REVIEWS OF Kukuiolono Park & Golf Course IN Hawaii

Edward Marx

Great rates ($10 all day). Fantastic view on every hole. Nice little Mexican restaurant.

Diane Williams

Beautiful golf course, at this time! I have never seen the grass so green! It has nine holes but I believe you can play twice for the same price. Awesome views!

Adam Walpole

This place is awesome. It’s hands down the best value. It’s also a perfect example of what I would imagine island golf to be. It’s $30 bucks for playing 9 with a rental and a cart! We paid another $20 to play the 9 again. Played in sandals and it was great!

Leslie Hibner

Beautiful course and even better price!

chris h

cant say enough about old hawaii here

Steven Hacker

This is true golf. First time I was confused. I was paired with two Kauai natives, late 20s, both playing in flip flops. The carts are tired but it's a course to walk anyway. The staff is great. The course is wonderful and the view magnificent. An added benefit: Pacos Tacos --- better than Texas!

matt ballard

Best views and best Mexican food at Pacos's Taco's.

James Hertwig

Staff was so friendly!! Had a great time and will hopefully come back one day. Rental clubs were Nike's and the grooves were in great shape-wish they had a 56 or 60 degree though. FYI: Bring your own golf glove, golf towel, balls and tees-none of that is provided. GREAT TIME!!

Michelle Funai

jeff Olsavsky

Great view of the Kauai coastline

John Alexander Ashby

Pleasant little golf course with both ease and challenge as options. The grounds and scenery are well kept, and great for taking pictures too. Enjoyed it!

Kiele Casillas

Isaac Sills

I don't play golf, but there is immature golf and Pacos Tacos.

Graham C

Great value and $10 ($3 for under 15yrs) for unlimited golf all day. Amazing views and a challenging hard pan links course. Don’t bother with the power cart ($10 /9 holes) and being your own clubs if you can ($10 /9 holes). The course suffers a bit from lack of maintenance, but the price is right for casual family vacation golf.

NAte Welker

For the price you can't beat it. Not world class but fun.

J NG

Stephen Nichols

I love the staff and the people who play here. Yeah, I know it is not a top notch course but the experience is unparalleled.

Serafin Torres

What a great place to have fish tacos.. and fried icecream.

Casandra Clark

Lance Morgan

Nick Coy

Best bang for your buck if you're a golfer, the course isn't in the greatest shape but well worth the money.

Susan Lillard

Gorgeous views but a few challenges that make for an interesting game.

John Neil

Low cost and great views. This is a hard deal to beat. Be prepared for super fast fairways and greens. Your shots will roll a long way. Don't bother coming either Thursday morning (the old ladies have a tournament then) or Sunday morning (the old guys have a tournament then).

Rosa Minjares

9 hole golf park with a nice restaurant pretty land too

Tyler Stark

$9 to play all day, $9 for club rental (pay for each round, very old clubs), $9 for cart rental (pay for each round, can ride 2 for the $9 rate). We arrived at 7:30am and played our first round pretty quickly (90 minutes). The course became more crowded and our second round was slower (2 hours). The course is under maintained and if you are an avid player you may want to spend a bit more and play somewhere that is better maintained. Very friendly staff, and nice views.

Dawn Shoen Wilwert

Great fun with beautiful views! Nice course for couples.

Anthony Glaittli

Such a wonderful park and golf course!. Great for sight seeing, discount golfing, jogging, short walks for kids, Nice Mexican restaurant, pavilion available for special events. Gates close early so be aware

Chelsea G

Tim Catellier

Beautiful course, unbelievably inexpensive.

Mike Ahern

My brother in law brought me here to play a quick game while I was visiting. We had such a good time, we came back again the next day! Friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere, great views, good food, new carts... Just all around a wonderful experience. Truly a gem of the island.

A.J. Prince

Chickens everywhere!

