You know that we do not usually bother to put feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Golf belongs to the category of Golf course.
Nice coarse
Good course. Not cheap. Had a late tee time so the heat was intense by the 15th hole.
We took our first golf lesson together here and Chris was a gem. He walked us through everything we needed to know, answered our crazy off the wall questions, and made us feel competent in just ~3 hours. I'm already planning my return trip to course and hoping I'll be so lucky next time.
Had the best time! Loved the course. Green reading is tricky but fun. Loved it!
Most beautiful and relaxing round of golf I have ever played!
Great place to wine and dine with family and friends, plus if you like golfing, this is the place to be....
Played 3 rounds, 3 days in a row on the royal course. Can you believe they dont re cut pins every day? When I brought it up in the shop, the lady kind of laughed at me and said no one has ever complained about that before. Who wants to play the same course with same exact pins two days in a row, let alone the fact the the holes were in terrible shape after 36 hours of being cut, looked like a miniature golf course around the edges. The overall condition was just ok, but not up to par for over 120 per round. Not close to what would be expected. Then theres the range...tiny. Balls are old and low compression because range is short. But they only give you like 15 to 20 to warm up and that's it and always on mats? Not at all what is expected for well over a hundred per round.
Was recommended to play Kai For views / cost . . Thx Jimmys Golf Shop. Breathtaking views from up the hill, Beautiful wide open course! Relaxed atmosphere. Perfect.
What a fun and challenging course! 10/10!
Awesome Course, Staff, GPS Carts, Awesome Beverage Cart, Bar n Restaurant. Beautiful Pro Shop
Husband and friends played.. They loved it except for people crossing the gateway, very dangerous
Except wifi connection problems, birds on our table each time we eat it's quite a pleasant place to be.
Beautiful and my husband had a lot of fun.
Beautiful views, meticulous grounds, a great Hawaiian golf experience!
Great playable course
Beautiful course and driving range.
Golfer's paradise! 36 holes of great golf!
Awesome times! Great views!
Very historic golf resort really... much golf history was made in the early 60's with historic golf events to kick off the Kaanapali resort.
WE LOVED IT THE GOLF COURSE WAS SPECIAL
Beautiful golf course
Ka’anapali Resort : The Ka’anapali Kai, rated 3-12/ stars, and Royal Ka'anapali courses are two well-rated and pleasantly testing resort-style layouts. Both courses offer scenic ocean and inland mountain views, although both are predominantly set back from the ocean behind the plentiful resort accommodations.
For a course charging as much as Ka'anapali does, you'd expect fresh groomed tee boxes, bunkers, and greens but that did not happen when I played the Kai course. It isn't the first time I've played it but the first time they didn't take care of the course. Tee boxes had not been cut, bunkers were not raked, and the greens were inconsistent in terms of speed and smoothness because they didn't cut it properly.
Awesome place
Golfing in Hawaii, nuff said!
(Guy who's played at a few courses, so call me picky if you want), but Ok at best. Staff was friendly, but $72 for two people, rental balls, and a cart for 9 holes only?!?!?! Cmon. I pay $26 in Houston for a very similar experience (except 18 holes but with no cart!!!). Hole markers were hard to find, views weren't anything worth paying that markup for, and scorecards did not reflect par for the holes (only golf holes). I would be happy to pay $72 if it were 18 holes and the holes were carefully placed with great Hawaii views. But $72 for 9 holes where they basically keep you off the fairway does not make sense. Took advantage of people visiting Hawaii hoping to start or expand on their footgolf experience.
So nice you can see people’s houses being built you can see the ocean they have water refill stations after every 3 holes
Beautiful!!
Awesome place to go hit since golf balls.
Very well kept and challenging but fair course. Expensive but definitely worth playing once if you're on Maui.
Great course played it twice this time and it gets more enjoyable every time
Great views of Maui. Well groomed.
Beautifully manicured cross between a resort and tournament course with some great views and plenty of interesting holes
Let's get the negative out of the way first. The gentleman who helped us at the check-in didn't seem too thrilled to see us. He also grilled us about where we were staying. My impression was that possibly he was trying to deny us playing there? We had already paid ahead with an online site, which I would recommend. We also paid way below the going rate. The rental clubs were $50 plus tax. They ended up being well used steel Nike clubs( No graphite) and not what I expected for the money. No free sleeve of inexpensive balls either. I joked with him about that but he wasn't pleased. Now on to the positive. The starter was great as were the food cart girls. They were very friendly and were trying to please. It was a very well manicured and fun course to play. The ladies' tees were very generous, which my wife liked. The greens could be reached in two if you had a decent drive and I'm not a very long hitter. I would highly recommend this course. One recommendation is to rent the clubs from Boss Frogs for $15. By the way, we played the Kai course.
