Pros - Good course for beginners, course sells beer, never super busy, price can't be beat. Cons - Tee boxes and greens are TERRIBLE, fairways aren't much better. My brother and I have played approximately 60 rounds at Riverview since 2015. This continues to be our "go to course" in Bowling Green... despite it's flaws. There isn't a ton wrong with the course in terms of quantity... it's quality. First off, bring a rubber mallet for the tee boxes. I've broken more tees just trying to get them into the ground vs. hitting them with my club. This is absolutely ridiculous. Second, the greens have been playable once in the last three years (this was during a charity tournament). They are just terrible... Lastly, fairways.... What fairways??? This is true ESPECIALLY on Holes #3 and #4 (Which is a damn shame, because I LOVE the elevated tees on #4... just tee hit high and let it fly!). Bring PLENTY of extra balls when playing this course... I've seen scratch golfer through a dozen balls playing 18 here. But all is not lost folks! You absolutely CAN NOT beat the price. Now one may say "Well you get what you pay for." and that's fair... but considering the City of Bowling Green owns the only three public courses in town, this is a big bonus! Also, they sell beer for a VERY reasonable price in the pro shop (and they even have Bud Light Lime!!!). The staff here are always friendly, kind and accommodating. Plus, this course never really seems too busy. I recommend playing early on Sunday mornings before all the church's let out. But even in the evenings, this 9 hole course is spread out enough to where you're rarely ever waiting for someone to finish in front of you. I call this the "Blue Collar Course" in Bowling Green. Beginners to above average players can play here and 99% you have the opportunity to make new friends. The people that play here (in my humble experiences) like to just come out, swing the sticks and hang out with friends. I really don't like most people... but the folks I've met here have always been a lot of fun, are very courteous and chill. No "country clubbers" or PGA Tour Trainers here.... and I like that a lot. Bottom line... a nicely laid out 9 hole course with a GREAT price point and some super cool people (players and staff). Just remember to bring a jackhammer for the tee boxes and extra balls.

I golfed here on 5/5/15 and this course is in abysmal condition. The fairways and tee boxes are basically just dirt and some weeds. The course manager should be ashamed of the condition on #7 as it looks like it's under construction but I don't think it is. The greens aren't terrible and I would rate them at about a 6/10. While it did only cost $6 to walk 18 I wished they would charge more so that they could improve the condition of the course.

Love this place. I've been going for years. The fairways are wide open and the course is great for beginners. Sometimes the green are in rough shape but they always lessen the green fees if they are. Great course for what you are paying. The workers have always been nice to me.

Greens are currently in terrible shape. Only two greens were actually decent and could be putted on. The other greens were almost unplayable.

10/05/17 The Tee boxes were deemed unplayable for much needed restoration. The greens were decent shape, some rough spots. The layout is nice but no sand bunkers.

Friendly staff fun course. Price very good. Good selection of merchandise. Can be slow bwcause it's a municipal course, a lot of hackers and folks who do not know golf etiquette abound here and don know to let faster players play through. Dress is super casual.