Gary Whitcutt

We are beginners, but my wife and I thought we’d have some fun doing a round of golf during our vacation. So, we drive out to the course, park the car, walk to the club house, and pay $56 to play. Then, we’re told that we may have to become part of a foursome if we were unable to keep up with other people. WHAT?! There’s nobody else anywhere in sight. The lady at the desk spoke to us like a German SS commandant from WWII. We were so pushed out of shape, we demanded a refund and got it. Bummer.

Fx Gaston

Rustic golf course but for the price, awesome.... They have a $9/9/9 price structure. $9 for rentals of clubs, $9 for course, $9 for golf cart. Not the most lush of fairways, but the greens are more than adequate. Oh yeah... the views... awesome. Also flying chickens that go up about 30 feet into the trees. Clubhouse is quaint but a real authentic Hawaiin feel. Good food and drinks. Everyone is super friendly. If you really had to complain, then you really are not on vacation.... To Kukuiolono, thank you.

Donna Phelps

My huaband and i play this courde at least once every visit to kauai. We love it!

Todd Hammond

What a deal! Shhhhh... It's our little secret!

Dave Nance

For the price it's amazing. Don't come here for any other reason than to save a ton of money. I was pleased with the quality of everything for what I payed. No one believes what it costs until i show them the website. It's as nice as the ones that are twice as expensive.

Kim Hoang

Tyler Navarro

Great, cheap golf course as an alternative to the more expensive resort-type courses on the island. Fairways are just park-type grass, but they're well mowed and you can get great ball roll distance. Greens are much improved in the last five years, on par with some of the best courses on the island. Really great view from the driving range facing the West along the South side of the island. Makes for great sessions at sunset, especially in winter when the sun sets earlier. Also makes for a great family walk after the course closes at 6. Park outside the gate and walk on in. Gorgeous lookouts of the ocean.

Michael Anderson

Can't get better for the price in Hawaii. Really enjoyable.

Amy Kacsh

The people and the views are amazing! Great price for nine holes of golf, and did I mention the views are amazing?

Denny0007 McD

Can't beat what you get for the price. Great views all around the course & challenging golf too.

Twin City Discovery

Contrary to what some have said this place was awesome. The man at the window was very nice and friendly. The golf is cheap! $10 for 9 holes. $9 for club rentals. $9 for carts. $5 if you have a spouse or someone riding along. The clubs are beat up but very playable. Sand wedge not included. I did get a bad driver on my 3rd round there. The shaft was bent at the hosel. Found this out after hitting 2 drives about 50yrds forward and 100yrds right. the grounds are very hard so you get a lot of roll on your drives. The rough is short so the ball rolls alot there too. The 300yrd holes are very drivable. Greens are very hard and some are very small. You may find it hard to keep the ball on the green if putting or chipping because of this. Overall excellent place and great views. It is slow most of the time. Only complaint was the lady sitting by the rental clubs was giving me flak cuz I didnt want to use the set she pointed out but wanted a different set w slightly less damage. I jus gave her flak back bout y it was such a big deal to her. Lol

Beth Turek

Such a great cheeseburger to go with brokering relationships. Free umbrellas

Javier Rey

This course is super cheap and had great views. Perfect fit us since we're novice golfers.

Jenni Scotti

The views are amazing, a great park for walking. Never golfed, but the site is one of the most beautiful for a budget price, though it is a 9 hole.

Craig Paden

Brenda Dumas

Great no frills golf. Wonderful views...

Barb Brown

Mariano Torres

Leianne Anderson

Such a fun time

Josh Ellamar

Pacos Tacos Cantina on property!

norbert turek

So chill. Very inexpensive and we'll kept. $15 for my son to play 9 with clubs and three balls. Driving range looking at the ocean...

Lewdog Lewis

Great place to enjoy golf with the family. Views are great! Course is well maintained. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. $10 green fees!!

Lucas Casazza

The guy at the desk was very rude. The lady was very nice. I enjoyed the course but I have never met a more rude individual working at a golf course.

Bill Lane

I've been playing the "Kuk" for 14 yrs & love it. I would much rather play there 10 times for the cost of playing overpriced PoiPu Bay once. I've joined up with many very nice people, several of which I see every year. A great bang for the buck!