Some great golf but the fees are a bit high.
Great day of golf with my son. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. We rented golf clubs from “Steve’s “ which were less expensive then renting from the club house. Steve delivers the clubs to your hotel, and you can leave them at the course when you’re finished. Very convenient .
A little pricey but everything is in Hawaii. Well kept and great ocean views.
Great staff and course
Great course and friendly staff.
Good place to golf
Great course with unbelievable views!!!
Great course with open fairways and great views of Ka'anapali, Hawaii
Foot golf was the best. Make sure to rent a golf cart!!
Super test of golf with an abundance of helpful and friendly staff. Rates very reasonable and club hire good value for money.
One of beautiful golf course I've ever played. I played the Royal course, which is the more costly of the two. But my twilight fee was affordable and cheap. Rental clubs were good enough (tylormade). You will see beautiful site in every course. The weather was awesome and I had a great round of golf. Surprisingly, all courses and greens are well maintained. All crews are very friendly from greeting to end, he gave me towel with cold water when i returned my cart. My first day in Maui was perfect. Thanks all.
Played the kai course a couple times. Greens are pristine, fairways are in good shape, tee boxes are nice and flat. Best of all are the ocean and mountain views that can be enjoyed throughout the entire round.
This is perfect place to eat very good lunch or dinner. The buffalo chicken wings was delicious, and clab sandwich was perfect, but the best of the best was mud pie. We ate there seven times and we will get back for sure.
Nice course, played on a special unlimited golf play all day $129. My husband and I enjoyed the course, the views and it was fairly easy to play and close to all the restaurants, shopping. So if you want to play and wife wants to shop you can do both!!! The staff was so kind and helpful.
Ka'anapali Kai Course - This is a really enjoyable course - very forgiving with stunning ocean views. The course aerates its greens in September like many Hawaiian properties, though they were well top dressed and could be played though. we were offered to play the Royal course (90 minutes later) or have a 30% reduction in green fees which we took them up on. The course was also empty so we played in just over 3 hours which was wonderful. Definitely worth playing at other times of the year (I also would have rated this excellent if the greens were better).
This was a wonderful golf course in Hawaii, well maintained and the cart paths were also clearly marked. The course itself was very beautiful, some holes right next to the ocean others in between a pine forest. Not extremely challenging either which was great for me as a beginner. Could have always used the drink cart earlier
Overpriced, is it me or does everything and everyone in Maui want to fully take advantage of the tourist? The course played fair, but the greens were simple and slope was not a challenge. The ruff was fluffy so, use your lob wedge around the green, no chipping. Lol. Even the $99 rental clubs were overpriced. You can find better, unless your a stuck tourist at the resorts, then... they’ve gotcha
very cool experience. great course great staff. titleist rentals. amazing view of Pacific Ocean through most of course. club attendant was great adjusted my driver when asked.
A Beautiful and Expensive place, due to Time Shares.
roomy accommodations full kitchen and dishwasher
One tuff place to play also very expressive but beautiful.
Windy the day I played making it more difficult
Beautiful course great staff and fun to play. Nice views too
Awesome views! Beautiful design, tough greens!
Beautiful golf course and well managed pro shop. Staff are very helpful and friendly. A must visit if you like golf.
Everyone was VERY friendly and paired me up with great other golfers. Wonderful experience
Decent golf course if you are staying in the area. If you are travelling the traffic can be a problem so take extra time.
Royal golf course great
Not as dramatic as I expected, but still a well run resort golf course.
Great course and great experience!
Golf was fun, ridiculously overpriced.
Enjoyed an enjoyable round. Being a higher handicap golfer and being 83 years old I found several bunkers and lost 4 balls. We played early, and finished in 4 hours. Staff was great and on our next trip I will play again.
Wide open and great views.
The courses are great but are getting chewed up do to people not replacing their divots. If you're going to play these courses, get out as early as possible as the wind will pick up and make it very difficult. I will definitely be playing here the next time I visit.
Beautiful and challenging! Highly recommended to the avid golfer. Go in the morning or late evening.
Fun course... tricky but fun greens
I loved the course. Wind and rain was definitely a factor the day that I played it. The greens are challenging.
First rate! Everyone was very nice. The course was in great shape. Even after a hurricane it was in great shape.
Ka'anapali Golf is a terrible place to play golf on Maui. I’m a well traveled golfer and play golf all over the world. Unmarshaled slow play combined with even worse customer service is a recipe for a very poor golf experience. For me, it's very tough to get in a rhythm and play well when I'm forced to wait on almost every single shot. I even called the pro shop on the 5th tee box and politely asked for someone to come out and ask the groups in front of us to pick up the pace. An hour went by and no one came out. Very disappointing. Add beat up greens and unkept fairways to the mix really means there's nothing good to find at this place. I don't mind paying $200 for a round of golf. But this place truly isn't worth $40.
