Just an OK course. It is nice that they were open Christmas Eve day to golf, but in the summer the course is not the best kept. The par 3 course is very neglected and the prices they charge are really extremely high for the quality of experience. The clubhouse is run down, like a very old dive bar. The food is barely passable.

James Farleigh

Pleasantly surprised by the challenge and the layout. Several tight fairways and the par 5s are longer than most. The greens are large but fair. The staff was great. We'll be back soon.

This course has always been my preferred local destination It's nice and open, always in great shape and forgiving for the casual golfer. The relaxed atmosphere at this course makes for a wonderful afternoon of golf. Today I took my friend's 12 year old son for his first golf experience and Beth Ann in the pro shop could not be more helpful! She took time to explain the available youth program and showed a genuine interest in making sure my young friend enjoyed his day! Very much appreciated!

My dad and I decided to play a quick 9 holes yesterday before watching the second half of the football game.I have played at HH a handful of times and usually it is a decent course. We are not good golfers but we do enjoy just going out on a beautiful day. We decided to just do the precision course with cart for $19 a person to get done a little quicker, this was our mistake... The course was in HORRIBLE conditions. First of all, there were no tee boxes cut out and no markers were out to delineate tees. It looked like it hadn't been mowed in a week. The same applies for the fairways. Not mowed and divots everywhere. Probably the worse part, however, were the greens. There were patches, unevenness, and even dead spots on the greens. The main course is fun and usually in good condition but I cannot recommend the executive course to anyone. I have done several precision/executive courses and this is BY FAR the worst one I have been on.

I have been playing Heather for yrs...and she's been taking some unwarranted shots.. every course in the area have been suffering . either winter damage or lack of rounds. Captains Clubs; Tee boxes, greens and traps were in poor condition last season. Shepard's Hallow, Dunham hills, all endured some set back heck, Dunham has moved tees way up. Heather is 23 for nine and a cart...that is a going rate if not below....I'm sick of people looking for cheap golf... you pay for what you get. Heather has away had the course in good to excellent condition . it's playable with long straight fairways and receptacle greens to very challenging par 5s and 3s. Surprise elevations and tricky doglegs heather has owners that care about the course and they are working to bring it back to its prominence in Michigan. Yes they have close the executive course...this is a sign ownership is focused on what is important...18 solid holes. I highly recommend you add this course to your play list. especially if you have a 'Usual Suspects" golf group like I play with. If you're bitching about price....place somewhere else...

Great course, knowledgeable and courteous staff make it awesome! The key playing this course is to stay at fairways -- it requires solid tee shot. Rough grass is long and the shot from there could be very tough -- you will have hard time in finding your balls! Back tees are very challenging. If you score low here you can consider yourself a good golfer ... I have played there quite a lot and had some good luck!

Considering the price, this course is below average. Clubhouse/carts are dated....there are better values out there.

If I could leave zero stars I would, let me begin. First of all when we arrived at the course the woman working the counter was extremely rude, we had a 1230 tee time and she was rushing us to turn by three even though there was a four and two some right in front of us. After that she gave me a cart filed with trash and broken tees all over the place what class. Don't even get me started with the course, when walking up to the first tee it was filled with weeds a simple fix one would think and by the time we got to the greens it was covered with snow moss. this course is poorly managed and even if golf now had a free tee time I would not book it don't event try to tell me this course is top 20 in Michigan what a joke stay away from this place far far away.

I have been here a few times and wanted to write an updated review from 2 years ago. Right when you walk in the door the experience is awesome because of the staff. Very courteous and helpful. This course has red, white, blue and black, championship tees. I believe the whites are short and great for average golfer. The blues are just right for your 5-12 handicappers. There is a good mix of hard (tree lined), fun (driveable) and easy (reachable par 5s). They also have a driving range and an executive course. The executive course is nothing but easy, short holes. Great for beginners and kids. You can even bring out kids for free on Sunday!! Find a great deal on GolfNow and it makes it worth the drive!!

Great local course.

I usually try to be polite because it's been a rough early season for most courses. But what we encountered today was brutal. Overgrown bunkers, they've lost a lot of the greens, like putting on your carpet in your house. Unplayable rough. Weed infested bunkers and tee boxes. Sad more than Anything, used to be a decent track. They should be charging about 15 bucks at the most instead of the 26 we were charged. We will not be back. Staff was friendly enough, and they have great hot dogs. Some of the little things that I notice, going after the round to wash up, men's bathroom was filthy, garbage receptacle overflowing. And I'm pretty sure that wasn't from today cuz there was only about five cars in the parking lot

Very sad! Decided to play the course I played on as a kid. It was just sad. Every bunker overgrown with weeds, greens had dead areas grass, and worst of all, the clubhouse is the same. Not even close to being worth the $40 I paid to play. It’s run down and old. This could be a beautiful course! It’s a complete shame what the owners have done to the place.