Chris Haines

Pretty great views of the South Shore from here. I don't golf, but it's a nice place to walk around and there's a decent taco restaurant at the pro shop.

Kosen Ishikawa

This golf course is unbelievable! Great views, great price ($10 for 9 holes), and great gardens which have amazing collections of Pohaku or sacred stones.

Linda Pieratt

Loved Paco's Tacos & Cantina! Great views off lanai, full menu, wonderful Mexican food!

Lisa Zumstein

A wonderful golf course. 9 holes with no sand or water hazards. The views are beautiful, mountains on one side, ocean on the other! Inexpensive, relaxing golf.

Andrei Wilcox

Horticulture Warrior

Great prices! Cheap golf. Was in Kauai for vacation and wanted to golf. Found this place and its awesome. Tucked away thru a winding road at the top of a peak. Ground is hard and greens are fast. Most of the par 4s are reachable since the ground is hard. You can get an extra 30 to 40 yards on your drives due to elevation and the ground being so hard. Clubs are beat up but i did not mind any of that. Theres even a mexican restaurant there so you can grab a bite after the round. Its about $19 for 9 holes with cart. Theres a driving range and practice green too.

Heather Gibson

Jordan Davis

This is literally the worst course I've ever been to and the guy at the counter was very rude. My partner curiously and politely asked if they had any stiff clubs and he rudely replied "you get what you get for $10" and then looked at another customer (who he didn't realize was with our group) saying "people come here and expect a professional set of Callaway clubs for $10". I realize it's $10 for 9 holes, plus $10 for a cart, plus $10 for clubs but the condition of the course was worse than any I've ever seen in my life. The rental clubs were in good shape but the course is far from cared for. The greens were patchy and very inconsistent. You can tell the course used to be beautiful and there is great scenery, but after obvious years of neglect, it's turned into a trash course. For $30 I would rather have gone to a really course and paid $70 for 18 holes. We will never come here again.

Jeffrey Naumann

Local and public golf course, my fiance and I stopped here, rented clubs, a cart, bought tees and balls, all for $56. Views were great, nice little bar and grill too.

Tomm Munro

This has to be the best kept secret in all of Kauai. You can't find quality golfing anywhere - not just Kauai - for cheaper pricing. And with a beautiful view and entertaining course. Now they have a fun little putt-putt golf course added. Staff is super friendly. This park and course is a "have I died and gone to heaven??" experience.

Chantel Pa

Peaceful place to go and relax and take beautiful photos!

Leslie von Brimer

Beautiful hilltop paradise. Great for a walk with your dog, a jog or a barefoot round of golf.

Kainoa Simao

Dave Tanchak

Nice golf course, very scenic and fun to play.

Lisa Goodwin

This is a fantastic view of the west side.

Julia Santy

L Snyder

I go here for the gorgeous walking trail, it's quiet, surrounded by trees, I almost always see birds, butterflies, and a variety of flowers. It's free and usually not too crowded. The trail loops around, it's about 3/4 of a mile.

Tim Mason

Can’t beat it for the price. No shirt no shoes, who doesn’t want to golf like that?!?

Chicago Rex

You can’t beat the price for the views of this public course. Well maintained for the greens fees. They have bags and clubs to rent for out of towners, walking or riding along also an option

JD Liddil

Amazing views. Great landscape photography location

Ed Reeder

Memorable and Unique experience. Read the history of this place to get a better understanding of it. You'll play with barefooted and shirtless locals out for relaxation. The driving range has a view that other courses would kill for. All this is available for a song. Trust me, you'll be talking about this course more than any others on the island.

Prescott Hope

Fun little golf course.

white faced black sheep

You're playing golf in Kauai, what could be wrong with that.

Neil Brosnahan

A beautiful park and nine hole golf course with some of the most spectacular views on Kauai. The park includes hiking trails and cultural gardens for your enjoyment. The clubhouse includes one of the best Mexican restaurants on the island open 7 to 5:30 daily.