Great golf course to play, beautiful..!
Great course, great scenery, great staff, even gave us cold Towels after we finished our round. Roy's bar next to the pro shop was classy and reasonably priced and had an excellent bartender.
Good course but noisey being close to the highway and it's very expensive for a round
Very nice course with awesome views throughout. Best greens and fairways I've played on. Pricey.
nice course, greens are nearly impossible to read. Practice green is a false representation of on course greens. Grainy and bouncy.
Fair course, best priced on the west side, Roys Steakhouse across from clubhouse, ice cold beer and great food. Holes 1 and 18 not good if you are afraid that you might hit some cars on the road.
Great course and great staff.
OMG was it awesome!!!! Course was in perfect condition and greens were super fast!! A must for everyone that golfs!!! See you on the course...
Great fairways and tricky greens, had two days of great golfing!
Wow! what great service and very helpful.
Beautiful views, grounds maintained nicely, most fairways were wide, staff very helpful & friendly. One of more reasonably priced courses, especially west side of Maui. Only negative is golfers not replacing divots or putting sand down.
Great shape...friendly staff
The traps have very inconsistent sand on both courses. The secondary course should just eliminate the traps and create waste area or rough as they are unplayable. Would both be excellent layouts otherwise.
Really fun course, my favorite. Pro shop is really nice and accommodating.
Beautiful place to golf
Kaanapali courses are always in great condition. Gotta love the protected side of the island too. Trade winds are more than bearable and you'll actually miss them when they take the occasional break. It also seems to get rained out less than other places on the island. Love the design of both courses... both are fair but can eat you up if you hit an errant drive or if you misplace your approach shot above the hole.
A beautiful combination of scenic views, challenging greens and lush fairways.
Good golf course well maintained.
Two nice courses Kai and Royal. Both beautiful Royal a little more difficult
An amazing and beautiful course. All but one of the staff were incredibly friendly. A few locals on the course were extremely confrontational, rude and arrogant. For they wanted to play ahead. So we let them. They teed off before the group ahead had even hit there second shot. One marshal ignored the situation and laughed it off. Not only did this marshal fail to do his job but he put patrons in danger. This is not okay. This local insinuated he wanted to fight us saying it was a "small island" and that he would "see us at the club house." Will come again but only because the staff made it right. Very respectful staff at the clubhouse at the end apologizing for the incident. However that one marshal was nowhere to be found. This course has potential to be the best, but that one marshal's lack of care brings them down notch.
Great course not too difficult. Wide enough for casual golfer. Views anyone would love
Fun layout very well maintained course.
Course is in great shape...greens were smooth and had good pace
Enjoyed the"Kai" side of the courses. Some nice "ocean views ". Staff nice and friendly.
Love this course. Played the Kai course sue to maintenance on the Royal course. Still challenging and a lot of fun.
This may be one of the worst managed golf courses in America!!!. For the premium rates they charge it is greatly disappointing. Their reservation system sucks. When you call it is in Georgia not the pro shop. Then when you arrive you wI'll find out the rate they quoted is not true. They are very rude at the course and treat you like a liar. They say "we record every conversation " so I demanded they play it back on the speaker phone and when they heard it they said"well....they should not have said that....we will honor it this time but this time only." Then when we got the cart it had gps but did not work. Then they sent a guy to meet us at the 2nd hole and he could not figure out how to make it work on his cart or ours. We saw 8 other groups go back to get theirs working also. Come to find out the kid they have for a starter is supposed to get them on and ready but was too lazy to do it. Then they say the bathrooms on the course are after 6 and 13. Turns out they are the same bathroom which is a Porta potty and they were completely full and overflowing on the ground around them. Very gross and smelly. Greens were rough and not we'll maintained. If your going to play golf in maui .....play ANY other course!!! We played Wailea twice and we're very impressed.
Great
Great course
Nice course in Maui
Fantastic course with beautiful views!
Beautiful place to stay
Good
Nice place
Nice folks. Fun courses.
Beautiful course, great setting.
Nice course for seniors with tight fairways and modestly fast greens. Very pleasant bag room staff and starter, pro shop not so much. Would definitely play again for the right rate!
Two great courses. Wonderful views. Attentive and cheerful staff.
Perfect course. Challenging. Worth every penny
Incredible experience on both courses, not very walkable.
Fun course to play with fantastic ocean views. The adjacent footgolf course is fun, but can be disruptive at times.
Beautiful view and a very nice course. The staff treated everyone very nice. Every time we come to Maui we always stop to play here. Be weary that those greens run fast as hell!
Great people, great green's and fairways. Fabulous day
Very good condition...glad we had the chance to play!!
