This course has really took a turn for the worst. You distinguish the Tee off from the grass, fairway, green.....it all look the same, nothing but weeds. The water hazard are dried up just about and there were kids just walking around harassing golfers. I was extremely disappointed!!!!

It's a fun and challenging course but the quality of the course is not great. Greens and tee boxes are disappointing. Many bald spots on most greens. Sand traps and water hazards were dry. Glad I played here once, but I won't make it a priority to come back again this season.

The course has become fairly run down. The greens have many dirt patches and the bunkers are simply concreted sand full of weeds. The course still offers the challenges provided by the topography and landscape. However, many frustrating putts/approaches were created due to some inconsistent greens and bunkers. Shoot for an evening round during the week for $20-25.

Worst condition golf course I've played this year. Don't waste your money. Absolutely terrible. Tee boxes not mowed. greens have several bare sanding areas. Can't even move ball around to find smooth surface. Sucks

Best public golf course in Indianapolis period. Amazing layout used to be Highland Country Club once played by Sam Sneed, Jim Dent Lee Elder..... Golf tees for all levels back tees will test any pro especially 10 and 18. There's ob OB more jokes on this course than any private or public course in Indianapolis true test of golf. Play it up depending on your skill level and enjoy your day.

Overall, pretty poor conditions at Coffin. The sand traps are all dirt and rocks, the fairways aren't mowed on each hole, and there were no water jugs on any hole on a 85 degree day. What a shame to let such a iconic course go to waste. The only way to save it would be to get new management as soon as possible and put some real money into fixing up a former gem of a course.

Nearly no difference between tee boxes and the fairway. Which are both almost completely covered in crab grass. Was ready to leave after the first hole. The rough was better to hit from than the fairways. Cannot believe they were charging to play. Couldn't get off the tee due to the long weeds grabbing the club as well. Just awful. And bunkers cannot be called sand traps, just clay, dirt, and gravel. I hope the money saved closing the courses is invested here, or we will be without any more public courses along the river. I will not play it again without drastic improvements, and I highly doubt others will as well

Decent course. Nice views of the river. Greens are big and nice. Fairways showing it's fall and are dry. Had a GroupGolfer discount. Do like city courses. Surprising how many big cities don't have golf courses in the city limits.

Played Coffin in a golf outing. The course was in fair shape and had several challenging holes. The tee boxes could use a more TLC. Overall, an alright course nestled in Indy.

Classic 3 star golf course. Tee boxes aren't consistently trimmed to typical tee box length. Some greens are a little patchy and weird with ball marks and just plain neglect. Cart paths fool you into thinking you're driving through a war zone at times. However, overall, fairways are pretty well demarcated from the rough and the staff are friendly and no glaring problems. Better than Riverside, that's for sure.

Overall it was a great experience. Driving paths could definitely be improved with more signs and better surface. There were a few tiny things here and there like trash or damaged grass near flags, but it doesn't make this course a two star place.

Played this course for the first time (july 9, 2017) because a couple buddy's suggested it was a nice course but nothing good to say except the staff was very nice. Besides that the course looked in terrible shape. Just about all 18 holes were covered with water from which im guessing the river flooded most of it. The sand traps had actual rocks bigger than a club head in them. The greens were in pretty bad shape and many spots that were literally just dirt and no grass. I would not suggest this course at this current time. After all the flooding has subsided and maintence has been done then may try this course again (and do an updated review) since most issues is most likely due to the flooding from the river.

This is the worst Golf Course I have ever been to ! Anderson used to have a par 3 course 30 years ago , but it went to hell in a hand basket when they was ready to close it . THAT COURSE WAS BETTER THAN THIS GOAT RANCH !!!! They should pay the golfers to play this piece of crap insteqd of charging 30.00 bucks to play it . DO NOT GO TO THIS COURSE !!!! NEVER ! NEVER ! NEVER !! NEVER

Played this course for the 3rd time in 3 years, and it is in the best condition I've seen to date. Mature golf course wrapped along one side of the White River, the primary challenges come from out of bound or hazards lurking on one or both sides of most holes. The greens were slightly slow due to recent rains, and they are still battling some winter rot on a couple greens. The staff is friendly and attentive, the carts are in good shape. Pace of play was good. Overall good experience, although a touch over-priced for weekend rates.

Great layout of a golf course and friendly staff. Course is not in the greatest of shapes by anymeans but I think the course layout makes up for it and more. Have fun with the teeshot on 10 & 18!

Fun course with several very tricky, narrow holes. Awesome views of the White river as well. Fairways were a little long and there were quite a few dead spots on the greens. A little expensive for the condition it is in. Regardless, a nice challenge for both amateurs and professionals.

Was once a phenomenal course. Unfortunately, it seems no one maintains anything anymore. Bunkers are simply "weed traps." Felt like I was being punished for putting t shots in the fairway on account of terrible condition. $27 at 4 in the evening? No thanks.

Abysmal is the only word to describe my experience here. In the past it's been a great challenging course. For the first time, I regretted paying $35 to play here. In no circumstances should there be sand between me and the hole when I'm on the green lining up a 7 ft putt. The tee boxes resembled the ocean floor with the amount of crab grass present. The fairways were the rough, and the rough made me reminisce of my time in the Louisiana swampland. I'm not sure how it's gotten this bad, but it was one of the worst golfing experiences I've ever had. I hope they recoup to their original standards.
