Shawnee golf course is one of the lower end places to golf in Louisville. It used to be real nice years ago but is very outdated and old. The prices should be going DOWN like the golf course itself, not up!!! Metro parks is slipping because this location is popular and centralized. PLEASE close for renovations.

Greens was poor at best,very inconsistent like they needed sand and rolling bad. The sand traps was hard as concrete and the rough had so much loose grass that it would eat a ball. Never have I seen loose grass all over the place like the grass cutter quit and no one else knew what to do. The fairways are wide, but the tee boxes were destroyed. Sorry I was expecting better

Absolutely terrible. Unmaintained all over. Looks like they need more landscaping help. Grass all over the cart paths, fairways were dried out, most holes aren't even marked. Way too much money to play this course. I will not be back.

Dummy factor on this course is very very high for anyone with even moderate golfing ability... it is quite annoying. Busy holiday was understandable but, two fivesomes on the course and seeing three foursomes stacked on majority of the holes was too much....played 2.5 holes in 1 hour and that was the limit. Provided a weekday only raincheck on a holiday that is good for 60 days...thanks but no thanks.

Wanted a pretty easy course to go to. It's enough to be a challenging one for experienced players as it turns out. Wasn't too much to handle but still a challenge. All the greens were in great shape, and tee boxes were in good shape too. But, the fairways were not very good. They were pretty dry, hard, and beat up. No consistent spots of actual grass or green color on almost all of them. If the fairways could be a lot better, it'd for sure be a course to go back to, but because fairways are a significant part of golf, I'll be looking for many other local selections that are bound to have much better fairways compared to Shawnee.

One of the best public courses in Louisville. The bunkers could use some work but the rest of the course is always in great shape. Very flat course so it's easy to walk. On weekdays you can play fast, I can get 18 in just under 3 hours.

This place is old and ready to be torn down. My daughter rented the something on the golf course called a building. I was so disappointed with this place and felt the condition it was in should have never been used less known paid for by any party planner. On, where to start the bathroom heat heat on hell, it's was dirty and had a funny smell. The suppose to be kitchen area was a crawl space for rodents and I think the carpet was made from paper mache. The sitting area was freezing and in depressed need of a coat of paint along with other cleaning..... Rephrase deep cleaning. I guess now that the building is run down they don't care who utilize the room.it's just a way of making money to benefit them until they get sued over faulty issues that's really going on inside the building.... In my opinion RUN AWAY

I typically play Sleepy Hollow or Cherokee. Those are in wayyyy better shape than Shawnee. And, the best part, cheaper as well. I was quoted $14 over the phone this morning only to be charged $17 in-person at the clubhouse. I would have given it 2 or 3 stars for course quality but they also exhibited poor customer service.

Worst course I have played in a while. Played it around 2 months ago and they had just gotten significant rainfall so I will not solely base judgement due to the amount of rain the area had received. I walked into the pro shop to pay for my round and the guy behind the counter was having a conversation with another coworker and completely ignored me for a few moments. Once I told him my tee time they told me that they had booked me for the wrong day but if I hurry up I can go off the first tee box before a foursome. The course is not marked so you have no idea where you are going unless you have played there before. The fairways are atrocious. They are beat down and not maintained whatsoever. The tee boxes are a joke. The greens are the best thing this course has to offer and I would rate them a 4/10. Do not waste your money on this course until they learn how to maintain it.

It is unfortunate how bad this course has become. It is June and we have had allot of rain so the course should look good. It does not. I understand that it is a Muni. but I have played this course my whole life and it was so bad on Saturday I am not sure when I will return. My issues are below. 1. They need to get rid of the bunkers, they are NEVER maintained, and I know they do not have the money to support keeping them up. 2. The rough, it had not been cut in days, and Louisville had not had rain in over 5 days, NO EXCUSE. 3. They were cutting the rough while we were there, but instead of cutting just off the fairway, they were cutting under trees. And the y cut one HUGE rough area that was not any part of the golf course it was a space between holes. 4. There is nothing they can do about the fairways, they are Bermuda and that stuff sucks here.

My favorite course in the Metro system. Always a great place to find your game in the spring and to hone your shot making throughout the season. Typically requires me to hit every club in the bag at least once, which is always a sign of great course design. Good shots are rewarded and poor shots are penalized. Tip: Take one extra club for your measured yardage on 12.

This course is a little gem in a forgotten part of the city. Pretty flat wide open trees on the edges and if you keep it in play you can score pretty well. Went there on a Friday morning/ afternoon and it was pretty wide open didn't have to wait all day played 18 in 3 hours.

While once a top course to play, the river flooding and vandalism has this course in terrible shape. The fairways were covered with tree limbs and debris and several of the greens had tire tracks where someone had vandalized the green. The staff is always terrific. Hopefully with time the course will get back into good playing shape as the season goes on. Note to management: while the course is in this bad of shape, I would not be charging full price to golfers without first disclosing the shape of the course.

Course in really good shape considering it's only been open a month since the Ohio River flooded the entire course. Sand bunkers need work, but greens & tee areas were good. A little more time will probably yield continued improvement.....*****6/30/18**** update: played again & bunkers are in much better shape & playable now...not sure that is good for my game though vs. taking a free drop!
