This afternoon I went to play a round of 18 at the Newton Commonwealth Golf Course, when I arrived I paid $54 for 18 holes and a cart. As I am getting ready to tee off I am approached by 2 employees, and in a very condescending tone one of the employees asks me “Do you want to come in and pay?” In which I responded “and what makes you think I didn’t?”
I showed the employee my receipt and he went on his way. No apology or acknowledgement of his mistake. I was appalled by the question and the manner in which this employee approached me and conducted himself. As a Newton resident and someone who has been golfing at the course for years, that experience left a really bad taste. That employee is a poor representation of the course.

Ouch - I will address this today Jimmy. That is not the kind of customer service we stand by and I am very surprised and disappointed. Did you at least have a good round and enjoy the beautiful weather?
Jay Miller - Director of Golf Course Operations
It was hard for me to enjoy anything for the rest of my time at the course after being received in that manner. I think what you need to do Mr. Miller, is explain to some of the guys working there that they aren’t working at some private country club where they can afford to be as prejudice and non-inclusive as they want to be. When the word “public” is present in golf course its a different ball game.
Regardless, if that was the case or not, you have a much bigger problem there within itself if you have employees working there that think that is the way you go about speaking to anyone, let alone paying customers.