They have kickball golfing, brings me back to my childhood every time I play!
Two great layouts to challenge your golf skills. Fun courses at reasonable rates.
Great course. Great views. Best early morning, or after 4pm. Good deal midday, but so muggy and hot. After 4pm best. Great ocean views on many holes.
Beautiful & Fun South Course. the greens were quick but true and in perfect shape. the fairways were very nice. the homes bordering the course were very high end and had great landscaping. ocean views on almost every hole. quiet and not very busy. good sand in bunkers. friendly and attentive cart girl.
Nice place
I haven't golfed here, but golf in general in Maui is ridiculous!!! What's with the massive fees??? I go to maui every year for two weeks and would play at least 4-5 times, but with those fees, I refuse to spend a dollar.... The locals pay less then 75% then tourists. Lots of revenue loss there maui. Think about it. Every time I visit, the courses are quiet....
Beautiful area
Royal Course is excellent. Well kept, greens are true, Assistants are very helpful. Great place..
Beautiful course, beautiful views!
Great views!
Another great day of Maui golf on the Royal course. Always in perfect condition, challenging but fair with incredible views! Top shelf experience and perfect customer service.
Beautiful!
Beautiful scenery. Flawless greens.
The view us gorgeous! Walking & jogging path easily accessible. Great music by the fire pit week days. Great resturants on the premises. Most of the workers speak to you as you pass each other. Multiple pools. They finally stopped people from placing their towels on the loungers around the pool while they weren't using them. That was a lot of help!! Thank you Ka'anapali North.
Excellent course and greens! Wonderful setting and views.
Breathtakingly beautiful, picturesque golf heaven
Beautiful scenery at Ka'anapali golf course. Wind didn't cooperate with us that day but the sun was great. This is just two days before a tropical storm.
Royal course is beautiful.
Excellent course! We played Kai and it was very well kept with gorgeous views, definitely will play again!
Nice greens.
Came for brunch on Sunday and it wasn't too busy. "Country Club" means a trailer overlooking the first hole and a partial view of the putting green. Food was ok. Didn't love or hate anything in particular. Probably a better grab and go after a round of golf or beers golfing buddies.
Great views while in Maui!
Great place for my first time ever playing golf
Completely uncrowded on a Saturday and course was in good shape. Got a great prepaid rate on the Internet. By far the fastest and most organized checkin I've ever experienced. Played the Kai course.
Well maintained golf course. Should have low reasonable prices for Kamaianas.
Great service and conditions
Awesome restaurant Roys. Excellent meals and service. Friendly staff and good service both in the restaurant and club house store. Would go there agan anytime i could
Everything about this course (Royal) was phenomenal, we rented clubs and they were practically brand new (Titleist) the carts were GPS and had mapped out holes, our instructor was Nick and he was amazing, friendly funny guy, the course itself was in pristine shape with epic views of the ocean making for an amazing experience, finally after 18 we were greeted by a gentleman with ice cold wet towels to wipe down, if I could give it 6 stars I would, thanks Nick and fellow staff
Awesome golf venue and staff.
I was just taking a picture with a closer look at kaanapali golf course because I still have the picture which I took a snap pic of championship skin game 2011
Had some great rounds here!
Good course..lots of sandtraps...best if go early or later
Great service and the course was in great condition
Royal course was real nice, Kai somewhat unkept (unraked bunkers).
Great conditions and challenging courses...srrvice was outstanding
I rarely complain about things, but i think this needs to be mentioned for the sake of others looking to play here. $170+$30 rider fee to play at the Royal Kaanapali. I understand golf in Hawaii is over priced; with that said, I've played on many $150-$200 courses in Hawaii, and this was by far the worst. I didn't even want to play again for $39 (the second play discount), that's how much I value this course. One thing I couldn't get over was the fact that they sprayed the greens "green" in order for them to look nicer.. It's hawaii; why do you have any issues making your course look nice? You could pay $40 from where I'm from in Canada to play a much nicer course than his. Also, the older lady starter wasn't very kind. I arrived at the first tee 6 minutes before my tee time and she told me I would have to wait until 35 minutes later because she'd already let the others off early.
Expensive but what a beautiful and unique course.
I played the Royal course while on vacation on June 6th. The course is in great shape and very tough to play with the wind conditions. The reason for the 3 star review is the staff is not very customer oriented and seem to treat customers with a privilege attitude. The starter in particular was very arrogant and was not very polite...very militant. I enjoyed the course but not the treatment.
Beautiful course, and awesome staff. Careful if it's windy, it can easily be 2 clubs.
Beautiful course. Challenging.
Staff is great, course is very nice, the 2nd hand clubs that I used were also pretty nice and the golf carts have GPS, pace was not bad at all, never waited on a group and never was being pushed, would highly recommend if you love golf!
