This is one of the best golf courses in America and is an awesome beautiful natural setting. Called The Lakes because of the three lakes on the grounds, it is not uncommon to see many native waterfowl on the water, the shore, or flying overhead. And you're sure to see an alligator swimming by or sunning on the shore. The front nine holes swing through the woods and return you to the pro shop for a quick break at The Back Nine Grill, then it's off through the woods again for the back nine holes. David Sikes, the golf pro, and his staff are there to serve you and help improve and enjoy your game to the max. Located across the road from the course are super fine cottages situated on the shore of Laura Walker State Park Lake, providing you with a refreshing and relaxing afternoon and evening of rest. Once you've played a round then settled into your cottage, you'll quickly forget about the rat race world and yet you will be only 8 miles from excellent accommodations, attractions, entertainment, and restaurant selections. A boardwalk crosses the lake right behind the cottages and connects to a trail that leads you to the park office and campground. Plan to stay a couple of nights and take advantage of all the activities at Laura Walker State Park: hiking, biking, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, paddle boating, and so much more!!

The Lakes is in great shape. Greens are consistent and roll smooth. Fairways are awesome...balls sit nice. Stay out of the rough...ball sits down like rough should. Great staff...very nice and appreciate you being at there golf course! Will be back plus they gave me a punch card...10th round free...played 27 today.

Beautiful, well kept State golf course. Fairways are manicured and the greens are moderately fast. The staff is wonderful! The customer service and southern hospitality is top notch. The pro shop is well stocked with food ( hotdogs, chips, a variety of other snacks , drinks and beer) and almost any golf related item you would need. There are some challenging holes but all levels of golfer will enjoy this course.

The fairways and greens aren't that bad but the bunkers are non-existent. Just a place where sand should be but now has weeds and grass. Plenty of wildlife to see if you simply pay attention. I paid 50.00 for 2 golfers, it was worth the price I paid and would be a 4 star review if the traps were maintained.

The course is a good play and reasonably priced. Greens and fairways are in good shape. Roughs are thick and challenging. Sandtraps are in bad shape, but course personnel told me they are in planning for the traps to be re-done. All in all, we enjoy playing here.
