I've heard a lot of great reviews regarding the golf course at Rasberry Falls, and unfortunately after my day out here, I'll admit that I was a bit disappointed.
Many reviews mentioned the excellent service at this club, but the service I received was sub par at best. Although there was plenty of outside staff on hand during my return and after my round, no individuals asked to help with my bag. I put my bag on and off the cart myself. This isn't a big deal at most public clubs in the area, but when you have 3-4 outside staff available at a slow time on the course, taking golf bags, loading them on the cart, etc. should be considered bare minimum standards. In addition, the assistant in the golf shop was extremely slow. It took me 20 mins to pay for my round and purchase a dozen golfballs when there were no calls into the shop and I was the only person in the shop.
With regards to the course, there are some great holes (mainly on the back nine). This is a course that often favors individuals who cut/fade the ball, so there are plenty of holes where you can get lucky if you don't hit it straight. The course was in good shape considering I played in the middle of July, however, I had some big issues when I noticed some big rocks (some the size of my fist) and garbage in a number of bunkers. To me, large rocks and stones in the trap are blatent oversights by the crew's staff.
I'll admit that the layout of the course is one of the better layouts in the area, however, the actual course and the service fell far below the reputation of this course.
