Luncheon after Memorial service. This was planned, they knew we were coming & had tables ready for us. That's about the only positive. Honor guard from Omaha got their food fairly quickly as they had to get going. The rest of us, about a dozen had long wait. They would bring out a couple meals at a time. My cousin had to ask for his glass of milk 4 times. Finally got it when he was done eating. They missed getting orders from a couple people until we said hey!!! Then after everybody FINALLY got food they brought out more, for nobody! What an experience!!!

Played after a three inch overnight rain and while very soft, course remained highly playable. Course was in very nice condition with very nice greens. Very friendly staff both in pro shop and restaurant. Pretty course to play, mostly flat and our foresome felt the track played much longer than marked. Will try and play it in the future. Stay in the short grass and you can score well. Not so much playing out of the rough.

Toward the end of 2018 the Club got a new Food & Beverage Manager and the whole bar area got a facelift. This is our go-to for almost all of our dining out experiences now. The food is amazing. The staff is efficient and personable and gets to know the members by name. It’s a really fun and relaxed environment, yet balanced with a nice fine dining ambiance. It’s amazing how we can equally enjoy a date night for two or a family meal with the kiddos. I only golf during couples league night on Fridays. It’s fun for a casual golfer like myself. The social events have really raised the bar this year... we did had Halloween trick or treating with dinner, Photos and breakfast with Santa in December and also a wreath making class with the Hen House... and then an Easter egg hunt & brunch for Easter. Looking forward to Mother’s Day brunch as well! Hopefully we will continue to do more fun social activities... I’m thinking a Wine & Paint Nite event! Men’s locker room was just remodeled and I’m sure the Ladies is on the to-do list. Kitchen got a new chicken broaster and a pizza oven and there’s almost always a salad bar for lunch and dinner so it’s competitive with almost all the places in town... I think some additional upgrades are on the to-do list as well. :-) For 2019- in honor of the 100 Year Anniversary you can obtain a social membership for just $100! I suggest you take advantage of that and check it out! Shout out to Deb & Adam and the entire board for making the club a welcoming and inviting place to be for golf members and social members alike! There’s probably more that I’m missing, but this is the highlights so go check it out! I think you can go out once to lunch or dinner for a test drive before you join? But call and double check. Worst case scenario give me a call and you can be our guest. :-) I

I was stunned to see the rating on this course. We have played every course in this area many times over the years, and this is the course we play every year, as the BEST in the area. It is amazing, every year. Price is very reasonable for the quality of the course. Price for an extra 9 is the best in the area, as well. If you are playing golf in the Okoboji area, this is a MUST. For this course to be rated low is an example of why these ratings have to be taken with a massive grain of salt. Frankly, those that have ranked this as a 1 simply are not giving it a valid rating.

Beautiful grounds. Large, quick, true-rolling greens. Multiple tees for every preference. Traditional...with trees, water, sand and greens sloping back to front. Grassy mounds accentuate the visual appeal. Generous landing areas, yet course management a premium. Well-equipped pro shop and comfortable clubhouse with hot and cold food and beverages. Staffed by courteous and friendly folks. Prices reasonable for a resort area. Country Club only 18 miles from Lake Okoboji. Very enjoyable and well-worth visiting... repeatedly!
