REVIEWS OF Gull Lake View Golf Club & Resort IN Michigan

Jeff Ellenwood

Nice selection of courses but tee times are placed to close and price is little too much. Cart fees should already be included in the price

James Miller

Outstanding courses, truly outstanding head pro. Good place to eat lunch or dimmer

John Machesky

Pretty course, mostly open, and advanced golf carts.

Ben Buckmaster

Very well kept course

Matt Lennington

19th Annual Guy's Weekend was a blast. GLV goes out of their way to make it enjoyable every year.

Justin Jones

Great golf course! In excellent condition!

Bear Priest

Very nice course. Reserve her times online to save on green fees.

Patrick Mullin

Three courses are beautiful. And there's four of them, so you can take a long weekend and never play the same course twice.

Dustin Mudrak

Be aware of the cart fee scam here! We play all over and this past summer our group stayed at this resort for a stay and play. The resort is convenient with having the villas and bar/restaurant right on the property but this was our first experience being strong armed into paying an extra cost for cart fees! It set the mood for our group that this place has become slightly shady in their deals. We prepay for our villas, we prepay for our set number of rounds, we prepay for our cookout but yeah lets just wait to pay for our carts...yeah that makes sense. My advise to the staff is that golf packages should always have the cart fee priced in! We go to pay once and then forget about he cost and just have fun. I know you guys are starting to get a bit expensive in your rates, especially after the investment in your new course but the bait and switch tactic will only get guys like me writing reviews like this.

It's a great place to stay a few nights with some friends and go golfing, the rooms are really nice and clean too

Mike Higdon

A mature course that is well tended. Some challenging doglegs with undulating terrain and greens that will test your flat stick. Looking forward to playing the back nine on the west course as well as the East course. Nice golf operation!

Brice Jenkins

They have a great soccer golf course and it is set further apart from the regular golfers so you don't have to disrupt each others' play.

Suzanne Butler

Manager told us we don't care about you. Don't come back

Bryn Jones

This was our 4th trip to the resort and the staff and courses are pretty good overall. One glaring issue our group had was with the cart fees. Our group paid for everything including one dinner in advance. Yet when our group arrived at the first tee we were all forced to pay cart fees. We paid the same if not more than previous years, and this year they must have changed their policy on what is all inclusive. We all had to pay an extra $90 for cart fees when all previous trips it was included. We talked to several other groups that experienced the same bait and switch tactic. It's not about the money, it's that this was a very shady way to operate a business. When we called the manager they seemed to be ready for the complaint and had all their bullet points ready. (guessing it must happen all the time) Whenever a manager says "check the contract" instead of listening to a customers issue, there's a problem. We even had email communications specifically requesting a package where everything was included. We will no longer be going back, which is a shame because it isn't about the money. It's about the principalities of the whole thing. They will lose $9,000 from our group next year because of shady business practices to make an extra $1,000.

Played the east course. Challenging and fun.

Always enjoy playing here, the courses are in great condition despite the challenging Michigan weather. Green fees are fair and it rarely seems over crowded. Quick check-in and good on course directions. Food was reasonable and fairly priced. Every member of staff encountered was cheerful and accommodating. This is a must go place for golfers in SW Michigan

Michael Ward

Awesome service, awesome golf!!

Went for a 3 day mid-week golf trip and was pleasantly surprised. The condos are not the Ritz Carleton but served their purpose. Clean and comfortable. The power did go out in our unit and had to contact the office twice to try to get it …

Then playing some golf holes afterward. All experience levels were here and seemed to take something away. Good on Ya Gull Lake View!

I have been booking my outing now almost 20 years at Gull Lake View. 6 courses to choose from, reasonable pricing and a convenient location between Detroit and Chicago. Condos are perfect with 2 bedroom, 2 bath and full kitchen. Look forward to going every year and am trying to book something in September for a second visit each year. Great staff and would also like to complement Fara in the main office. Thanks and look forward to our next visit

Beautiful, challenging, well maintained courses coupled with great customer service, comfortable accommodations and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly and unpretentious. We've been playing here every year since 1986 and travel from as far away as Florida. It's the perfect destination for those looking for a golf resort that doesn't break the bank but offers some of the best golf in the region. TV's in the Villa bedrooms would be nice and a hot tub would be appreciated.

Robert Garvelink

A great spot for a buddies trip. Pace of play can be iffy but the courses are outstanding.

Good food, sandwich based menu. Not overly expensive. Will be back to eat there more.

Juli Smith

Yuck. 1979 called and they want their furnishings back. The rooms have a nice view of the golf course and that's the only nice thing. This place is perfect for 4 guys who want to golf all day and flop into bed. Our room said it was non-smoking but our room reeked of years of smoke. The bathroom had talcum powder stuck on the knockdown finish of the wall, there was a dead fly on the windowsill in the dining room and the room was just overall dark and dingy. It served our purpose for one night, but unless this is a guy's weekend, i would not stay there again. The bed was squishy and so my husband and i kept falling into each other all night but the cherry on the cake was showering in the morning and the water smelled like lake water. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.

Gregg Dost

Golf was great villas were comfortable but not very nice

Have been going here the past couple years for an annual group outing over Father's Day weekend. Everything was great. The villas are nice and spacious with living area, full kitchen, dish washer, dining table, etc. There is also a main restaurant and the food is ok. The staff is friendly and puts up with our crazy group. We also have them cookout in front of our villa for us with chicken and ribs and that is always organized quite well. There are two courses at the villas, then just down the road is Stonehedge which has two more courses. We also play at Bedford Valley which is about 20 minutes away. All of the courses are gorgeous being in the wooded hilly landscape. Each course has its own unique challenges and style to it. This makes for a great couple days of golfing because of the variety of courses available. Courses could use more beverage cart visits and a $17 per person cart fee adds up after a few rounds. Overall though we will keep coming back because of the great experiences we have had at Gull Lake View.

Bill Marra

Always fun time

Aaron Pennock

Steve ticknor

As a long time patron of all the Gull Lake View locations, I've always had a good experience with the staff and amenities

Paul Perks

Staff is awesome!

Robert Perna

We had a group of 8 head out to gull lake resort this spring. All I can say is everything is top notch. We have been to all the resorts in michigan and this is right up there with all of them. The golf courses were great, I can only imagine how they play in peak summer time. The addition of Stoatin brae was awesome. Very cool golf course and would make the trip again to just play that. The condos were perfect, it was exactly what we needed. With the being said, the customer service is what will really have me coming back. A friend left a speaker on another course, and they found us on a totally different course while playing to give it back. I also left a rangefinder in a cart and didnt notice for two weeks. Called up there expecting nothing, but the worker in the pro shop still had it and mailed it to me no problem. Top notch, Gull lake.

Ryan Dickerson

FalseConcept yes

Michael Schmit

My friends and I have been meeting at Gull Lake View Report for the past 10 years. We love the facilities and the assortment of courses, but in the past couple years we have had some service issues. The latest is regarding our set tee times. We were asked to reserve our rooms and tee times about a year prior to our trip - AND put down a deposit. Recently, they changed our tee times, and they do not work out in our favor. Not only have they not left enough time to get from one course to the other (we play 36 holes per day), but they moved us from the highly publicized Stoatin Brae to Gull Lake East. If you know these courses, you realize that Gull Lake East is the least desirable course they have to offer. You also realize that 4-hours rounds are impossible. When we called to express our concerns, they told us to pound salt. Is that a way to treat a long-time client. I think NOT!!! Obviously, the demand to play at these facilities is causing them to not care about their customers. Very short-term thinking.
