Good layout. Not good conditions. Many dead areas on the greens and the tee boxes are a disaster. Definitely not worth the $100 they’re charging on the weekends. Guess I’ll try again in a few years.

Great layout and the staff is very accomidating. However, they have widespread turf problems. Many fairways are virtually unplayable. Large areas devoid of grass. Just moist black dirt. I assume it's some sort of turf disease. I'm sure they will get it squared away but in the mean time beware.

I live in the BeechTree neighborhood so this is actually my "home golf course". The staff is great! The Clubhouse food is really good (and reasonably priced). Plus, the drink selection is better than most clubhouses that I've been to. The course itself is in immaculate shape now; boxes, fairways & greens. The groundskeepers keep the layout challenging with different pin & tee locations every day. My only knock is: you don't see Rangers too often, but even when you do, they aren't hard-nosed enough to rush a slow group along... they're more like "Officer Friendly's". They drive by and they're apologetic if you're having a long round. They usually identify the culprits, but their resolution is that they gave them helpful hints on how to be "ready golfers". They need to be making them skip holes to get back in position. I've only had a few looooong rounds, and it's usually because of one group. Nobody particularly likes seeing the Ranger, but they should be throwing their weight around.

Played here on a Sunday in September 2018 and I would visit again. As a bogie golfer I found playing from the blues challenging. The staff were friendly in the pro shop a well as snack bar / restaurant. I rented clubs and they gave me a nice set of Cleavands with 2 sleeves of Srixon balls which I thought was very nice. Some of the tee boxes were in tough shape but overall the course was in good shape, the rough is LONG and I found almost a dozen balls while looking for my shots that misses the fairway. I found the club house to be very nice even though as you pull up it doesn't look that impressive. All in all I liked my experience here. Pro's......Nice layout, nice clubhouse, friendly staff and a grass range. Con's........round was way too long.....over 5 hours. A group of 22 went off in front of us and the starter didn't realize they all teed off together!! Yes...all 22 watched everyone tee off on the first hole. That put us 25 minutes behind right out of the gate!! The course was not in great shape. Although we hadn't had any rain for about a week the course was extremely wet in certain areas and there were 6 inch weeds growing in the fairways. Greens were average....some good some horrible. They have a grill between 9 and 10 which is nice but when we got there, they had no water, no beer and the hot dogs had just don on the grill....10 minute wait if we wanted one. The only reason we will go back is because the GM gave us a free round due to the fact we had to play behind a group of idiots. Queenstown Lakes is $74 and a 10X's better course!!

Played the course a few weeks ago. Every fairway is full of divots, looks like the game of polo has been played on the course. Can someone please make a suggestion to have them put divot repair in the golf carts, horrible! Greens are slow, bumpy and the tee boxes have no grass and full of sand. I asked the assistant pro "what happened to the course", his comment was "most people are giving it great reviews."...REALLY!! Do yourself a favor and do not go there. #2 rated in MD, I do not think so.

Lake Presidential was a nice track for a first visit. They are in recovery mode since losing their greens and fairways from my understanding. The course is in great shape and the newly aerated greens will be rolling quite fast as they fill in. They were only cart path only today, but it was worth it. If I lived in the area, I would be a constant customer.

The staff was excellent the cashbar was a little pricey, but there definitely wasn't enough seating for 130 people,only 4 round tables for a 50th birthday party wasn't a good look. Folk 50 years plus need a seat! Especially at the bar. Smh

I didn't like the fact that we were told this was an "open house" but barely explained what an open house was! It would be nice if the only rep that you have that deals with weddings worked with couples who do not have the typical schedule to get off on weekdays to see your venue! It was a very unpleasant experience to walk in like a chicken with your heads cut off not knowing where to go or who to speak to. Then given a cold shoulder by the other staff as if we weren't supposed to be there. Very unwelcoming, belittling experience! I would NEVER recommend this place for a wedding or any other function!

For having record amounts of rain right before we got there, the course was in great shape. I don't know what the regular rate was but whatever we paid was a bargain. Beautiful and challenging enough course to make you work but not so much that you want to quit golf.

wow. I have heard good things about this place. played today. one of the worst course around Maryland. the greens are all dried up and patches of dirt everywhere. maybe for $10 is ok. never going back

Fun course, good condition. Place is poorly managed though -expect some chaos. 5.5 hour pace this weekend, not a Marshall or any other staff in sight. Greens fees never what was quoted, sometimes works for you sometimes against. Starters and food staff can be laughably poor. So come for the golf if you can maintain humor and patience with the rest at a place that charges what these guys do.

Very nice golf course but also very difficult. Club house has been updated and looks great inside. However, the food is below par. I have not been happy with 80 percent of what I ordered. Whole foods has better food.

This is a nice place. Spoke with a hostess the Week of Feb 27, 2017, and she confirmed the clubhouse is undergoing a renovation. Anxious to see what's in store. The interior is very nice, and perhaps what one would expect from a country club in a gorgeous residential development.

Working with client purchasing in Beech Tree community. Discovered tactics of one particular builder there to be totally unprofessional and a disadvantage to customers. Please always work with a sharp and experienced Realtor to result in saving YOU money, knows the process, and gets you a lower interest rate, no points and closing help :).

