are in our 30s. That should never happen. We had to wait for them to hit two or three shots before we could play our second shots. Course is slightly over priced. Will never play a weekend round there again

Start off by saying the course is amazing and in great shape. It has the perfect combination of difficult and tricky holes. Greens were fast and in perfect condition. Well worth the 65$ price for 18 on the weekend. Unfortunately the pace of play at this course was absolutely miserable. I was on pace for a 6 hour round if I hadn't of left after 15 holes. The ranger actually stopped by when 2 Foursomes and my twosome were lined up waiting for a par three and said there was nothing he could do. His job is to regulate pace of play and he says there was nothing he could do! Unacceptable to me, especially for the money spent. Avoid if its a nice day on the weekend, seems management likes to cram as many people in as possible.

I started taking golf lessons here and have so many positive things to say! The driving range is maintained very well compared to other places I've been. The staff always greeted me with smiles and was very helpful every time I walked in. When I was out on the course the greens were in tip-top condition. I saw some reviews complaining about the greens and I didn't notice any problems. Even their practice green was in really good condition with a variety of hills and opportunities to practice chipping. They also have special yellow markings on the fairway for new golfers, like me, who aren't quite ready to tee off from 350 yards. It's so nice that such an awesome course is so welcoming and encouraging to individuals new at the sport! I went to their fairway runner's series last year which was a really cool 5k where you can run on this scenic course. I recommend that of you're into running, too. Afterwards they had a reception for volunteers and runners. Oh my gosh the food was so good! A good variety of salads, sliders, and sweet potato fries! Everything is clean and kept well inside the clubhouse with good items for sale in the pro shop for fair prices. Also they're home to Special Olympics golfing! How cool! I will be coming back and highly recommend taking lessons there if you're interested in that!

I recently asked for Pine Trace's help in hosting a company golf outing at their course. They were absolutely perfect to work with. The staff was extremely helpful, had great ideas, was very organized, and also polite. The food was great, the course was in good shape, and the outdoor patio/tent was beautiful. Their events coordinator, Kristy, was especially helpful. Everything was top notch, I would strongly recommend looking into what they have to offer for your future event.

18 holes on property that can only handle 15 holes. Its like a maze going from one tee box to the next.

Slow play!!!!!!

My husband golfs here frequently because it is close and not expensive. I have gone with him a couple times just to enjoy the weather and I think it is pretty.

I played my first round at Pine Trace on 6/7/14. Driving to it, you can see a few holes, and they seemed to be in good shape. The 18th hole, which you can see from the practice greens, also seemed to be in very nice shape for this time of the year. We paid and went out on the course. We were charged full price, $42, and not told that about 75% of all the greens were designated as unplayable. They had roped them off and placed drop areas. Now, I understand that this was an extremely rough winter, but the way they maintain their course, and the fact that no one lets you know if the situation is extremely upsetting. The group I went with didn't even bother finishing their round. I will be extremely hesitant to revisit Pine Trace, which is a shame since it is so close to my house. Please, make sure you check on course conditions before even considering playing a round here.

Played Pine Trace on September 28th. Course was in excellent condition. Greens were smooth and true, probably the best greens I have played this year. Pace of play was not an issue as I was the 3rd person off as a single. Only complaint was one of the two singles in front of me that was not repairing ball marks. He was a good golfer as most of the damage was within 12 feet of the flag stick. I repaired 9 ball marks beside mine. I mentioned it to the starter so they can mention something to him if he is a regular.

We have hosted our golf outing at Pine Trace three times over the last five years. We plan on hosting our 2016 event there next summer. All of the employees treat us like members and we never have to worry about anything ever being unorganized. From top to bottom, the employees are all a joy to be around and they make sure we are taken care of from the moment we arrive to the moment we leave. It is very important that the course is in pristine condition when we play and they do a good job of keeping the grounds in order.

Our group recently held an outing at Pine Trace and management and staff were very friendly and accommodating, providing a first-class experience in the clubhouse, on the patio and out on the course. Even as we bogged things down with our occasional slow play, management adeptly shuffled groups and tee times around to keep things moving and make sure everyone was having a good time. I look forward to our next event at Pine Trace -- and hopefully keeping a few more shots in play!

Baffled by many of the negative reviews here. I've played all over Oakland County and Pine Trace is probably my favorite course. Attractive, challenging but fair, and in great shape. The staff in the pro shop and the bar (excellent beer selection!) is the friendliest I've encountered. Great golf experience in every way.

