REVIEWS OF Meadow Golf Course-Peabody IN Massachusetts

John Gromkoski

As others have said the course is not an easy one particularly for a municipal course, but it is beautiful with great views. However, I had the best experience one could expect from the staff there. I played there earlier this week during a long weekend spent with the family, coming from NJ. Somehow I left a club on the course. When I realized I called the pro shop to ask if anyone found the club and spoke with Peter who I had also met while I was there. Peter said he had the club there. Peter went out of his way to personally bring the club to the post office on his own time and using his own money sent the club to me. I don't know how many others would have done that, but that says an awful lot about the great staff at this place. If you have the chance, play this course. You will not be disappointed with the course or the staff.

Green's were in good shape and fast. Fairways were in great shape. And, most tee boxes were good. Couple of the par 3 Tee's were beat up but what can you expect. And, most leaves were picked up making it easier to find my ball. Great day.

The Meadow is the best public golf course on the North Shore, period. It's challenging, fun, and offers an array of elevation changes. If you go out with a group of 20+ handicappers and have never seen the course, you're in for a long day. A group of <20 handicappers will love it though. Highly recommend!

Great for winter snowshoeing

This is a real golf course and can be a tough challenge from the back tees. Very reasonably priced and a good setting.

Best public course north of Boston. Challenging for any level of golfer. Greens are always in great shape and normally very fast. Holes 4, 5 (from back tees), 8, 13 and 18 are noteworthy. Bring your entire game. There are no easy outs at The Meadow. Staff is great. Peter runs a nice club.

Michael Dobbins

Awesome course

Glenn Sanford

Great staff at this course. Always a challenge.

Bryan Amaro

Great course

Javier Garcia

Nice, place to live, would love to get a place here

Paul Colgan

Course is in great condition and greens are smooth and fast. Problem is its far too hilly. Way too many blind drives and overall not fun for an average golfer. Constantly having to pick distances off the tee to lay up to. Would be a good challenge to a low handicap golfer but mid 90's found it difficult. U need a cart too unless u like a spot of mountaineering.

Craig Gilreath

Not a great course

Wade Sigurdson

Greens airated, but playable. Very interesting layout and challenging. Would love to play in peak condition

Paul Ricci

Wonderful course

Very nice public course. Beautiful scenery and wide variety of terrain. If you're not in shape, though, better get a cart as there are significant elevation changes and long stretches between green and next tee. You also need to hit accurately or you will lose balls and slow down play.

Very well maintained course with just the right amount of challenge.

This course is terrible. It's a public course and I'm sorry to say, most amateur weekend golfers are not single digit handicappers that can land a ball in a 10 yard wide target from anywhere. That's what you need to do on this course. The "rough" is reeds 4 feet high…if your ball goes off course even a little bit, it's gone. The greens, if you finally hit them, are ridiculously fast to give you an added bit of frustration. I admit…i'm not good enough for this course, but even if i was, I wouldn't play here. There are many nicer courses in Mass.

Great course for 18 handicap players or better. This course will eat up novice players. Get lots of practice first and then you can fully enjoy this gem of a course. I absolutely love playing this course and a few things bother the hell out of me is when I get to a well maintained green and find several ball marks... really? I try to fix as many as I can, but it slows down my game and also gets following players upset. This is mainly why I dislike novice players at a great course. They don't have many bunkers, but if you ever get in one, odds are you're in a footprint. Maybe I'll apply for a job there and work for free to police this course and get rid of these offenders. If you don't appreciate this course and don't rake the traps or fix your ball marks... don't play here, please.

A very challenging course, and extremely hilly! A few holes are, in my opinion, not very well laid out on the back nine (just my opinion but I think they could've done a lot better!) Example is hole 14 (I think)....must lay up off tee, then lay up once again unless a perfect shot is hit...it's a par 4....this could, in my opinion, be a truly exceptional par 3!....on the plus side course is usually in excellent condition... didn't care for the fact that groups are sent of the back nine in front of groups making the turn....recently played there and did the front in about two hours...got to the back and caught up with a group sent out and pace of play came to a standstill....I mean almost 30 minutes to play a hole...passed this group (they didn't offer to let up play through) only to catch up to another group that was taking forever....this is a very challenging course from all tees....

Great place to golf! Well maintained with a great staff! The par 3 tees in the first 9 are a great addition!

Hate this course. Expensive and too challenging for avg player. Really unfair layout

Arthur Robbins

Wonderful challenging course, a pride for Peabody. Well run with very friendly staff that treat you like it was a private club.

Excellent course for the price. Overall it was very well maintained and rather unforgiving. With the exception of the first 4 holes or so, errant shots are punished by the deep fescue and thick woods. The pictures online do not do the course justice as there are many great views from the tee boxes. I would not recommend walking this course in the heat as it is very, very hilly and starts to take a toll on you.

Brett Bertwell

Scott Torrey

It's a tough course if you've never played it before. There's a few holes that can eat you up, but overall it's the best municipal course on the North Shore. You just need to know when to leave the driver in the bag. It's true about ball marks on the greens, people that don't fix their ball marks suck!
