This review is for the restaurant ONLY! It has absolutely no reflection of the Golf Club itself. Who on God's green earth is running the eatery as I have never experienced such poor service. I don't normally go into detail for my reviews (and I review a lot) but you GOTTA hear this. I made a reservation for 2 for the Louisville vs Auburn football game and once we arrived, we stood there for about 10 min while staff walked AROUND us. No one ask how can I help you or anything. We have been there often and this was a surprise to us. I finally caught up to a staff member who went to get us help from whom I now know as a management person. She literally yelled to the staff that my husband and I had not been waited on. I did thank her, but I think she could have pulled someone to the side to alert them as opposed to yelling. After we were addressed we ended up seating ourselves after all and getting our own utensils. For some unknown reason, our waiter never gave us eating utensils. We seated ourselves in front of a flat screen TV (what we thought it was the best seat in the house). The problem was it was also where some Einstein decided to place the buffet table. WHO DOES THAT? For the entire 1st half of the game we could not see the game for people continuously getting food from the buffet table AND workers working to keep the buffet table stocked. No fault to either of them. There was a whole other room with NO ONE in it where they could have placed the buffet table as on previous visits, that is where the buffet table was placed. Why they chose to place it in front of a TV with the game on is beyond me. We had had it by the end of the first half and ask for our check. Now here is what took the cake! We paid the waiter and he ask do you need change and we said YES. He brought our change back but something didn't add up. We counted and recounted and we were short. I looked around to see where our waiter was only to find him at the bar "chatting" with the fellas. I approached him with the receipt and the change he gave back us and explained that we were short. To my shock, he immediately says, "I didn't have change". I said, excuse me? He said I didn't have change. I said, well, you can't just keep my money. He says I'm so sorry, I can give you this amount (which would have been a few CENTS more than what he was suppose to give me), would you like that? I ask, why would you not have offered that in the first place or better yet, let me know that you didn't have change? Either way it goes, you can't just keep customers money. He apologized and reluctantly gave me the extra change. I was so upset that I ask for a manager before I left. The same lady who yelled for someone to assist me came out. I explained to her the whole chain of events especially the behavior of the waiter and her response to me was that she will speak with him. The service that we received does not match the beautiful facilities and worst of all, it has the University of Louisville's name all over it. What a shame. I certainly hope that they get it together.
