The islands is a nice course but kids fishing on the second hole around my drive distance. Played 18 and they allowed 12 guys to play one hole together. If you like golf do not play here at the normal rules do not apply

The Island Country Club rated 3-1/2 stars is laid out on a former sugar cane plantation. There's not too much to see beyond the course, with flat farmland stretching away to the north and the mainly tree-screened Bayou Plaquemine occasionally in view on the southside of the course - an enjoyably open and challenging layout, not least if the wind is blowing, although not necessarily one of the Audubon Golf Trail's most picturesque and scenic layouts.

Not a golfer,went ther to the restaurant to just get a to go order,I work near ther,the food was really good and the ladies in ther working were extremely kind.Im probably not gonna pick up golf but I will be back to eat again

A fun layout but on the short side. 70% of greens had bare spots....surprising for mid-April. Expected a little better conditions for the price. Better bring some bug spray or the gnats will chase you off since there is water on most holes. May give it a while before I try again due to conditions.

This is a good gold course that has fallen off as of late. The layout is nice, it's got some tough holes, a lot of runoffs into water, and the risk reward is definitely there for better players. However... over the last 3 or so years the conditions have degraded considerably. A few years ago it was my favorite course in the area. I don't mind driving a bit farther to get great greens that were smooth and fast. But when I bbn played there recently, the greens were awful. Bumpy, patchy, no telling where the ball is going after u hit it. The bunkers are atrocious, no prep at all. There were weeds growing everywhere. And there was basically no good lies for approach shots. The rough is inconsistent altogether and even in the fairway the ball is sitting down more often than not. I would not recommend going there and spending your golf money on a course where the maintenance staff has clearly checked out. I hope that someone there reads this and does something about it. I miss the good conditions that we used to get out there and I'm sure that the life can be breathed back into a great course.

The tournament management screwed up the Wounded Warriors tournament so much they didn't even remember they were having the tournament. However the pro shop clerk was friendly and helped us some. Also, half the course was closed do to aeration.

The chef prepared a special order of grilled vegetables with angel hair pasta which was vegan and wonderful. The staff was friendly and the iced tea flows abundantly. There are plenty of options to satisfy anyone's tastes, and a nice outlook on to the golf course.

The greens were very inconsistent and in places bare. Despite a lack of rain recently several areas in front of the greens were very muddy, probably the result of sprinkler issues or poor drainage. Pin placements were questionable. Not recommended.