Nita Ford

Shawn McGurrin

Diane Zink

Chad Felderhoff

Excellent course for the money. Good views. If you want a pristine course and great rental clubs you need to go somewhere and pay the piper. If you want a decent course that you can play for cheap then this is the ticket. $9 for clubs for cant expect much. $9 for green fees is not pristine greens.

Kirk Thompson

Great place to play 9 holes of golf, affordable, excellent views of the ocean on a majority of the holes

Jacob Gould

Cash only. Super price, great course for the money. Each player must have own clubs (no sharing) but they have rental clubs, keep in mind they are pretty beat up. Starter was friendly and staff was helpful. Course conditions were good, tho dry and hard. Plenty of roll, lay up or risk shooting past target every time.

Don Kolenda

9 holes of golf for $10 .... what a value. Didn’t bring your own clubs... not a problem. Rent clubs for $10... plan to play early.

Sara Sorensen

Eddie O

Anyone who rates this course with one star based on the conditions, is a moron. It’s $10!!! Also, the people who work there ARE polite, but I’m sure every now and then, some douchebag complains about the condition of the course, and then they become a little facetious, which then, makes them appear to be rude. Here’s the real deal. Read the 5 star ratings because they’re real. Ok course, great people, great price. I go here to practice up, before playing the more expensive courses around the island. Enjoy!

Allison Tomcik

Sharri Achuara

Very relaxing!

Cathy M

Great view and the cafe has good food and excellent drinks

T B

Great 9 holes, can't be beat for the price. Nice views, decent clubs and carts.

Larry Richeson

Great views and price, but keep your expectations of course condition within reason.

We travel to Kauai every 2 years and have always enjoyed the course until this visit. This visit we encountered a very hostile and aggressive employee whose name I believe is Noby? The course is always slow and we expect this. I had rental clubs from the club house that I had agreed to return by 6pm. After the second hole I had to wait after every shot for the group in front of us. At 5:30 on tee #6 I decided to walk to hole eight to see if it was clear to play a final 2 holes and have the clubs back by 6. On hole 2 I joined another player who was playing and waiting. I expressed to my new partner I was going to go to #8 and he warned me of Noby. As we were walking to #8, not across a fairway but through the park we were almost attacked by a man(Noby) in a red cart yelling at us and questioning what we were doing. We tried to explain but were yelled at that there was no skipping holes, the course is full, you have to go back to hole 6 and wait your turn. This was crazy. We weren't cutting, the 2 groups, and only 2 groups were still on 6 and 7. A yelling match developed with the employee before we just kept walking. My Fiance who was just walking stopped to take a picture in the shrine/garden area and Noby drove up and yelled at her that she had to move along. This was at 5:40 PM with dog walkers all around the park and course. As I made it to the #8 tee box I was so angry I decided to call it quits. As I was putting my gear up, here comes Noby again to yell at me telling me to hurry up. All the time hes calling me "bra" and your not showing "Aloha bra". I can see the #7 green from where I am and there is no one behind me. Ive never been on a course that had such a terrible employee. When I reached the club house an employee asked how it was. I explained I only played 5 holes before being chased off, that's how I felt. He shook his head looked at another employee and said, "Ah Noby", this gave the impression that he is a known trouble. If Noby is the ranger or what ever, it's also his job to try and keep the flow of play moving and help all the guests have a enjoyable time on the course. I have loved playing the course the 10-12 times prior, but I will never return. I'll be playing Puakea where its only 35$ anytime for 9 holes and not wasting my time driving to poor service.

Tiffany Elmore

Richard Salinas

Great price, fun layout, awesome views, Avg conditions.

Jason Suchecki

For the price can't beat it anywhere! Under 18 $3!!

Brad Tombers

It's a simple course that's accessible to both the beginner and his/her wallet. It's good for a low key round on beautiful Kauai.

Chad Johnson

Great views, very laid back atmosphere, and amazing price at $9. Greens and fairways weren't in best of shape but for price and view you can't miss this small 9 hole course.