Lots of mixed reviews.... but I think I figured out what the problem is. If you are a shi%%y golfer, DON'T COME PLAY HERE. You will ruin everyone else's day spending 20 min/hole looking for your ball in the woods. Pine Trace is a premium course for the area. At $65 a round, I want soft sand, elevation changes, fairways I can take a divot, par 5's that actually take me 3 shots to get there, etc etc. This course provides all that. The ranger was active, which I was impressed with. I enjoyed the course and it's Up North feel, mature trees, and challanging layout. At $65, it's a bit on the spendy side for Detroit Metro, but I had no complaints. (played on 6/24/12). Oh, and only complaint really was the excessive goose crap on #10 and #11. I know you can't really control that....

We recently had a group outing at Pine Trace. The staff was incredibly friendly and extremely accommodating. I felt very welcome at all times during the event. Thank you to Pine Trace for allowing us to come out. Top Notch.

Course in great shape. Only issue was ball marks on Greens. I repaired 4 on every hole. Many were fresh. Starters and rest of staff very nice.

Course was in good condition, however, going from hole to hole was confusing. Signage was VERY poor

Amazing staff. Amazing people I worked with, all of them. An amazing owner as well :) He taught me some important life lessons when I parted with their company that has molded my character in strength.

Played Pine Trace over the holiday weekend. Course was in great shape and the greens were in great shape, some of the best I've seen all year. Great Job!

Played Pine Trace on 4/11/15 this year. Beautiful course but pace of play was completely unacceptable. Our tee time was scheduled for 9:50am, we didn't end up teeing off until 10:15am as they were already backed up. Every tee box we came up to, the group in front of us was just teeing off. We waited about 5-8 mins at every hole, just for the other group to take their second shot. This delay was not because of the group in front of us, as they were waiting for another group in front of them. We had to call the club house 3 times during our round to attempt at getting the ranger to speed up the kink somewhere, but it never happened. The only negative I have for the course itself is, they don't have 150 yard poles on the holes, instead they have colored sprinkler heads that you have to really search to find. This is a common proponent to slow play, as the 150 markers help greatly in speeding all groups up. Again, I enjoyed the course but I will NEVER play here again. It was agonizing getting through this round. I hope the management reads this review and fixes this issue, as this course will go to waste otherwise.

Pamela Stokes

Nice course great service. Club house nicely stocked.

good seevice. not busy. besutiful course. The couse is a bit confusing as it is tough to follow the next hole. Thanks to the staff they found my lost club.

I have no idea why in the world this course has only averaged 3 stars on this site... This is a fun little track that offers a pretty exciting round of golf. I have played this course several times now and even though the course has been mostly victorious during my outings, I have still have a great time. It is not very long (only about 6,000 from the blues), but it forces you to place the ball well from the tee. There are several holes where only a few yards can make the difference between a birdie chance and struggling for a bogey. There is one par 3 that is only 110 yards, but I have yet to birdie this thing because it has a very difficult green and they keep placing the pin on a raised section of the green that is only about 7 yards wide! Every time I hit a shot into this hole, I either miss left or my ball filters down into a low section on the right of the green and I struggle for a 2 putt. The course itself is well maintained with very nice fairways and greens (the greens are pretty fast). There are also several bunkers on this course that are strategically placed to give the course a nice look and added challenge. The only thing that I can really see driving this course's rating down a little could be the price. It is not the cheapest place in the world to play, but my though is that you get what you pay for at a place like this... Honestly, it's a little pricey for me at this point (which is why I have only played it a few times this year) but I do enjoy it when I go.

Alex Kytsyk

Awful place to play, the course is in terrible shape and they will charge you for even 1 person not showing up. Pace of play is slow and pro shop employees are rude and unhelpful.

loved the Course and everybody lnvolved.l give a 5 star.

Jon Clancy

Course in great shape great time had by all

Al Miller

The club has excellent food with top notch courses and driving range.

Thomas McGraw

Rated one star because of terrible pace of play. It took five hours to play 18 holes. We started 15 minutes late and it was slow all the way through. Course must insist on better etiquette by players or get a ranger out there to keep play moving along. My friend and I will never play there again.

Kate L

Always a great time at Pine Trace. Well maintained, friendly staff, great dining facility and beautiful outdoor space for special events like weddings, showers, parties. Pace of play is great during the week (can’t speak for weekends as we don’t play there then). Highly recommend.

Steve S

Pro shop employees are rude from me big arguments about green fee. With older man how disrespect . I don’t care how good course is . I think he’s assistant manager . Never go that place again.

Matt B

If you’re looking to pay 65 bucks for a $25 course that takes 4 hours to play 9, then this is your course. Paid for 18 and they told us to re-play the front because the pace was so slow. For 65 bucks you should be able to play 18 different holes. 5 groups on one tee box. Will never be back
