I was here today with three close friends. We are young professionals and treated the course very well, following each rule explained to us (ex. keeping our carts 10 feet away from the green at all times). The weather was lovely and the course is beautiful. Very well maintained, well laid out, overall stunning.
The only downside of our entire time at the Fresh Pond Golf Course was the rangers unprofessional attitudes. We were aggressively asked for our receipts after being called to the green for our tee time even though we still stood behind the group ahead of us for 5-10 minutes. (This would be a common theme for the day). The ranger continued to watch us tee off the entire time from his golf cart as if we were doing something wrong. A few holes later, we were waiting for the group ahead of us to move down the fairway so we could begin on that hole. Another ranger came over in a golf cart and angrily told us “to move it along because we’re causing a backup.” We informed him that the group ahead of us were in the way so we were waiting for them to move along. He was indignant and stormed off (in his golf cart). He was also driving around the course with a dog which barked frequently and caused quite a disturbance. Two holes later, we were stuck waiting for a hole for 5-10 minutes while the group ahead of us were still teeing off. The same usher drove past them multiple times and didn’t say anything to the group ahead of us about needing “to move it along.” He just drove right on past while we waited for holes 7, 8, and 9.
I’ve been golfing for a few years and I’ve never been treated as poorly than by the rangers at the fresh pond golf course. I will definitely not return. There are public golf courses in the area that treat their customers with respect and decency. Please take your money elsewhere.
Upon reading other reviews, this seems to be a reoccurring problem with a certain ranger. Unfortunately we did not get the rangers name.