Tom Keller

mathew kuzmik

Don't be fooled by it being a gold course, it's an amazing little hidden gem. There's a great overlook at the pavilion. There's a Japanese rock garden, which is nice, but the real star is the overlook. It's quiet and usually only locals visit it, so it's a nice breath away from the tourist destinations. It rained for a couple of minutes while we were there and you could see a complete rainbow at the overlook. It's a little tricky to get to, but it's definitely recommended for a nice, quiet stroll.

Irineo Sepulveda

Nice nine hole course moderately priced.

Foodie

Amazing value for the course you play on! Very cheap

Chad K Pacheco

Rudy Whitehead

Great views and cheap to play. Not a difficult course, but fun to play.

Marsha Hoffman

Great taco restaurant and great golfing. Love the sceanic view

Darwin Schminke

Kukuiolono Park is an interesting park to visit plus views of the ocean. Has historic value to the people of Kauai as stated on a few markers. Be sure to visit the "Rock Garden" again, with informative markers. Unique layout of stone and variety of plants make a good setting for pictures. Carefully walk across the golf course to not disturb the golfers, and hike to the pavilion walking along the cart path for great ocean views/pictures.

David Mooney

The cheapest course on the island, you can play the whole course with rented clubs and balls for under $40. Besides that, it had incredible views from pretty much every hole. Fruit trees are everywhere and if you're lucky you can find a mango, lime, or papaya calling your name. There are also some cool features like a hidden rock garden, overgrown fountains, and the like. A hidden treasure of the Garden Isle.

Patrick Weiss

Can't beat the value. Super affordable, friendlt staff and great views. Mostly crab grass but we'll maintained and a fun 9.

Justin Billings

Can’t believe I just played $20 to play this course. Some incredible views and a really well maintained course. Such a steal at that price!

Kenneth Burton

We were at the Pavilion for a wedding and it was a beautiful setting.

Trevor Brown

Awsome view

Love this place!

Jason Lisbo

Brian Kreitzer

Pretty cool muni type course, super value given the location and views. If you want a $200 course, go play a $200 course....

Tony Principato

The best kept secret in Kauai! $10 green fees for this golf course. Great views friendly staff. An all around must for any golfer

Sharyn Allen

Linda Thomaier

We have played this course many times and enjoyed the experience. Today was an exception. We were treated rudely from the moment we arrived. There were 7 in our party and we were going out as a foursome and a threesome. We were told that we would be kicked off the course if we joined up. One of our group is a PGA teaching pro and he showed his card and nicely said that we understood the rules and would follow them. We were than harassed on the course even though we were keeping a good pace and no one was waiting on us.

Jamey Kaua'i

golfed all over the world and you cant beat this for the money. Great views, cheap golf. What's not to like?

Ken Rader

Loved it and boy it's cheap

Beautiful course. Affordable rates. Highly recommend.

John W. Moore, Sr.

I have been playing golf for about 6 months now. I really like this course. The views are spectacular and the course is well maintained. It's not a professional golf course, but for me, it's perfect!

This is the best kept secret for golf! Ha ha A GREAT value and the views from there are incredible. I go there for lunch because the Mexican food is GREAT and authentic!

Beautiful small 9 hole course with a park and trails.

Susan Whittington

This a beautiful park, walking area as well as public 9 hole golf course. Lovely Japanese gardens, and event center for weddings too.

