Johnathon Meyer said it best. After our foursome started; the starter/ranger started four twosomes in a row. After we let two twosomes play through; the course starter/ranger told us we were too slow. This is not the way the game is played. The course owner did not act upon Johnathan's complaint.

I was here for a party. It seemed like a nice venue for a small or medium party. Clean bathrooms. Lots of parking. Easy enough to find with the help of Google Maps.

Great course. Great rates. Watch out for the ranger. He can be biased towards group outings. He is overly concerned with you keeping pace even though no one is behind you. I've played golf all my life and respect golf etiquette very much, but this ranger kind of ruined the expierience for us and our outing (our group wasn't drinking, fyi). I have a feeling we aren't the first group to experience this. I have also never heard of a 90 degree rule for days that are very dry. Last time it rained was a week ago. Again, I loved the course and the staff in the clubhouse, but could do without the ranger. I don't believe I will be back, or at least for a while. I have never written a review for a golf course, but since I felt we were treated very unfairly, I feel it is necessary.

Let me preface this review by saying that the customer service at this course is incredible and the course itself is just as amazing. I would give 6 stars if I could. It's very challenging, a lot of variation and very well kept all around. I will most definitely be back for another round. I was in the situation of wanting to take my father-in-law golfing for Father's day and knew we were going to be in the cedar rapids area, so I looked up courses on Golfnow. Hunters Ridge came up, looked like a great course, so I booked a tee time. Unfortunately I mistakenly booked it for the wrong date and tried to cancel and book fornthe correct date but golfnow would not give me a refund so instead I called the course. I spoke with Rob who said it was ok that I switch the tee time to the correct date. I then received a call from Nate the course pro who told me that they do not receive any money for booking through golfnow and that he would call them himself and try to get me a refund as well as give me a discount on my tee time. As expected I would not receive any refund but instead he would still give the discount and was able to get golfnow to send me some promo codes for discounted golf in the future. As nice as the course is, Nate is the sole reason I will be returning to Hunters Ridge.

I have hosted a couples golf tournament the last two years at Hunter's Ridge and the course, staff, service, and facilities are top notch. Nate and the entire team have been extremely helpful getting everything set up for our group. This is the best value and finest public course in the Cedar Rapids/Marion metro area.