Very nice course with very helpful and friendly golf staff. Not sure why there was no water on the course and why the cart girl left at two with people on the course. Service in the restaurant was slow and very unorganized. Food was ok. After the round sat at the bar a few minutes then told it was closed. Should have been a sign stating it closed at 730. People still on the course, wonder why they closed.

Played here on 11/18. Knew about the poor course conditions. And indeed much of the course was in poor repair some fairways with more bare patches than grass. Decided to play here to take advantage of a web offer on their site for a coupon for a $25 replay hopefully when the course might be in better condition. Was surprised at the course to be told they weren't honoring their offer. We'll that seems like bad and deceptive business practice. Not likely to recommend this course.

Good public golf course experience! Yes while it's expensive, it's worth the cost: friendly pro shop staff, knowledgeable PGA pros, and fun layout. It is not a municipal course! I believe that the better courses are indeed expensive; how else to discourage cheap/weak golfers and their negative outlooks

A very very difficult course with one of my favorite layouts of all time, I still think that Lake Presidential is one of the most underrated golf courses in the DC Metropolitan Area. The good news about that is obviously that the course is less crowded as result. I would highly recommend this course though not without a dose of caution: it is a tough eighteen!

Played there today. The worst course I have ever played on. They said they are working on it. Not sure how there working on it or how they let it get that bad? Tuesday morning, and not one person trying to work on course. Don't waste your money. If I could have given it a zero star, I would've.

Workers are really rude a lot of ego issues too. It's got a nice practice facility but have had issues with getting balls. When I pay the price for them I expect to get all the balls. Not told to go down to the range and there be nothing at all Hopefully in the future things get better

Course conditions were pretty bad. Tee boxes and fairways were browned out. Greens were in decent shape. Clubhouse staff was great but the restaurant was a disaster, both at the turn and after the round. No chance I’m coming back for a few years. Hope they get it figured out. It’s a nice layout, and the clubhouse is great, but not worth the price.

Lake Prez is in it’s Very Best condition since 2010-2011 !!!! The greens are great ,not a blemish on the fairways... I played Today!!!! Get over there. I have not seen the golf course in this great shape in many many years ... When I go back on Sunday (Father’s Day) I’m wearing my Footjoy Premier leather shoes, (Olscool) baby !!! Seriously though .. get over there and play.. Hreat condition. 6/12/18.

Pretty to look at but hard to play. Beautiful course with some of the most picturesque golf holes in the area! Conditions have greatly improved over the past 12 months. Very professional and courteous staff from the pro shop to the snack bar. The only drawback was having to keep the cart in the path for the entire round. I plan on on playing there again before the season ends.

Would love to give it 0 stars but can't. Not worth the price and always in poor shape (especially the fairways and greens). I hate seeing people cheated out of money and that is exactly what this course does. I recommend saving your money and making a trip to Laurel Hill, Whiskey Creek, or Bulle Rock if you want to play on a high quality public course. The layout is very scenic and there are some great holes but too many corners cut when it comes to course maintenance. I assume anyone giving this 4 or 5 stars has ties to the course and is attempting to cover up Lake Presidential's laziness.

While this is a nice golf course, this is not a $75-$90 golf course, which is what they charge. For that kind of money, I expect a GPS golf cart along with an impecable course. I generally judge a golf course based on value. For me, the price doesn't match the experience. Until the price comes down, save your money.

I'm surprised to see negative reviews of this course. Maybe it was in rougher shape a couple years ago, but I've played it twice in the past couple months and it's in very good condition now. Great layout, not long but challenges golfers with position play throughout. Pace of play has been pretty good, and the staff are very professional/helpful. Highly recommended.

Entire staff is so friendly, supportive and professional from the Pro Shop, Starter, Cart Girl and all of the maintenance crew. I love this course especially when you can ride 90 degrees to your ball. I've had the food here also, need to bring Wifey over for dinner.

The course was not in good shape at all. I have played it when it was in much better shape and right now it needs some attention. Tee boxes (white) are beat up and barely have grass. A lot of the greens have burned edges and the most of the rough looks like the hazard area. Fairways were decent. Beautiful course layout, just wish it was in much better shape. May need to go back to cart path only in order to bring this gem back to life.

Beautiful course, there are a few little areas under transition - which they are working on with sod or some such - but all in all, one of the best around. Certainly the best I've ever played on a regular basis. Not sure comments about length - I get plenty of challenge from the blues and I drive it 260-280. The tips are 7100 I think. Plus There are so many different looks to keep you twisting. bad shots get punished pretty judiciously. #8 Par 5 hard to keep it on the fairway. Super friendly staff. Absolutely Love this course. Also Re: Older reviews - this course has been under Billy Casper management for last 2 years. From what I understand, old mgmt company not so great.. if you look - everything from within the past year or so is very positive. I played once and Joined as a member; it's that good. Plus huge bonus - grass driving range! one of the few in the area.. mats don't tell you when you're hitting fat..... 5 Start golf experience.

Not my favorite design, narrrow fairways, blind shots and vey few flat lies even from the middle of the fairway. Apparently the course was in really bad shape last year and they are working hard to get it back but there's a lot of bad burned out spots in fairways and even tee boxes as of 7/7/2017. Staff were all super nice and really trying to talk up the course but its a tough sell. Cart path only makes it a long round and they have no plans to change it till the course is in better shape and for the price its just not worth it yet but maybe down the road it will be.