The views of the South Shore from the practice range are beautiful. But be careful....You get what you pay for. While this course is very affordable, our experience was not at all positive. We are frequent golphers and know the general rules of a golf course. We attempted to golf here on a Tuesday. The course is older but fine. The clubs and bags are ancient and in poor shape. We called ahead for a tee time and were told they don't accept them, but it wasn't busy and a good time to come. There were 3 of us. On hole one there came a loud speaker announcement that no one tee off any hole until the folks ahead of you are on the green. Ok, the hole was not a par 3, but apparently their rules. There was a group of 4 ahead of us. By the time we started hole 2, an employee came out to tell us we needed to golf faster. Not sure how we were supposed to do that when we were on the heels of the folks ahead of us, but ok. Not more than 2 minutes later the same lady came out and told us we had to pick up our balls and go " immediately" to the next green. When we pointed out that the folks ahead of us were on the green, she actually started yelling at us and said she had 14 people waiting to play golf and they needed to speed things up. Well, that was about it for us. We went there to play golf, not to be herded through like a bunch of cattle just because they do not take tee times and make people wait to tee off. Quite irritated by now, we picked up our balls and headed back to the office and not surprised to be met by the group ahead of us who were also leaving the course because the employees who were cutting the grass had yelled at them 2 or 3 times to get moving because they were golfing to slow. We pretty much demanded our money back and were told they don't give refunds by the same lady who yelled at us on hole 2. We asked to speak with the manager, told there wasn't one, but a different employee agreed to refund our money. The moral of the story...You get what you pay for. We headed over to Kiahuna Golf Club, paid a bit more, dealt with wonderful employees and had a terrific golf experience. We golfed at Kiahuna 3 times while we were on Kauai.

Lyn Wandell

Love this place, so beautiful!

Carter Horsak

Beautiful views with some decent holes! Staff was friendly and rental equipment was fine!

Scott G

This is a beautiful park with a view but the golf staff is terribly disrespectful and lazy. Just walk around and enjoy the view.

Anthony Grabosh

Best views on the south shore of Poipu and Pirt Allen

First Last

If you love reasonably priced golf, you won't be disappointed. It's located atop the hill in Kalaheo. It's easily accessed, plenty of parking, awesome views, and best of all, cost less! Great for golf newbies. Everything you need is available for rent, again very reasonably priced. Five stars and shakas, no doubt.

amelia garcia

Eric Boston

This is beautiful, and the gardens are very quaint.

Robert Mccaig

Just wanted to play some golf in Hawaii and thays exactly what we got to do. Its a sinole course and was fun to play.

Josh Wittmer

Tony Romo one of the managers was rude, unpleasant, and impolite. He treated us like beginners, even though we have been playing golf for years. This made made our experience unenjoyable. We came to play one round of golf while here and it was not a quality experience. I would not recommend playing this course as it lacked quality care and the equipment we rented was very poor.

Justin Elton

If your into golf, you have to play on this Historic course. 9 holes, its by no means a country club style golf course but the whole setting is amazing. The clubhouse is super vintage, the people running it are hilarious. $9 a round, $9 for club, $9 for Club rentals. The views are incredible, there are chickens running around everywhere. If you go to Kauai and you play golf, you have to make the trip here. You will not not regret it.

Jason Brumback

ERY quiet and a nice course. Cheapest course I have ever played. It is well worth the price. The best part is there are not that many people so you can take your time on the course

Ed Sills

This is a local store with lots of fishing supplies and hot or cold snacks and prepared food. It's very popular with local fishermen and people who want a bite to eat. It has liqour, sushi and sandwiches and hard boiled eggs. It's a great place to stop for a snack.

Nellie Sellon

Beautiful views, amazing golf, great price. And yes, we met the famous rude course employee Nobi described by other reviewers. Nobi didn't disappoint - he yelled, screamed and threw our golf balls around cursing profusely - he wanted us to play faster, never mind a nice family ahead of us, who were still on the green. Glad we read about him, so we ignored his tantrums. If you meet Nobi on the course, don't let his rudeness ruin your game. Aloha and enjoy this beautiful place.

Vernon Parongao

Perfect bump and run course...doubles as a perfect walk your doggy park after the golfers has gone. Take care of your doggy doodoo though!

Karen Dyer

Beautiful golf course with stunning views. The gardens are nicely maintained and the Hawaiian rock display was surprisingly interesting. We had excellent Mexican taco burrito fare at the clubhouse...nice views and very clean. Friendly service too.

Emmalani Garcia

Beautiful place

Mapuana K Duhaylongsod

The only reason this golf course doesn't get 5 stars is because the fairways are so hard. You can literally watch your ball bounce in the air when it lands. You can see off with a 7-iron and drive 250 yd. Otherwise it's a great course great prices incredible fantastic views.
