After having to clean out our cart, we were told that we were taking too long to play 9 holes after we had only played 7 holes and having to wait on other players. We’re told to get off the course when the course closes at 9 and we got kicked off at 8:20 while others were still on the course.

Solid, classic-style golf course with a lot of uphill (and a few blind) shots, greens large enough to accommodate most shots and decent playing conditions. Good variety of tee boxes to handle golfers of most any skill level. Unfortunately, the tee boxes are largely in need of some attention and maintenance of the course could generally be a bit better. But I generally enjoy playing there and will do so again in the future.

Have been playing here for 43 years.

Had my wedding here everyone enjoyed it

Terrible. Not worth your money or time. Most tee boxes are equivalent to normal golf courses rough. Multiple times teeing off my tee was lower than the grass. If that wasn't bad enough there were two holes under construction where you played onto the fairway. The starter did not think it was relevant to let us know these holes were unplayable. Good news they require polos because they are such a prestigious golf course

Jock Taylor

This golf course was complete trash. Rough had not been mowed in weeks. Tee boxes weren't cut. Greens were atrocious-every cup had jagged edges. Will never play here again. To make matters worse the staff was quite rood and didn't bother telling us two of the holes were closed on the course. "Country club" is more than a stretch describing this place.

Worst course played this year. Greens terrible, fareways grown up. Pathetic

Showed up and waited in the pro shop for 10 minutes and no one was in there. Course looked terrible. Dont understand why this place is rated highly. I guess you get what pay for here.

Headed out on a whim for a quick round as a single on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. After being shut out at a couple of courses closer to home due to overcrowding, I called Lone Oak and they were very accommodating. Got there and felt like I nearly had the course to myself. Course is in pretty rough shape, but not so bad that you can't get a fair lie within a scorecard. Greens were very thin but pretend its the US Open and embrace the challenge! At $25 for a weekend 18, don't expect it to be Augusta. I give it 5 star for value and I will play again in the future.

Samuel Rocha

Just such a plain course but really it's okay for some casual golfing. I only have a problem with the overall upkeep of the course.

Cheap, but that's about it. We called ahead of time since we were arriving late, but we were only playing nine holes and they supposedly close at 9pm so after calling first and being assured it would be fine, we thought it would be. We arrived at around 6:25. We had to check out and load up the cart which took another 10 minutes. After playing 7 holes on an unspiring course with tall fairways, rough greens, and massive craters in the cart path, around 8:20 we were informed that they were closing and it was time to leave. (Despite others still in front of us) They were also kind enough to inform us that it should not take two hours to play 9 holes (at this point it had been less than two hours and we only had two to go). They also told me we had to have checked in before 6pm, despite my phone call from Lexington taking place at 5:50. We apologized and remarked that we thought they closed at 9 and had more time, and they said they expect the cart back by 8:30 which was not communicated to us at any point. Then after abandoning the hole and parking our cart we were given grief about a small amount of trash being in it, despite it being full of empty beer cans when we got it. All in all, it was cheap, but I'd rather spend $6 more at Thoroughbred in the same city and not be made to feel like I'm not welcome, or not good enough to play at the course. Customer service is the big downfall here, your course is not even close to good enough to treat your guests this way. Will not be back.

Nice course layout with excellent greens. Pretty classic design with average length (6400 from tips). The only reason that I didnt give this course 4 stars is because they made me pay $8 just for my step-daughter to ride along, which is laughable. They were nice about informing me of this, but any course that charges just for passengers in cart who aren't playing clearly are scrapped for cash. Probably won't go back because of that, but overall decent course

Great course! The fairway, rough, and greens were all in great shape. It was packed but pace was kept They got me in on the weekend even though I didn't have a tee time on a discounted rate. Also, I even forgot my putter and the pro lent me one! I'm new to the area and this was a great introduction to Kentucky golf! Paid 12 for 18 holes with a cart, totally worth every penny and will be back soon!

The course is pretty well maintained. It's a fairly short track, with lots of mature trees and a few water hazards to provide some challenge. The greens are smallish, and hold a well struck approach shot. There is a nice, flat, Bermuda practice tee, and the putting green is as smooth as the other greens on the course. Overall, Lone Oak is a great value.

Guy at the clubhouse was nice. The course was in poor condition. Seem like it could be going out of business. $12 for 9 holes, might as well go somewhere else.

Love it

A really disappointing experience. We were informed shortly after paying full price for our rounds l, that two holes were closed/unplayable. The tee boxes were unkept and longer than a standard first cut of rough. This is our 7th annual golf trip with 12 people and it was hands down the worst course experience we've have. Don't worry, oddly entitled "members" will go out of their way to remind you of the polo shirt rrequirement.