Heather Highlands has always been a favorite of mine. The greens were large and fast. It was never in perfect shape but always well worth the money. I played Sunday morning. The putting green look like it hadn't been cut all year, certainly the cups had been there since it opened this year. This is more than can be explained away by the lousy spring we have had. The whole course is suffering. Although they were out spraying it will take a long time to come back. There was so much clover that we spent way too much time looking for balls. I won't be back until I hear that there is a huge improvement.

Ok course but could be better maintained. Good place if u have beginner with u

The course is in great condition, my hat off to the grounds crew. The rough is a bit long for my liking, I guess I should keep it on the fairways. The greens are flawless!!! The staff is very polite, you get what you pay for.

Our favorite place to play for over 30 years.

Back country course weeds in the sand traps moss on the greens but i did feel like i was the only one out there

Scott Kelley

Great course! Well kept and friendly staff.

Challenging course.

25May2014 It's been a couple years since I've played this course. I enjoyed it then and played it often. Played it this weekend and wow was I disappointed. This course was not presentable to have players on the course. A major dandilion problem they don't seem to want to deal with even on the T boxes. Many days behind on the mowing. At noon on the back 9 we had a big tractor mow beside us mowing 6" of grass, another guy drove a mower behind my friend 20 yards as he was about to chip and 2 young guys with weed whippers. Spoke to "Director of golf" Tom Voyer about the lack of care in a potentially great course again. He had a "ok, what ever dude" attitude but agreed the course condition was not good. It's no way even close to the $45 for 18 holes they charged. Too many other courses in the area to chose from to play a game of golf with a great experience.

Mike Dobson

Staff was great but the course itself has some maintenance issues. Unless you're dead straight in the fairways and land on the green, you will be spending lots of time searching for balls in the long thick second cut. It's sad because this course has lots of potential if it was just groomed a little more.

Sara Beach

We had a great time. We had the kids with us and they loved it too. Sunday was family day. Sam shot his best round ever. Beautiful and serene setting with very friendly people.

Tim Tovar

Well taken care of course, one of the best places to golf

Kari Charboneau

Good course. Relaxed and very pretty too! The new chef is awesome, if you haven't tried the food, you should.

Seriously pulling guns on folks?!? Oh yeah sounds like a great place. Smdh

Sad, I can remember when this was a premier course in the northern county. $45 ? For what? Bunkers overgrown with weeds mixed with gravel. Some kind of fungus on the greens making the ball bounce all the way to the hole. Rough was not cut, greens were not cut, clubhouse exterior is in disrepair. Many of us remember this as a great place with fair pricing. Please someone take charge and return this once wonderful course to it’s glory. I give up, every year the course just gets worse. Really sad for a once great course. I’ve played better course for much less!

Great Course, worth every penny!

What can I say.....I love this course and have since it was first introduced to me back in my high school days. Not extremely difficult, but the greens will definitely test you. What most people don't seem to understand is that this is a family run course. That is exactly how they treat their regulars, like family. The current staff take serious pride in providing a good experience to their customers. This course is not operated by a big golf management company that has a large financial backing. So you may have dandelions and clover. So what? Suck it up buttercup!!! This course provides a great test of golf, an extremely friendly staff and cold beer!!!!! What else do you really need? They have made a customer for life!!!!! Keep it up!

Brandon Bellant

This course needs a ton of attention. The greens are in horrible shape. Bald patches everywhere. The cart paths for the most part in my opinion require the golf carts to have an installed seat belt. Golf cart was filthy. Landscaping was in complete disarray. 24$ for a 9 hole and cart is atrocious for the condition of this course. Bathrooms on the course look like they've been installed back in the 70's. The most disturbing thing about this course is that the tee boxes were in shambles. If you absolutely need to golf here, make sure you bring your favorite ball, the club house has a ridiculously small selection of balls. All of which are priced at 1$ per ball above the price of any major retailer. Overall, I've deficated in better places than the shape of this course.

Anthony Pinner

Haven't played this course in 20 years. WOW ,what happened. Weeds everywhere, greens diseased, course in dis-repair. Sad, as I worked there as a teen. 2 Dogs and 3 beers, 23 bucks. Crazy. Clubhouse looks like it needs to be condemned. Toilet didn't flush. 58 bucks for 2 players 18 holes. This course isn't worth 15 a round.

Had a great experience at Heather Highlands. The "home away from home" ambiance and professional-grade service and quality is second-to-none in eastern Michigan. Highly recommended.

Josh Duncan

Best value around. Great course with a wonderful layout. The haters here are insane as this course is a true classic and is always in great shape. The staff is friendly and warm. Never had a bad experience there and the people that run the place have busted their butts for 50 years. That's love. Five stars.
