Save your money. They let me out to play without letting me know the place was pretty much under water and it hadn't rained in days! The drainage there is so poor that it feels like your walking on a wet sponge. Such a shame a town like Brookline can't take care of its municipal Golf Course.

This golf course really disappoints in 2017. The golf course is in bad shape, the staff takes no part in speeding along slow play, and there is no water available for players on the course (even when it is 90+ out). There are so many better public golf options for the same money, it is incredible that they don't try to make a better experience. The range is nice, but the actual golf is pretty bad at this course.

Course is in really rough shape and pace of play was at a crawl ~3+ hours on the front 9. Normally I wouldn't mind but the cost of a round is much too high for how poorly maintained the course is. The driving range is very nice and a little outdoor bar/ grille at the turn are great features, the rest of the course doesn't live up to the range and grille though.

They have what I would call, unfairways... hard dirt patches or odd rocks, huge drain pipes running across in multiple sections on many holes. They should really lower the price to play to $40 w/cart (and that would be pushing it) - because otherwise there’s really no reason to go back.

Awful fairways, charge too much for the shape of the course and pace of play/ lack of ranger is sub par. The only thing good about it is the driving range.Go to Newton Commonwealth instead, it's cheaper and in better shape.

One of the better municipal golf courses. Chestnut Hill golf course is well run and friendly. Great driving range, experienced taught lessons and good competitive league. Easy to get too off route 9 you'll find a bucolic linc set nicely challenging. Parking is tight so work on an early t time.

My favorite of several excellent public courses in the area. Usually in pretty good shape with friendly staff and a fun variety of holes. Not as hilly as some of the local courses and it has its share of challenging holes.

Lots of standing water in the fairways and a number of bare spots in the fairways also. It rained recently but drainage is pretty poor. It was nice that the course wasn't crowded when we went as we were able to finish in good time. Greens were in nice condition.

Super nice and affordable place for a family celebration. You don't need to be an expert to come and play golf here. The grill has delicious home cooking food. Very affordable.

3 1/2 stars. Fairly flat terrain, easy to walk. Tee boxes in good shape. #1 & #2 fairways are brown for the most part, all others ok and wide for municipal conditions. This rough is penalizing. One blind shot is #10 tee. The greens are the best part. Well manicured pool tables is how they roll, speedy. Most are two-tiered, #15 is three-tiered. The only water is two small streams on the backside that really don't come into play. This course can get soggy when rain occurs.

Conditions aren't perfect. But within Boston metro at this price, I think this place is definitely worth the cost.

At least the Greens were in good shape... everything else was disappointing. Too expensive for a course with waste bunkers and standing water in the middle of the fairways. Uneven terrain causes the mowers to scalp the tops of the fairway bumps. I talked to several starters / rangers (many of them rude) and none of them seemed to care about trying to speed up pace of play. Will not be coming back anytime soon.

Played on a Sunday with a tee time. We showed up early to hit some balls at the range. No issues checking in or paying. The full range is a great way to help warm up. We got out right at our tee time. As for the course, conditions are alright. Some fairways at the start are in need of some care, with dirt spots all over, and the greens are rough. The later holes and back 9 are in better shape. Pace of play was decent, although a ranger was giving us issues because there was an open hole ahead. We had no one pressuring us from behind, and were playing at a regular pace. It was frustrating to say the least. Overall, the course is fun to play, but needs some work. It’s not overly pricey, but the cost doesn’t necessarily represent the conditions. I’ll go back because it’s local and easy to get to, but I know there are better courses around.

This course we terrible! Where do I begin???.....Quite a few fairways are chewed up and very brown because they aren't watering them enough. Then right in the middle of our round (on the 5th hole) a instructor brings his class out on the course and they just interrupt our round and hi-jacked the hole. The greens were shaggy and didn't roll true. Last but not least there was no bug control.....For the price they charged it certainly want worth it. Big waste of time and we certainly won't be going back there ever again!!!....very disappointing!!!
