Great track. Could use some grooming. Over priced for the conditions. This would be my course if it was just a little bit better. Its not that far off. You have to strike your ball on this course. No wonder it use to be a Country Club. To hard!!!!

Corse was ok...a lot of goose poop to contend with. Staff not so good. The first kid didn’t seem to know anything about getting someone started...let alone someone from out of state who had never played this corse before. Then when I came up on a group of five that did not want to let me as a single player play through they refused to refund my back 9. They said I could have a rain check. When I told them I was from out of state and would not be able to use a rain check it was like oh well that all we can do we don’t do refunds for and circumstances. I think I will try a different corse next time I’m in town.

McDonald is a fun course, although not necessarily the best or most difficult in Wichita. The Fairways are generally not particularly long, although there is a good mix of trees, water, and sand traps to keep things interesting. While not an incredibly challenging course, there are several surprisingly difficult par 3s, namely the 9th and 12th and 17th holes, all of which include shots from elevation over water. These holes, as well as the general layout of the course, lends itself to being a course that rewards good shot placement and club selection more than pure power and distance.

Course was in terrible shape. It's July 2nd and it looks like they just quit trying to keep it playable. You are better off missing the fairway because at least then you know you'll have grass to play off and not dirt, Weeds or unmowed grass. They didn't tell you about the poor conditions or offer a discount. Would definitely play somewhere else.

Macdonald is definately the best public course in the area. One of the best courses overall. Big trees, lots of water, lots of contour, it's a beautiful place. It's in great shape now too! This grand old course is a Wichita icon for sure.

Not a fan. Geese poop everywhere makes this one disgusting experience. Add in shabby fairway conditions and I rate it as the worse public course in Wichita, hands down. Unfortunately my league uses this course, otherwise I wouldn't go there ever again.

The course was full of trash and debris, the cart man was pleasant but the old man pro was extremely unprofessional, stating exactly, "You f**ked up," granted my father and I shared the same driver for the duration of our play, which is apparently a violation of PGA rules he stated that we would need to rent a set of clubs to finish holes 16,17,18. While this may be frowned upon and a violation of PGA rules, I will never in my life play in the PGA but usually enjoy playing sometimes 5 times per season for the last 15 years or so, all the while my father and I have shared the same driver. I respect the game of golf and the rules but found this out today in the most unprofessional manner ever. The course condition was terrible and the staff was absolutely dreadful, stay away.

I play the city courses on the senior pass, and have found the staff at all courses friendly and this is especially true for MacDonald I played there last week and Tom was friendly as were all.the staff. My hats to all for having to deal with us would be pro's.

I golf a lot of public courses and you never know what to expect. I found the course to have a fantastic layout. Long enough from the white tees to present a challenge in distance. Reading some of the reviews I could tell it once was a private course. The greens were in good shape but the fairways definitely could use some attention. I can't grow grass in my own yard so don't ask me for advice

This place is a dump. The greens are horrible and the fairways are over run by crab grass. The tee boxes are also in terrible shape. The worst part is the price. How can a place like this charge the same rate as Sims, Tex, and Auburn. Don't waste your money and time.

Fairways are dead like hitting off of dirt. They are still using winter hole placements. Greens were bumpy and had debris all over them. Course is over run by geese. Worst condition of a public course ive seen in the 25 years ive been playing them. Cant believe i had to pay to play this piece of trash.

Fairways were dead, but understandable with the current drought. Don't get a cart... They are pitiful. The brake lock didn't work on mine which made parking on hills interesting. Told the course starter and he didn't care. To summarize: Overall decent course, but crummy service.

My favorite course in Wichita. A great layout with mature trees, well placed bunkers, decent length, plenty of water and nice contouring. That being said, the conditioning has not been good the last few years. The fairways are very spotty, the bunkers lack adequate drainage and now even the rough is starting to get patchy. I hope they are planning to put some well deserved money into this grand old course. The city would be crazy not to take care of a classic layout like Mac Park. This course in good shape is substantially better than any other course in the city. Add: As of 7/18, the Bermuda fairways have improved substantially and the rough is filling in. It appears they may be building a driving range on the west side. Nice things to finally see.

Kids took spring break camp & got golf clubs & case for attending-Wow! Took away one star cuz they should confer with a teacher & figure out how to make it more fun. It was a little lackluster for the kiddos. Need more games, contests, clever tricks to make it more fun.
