REVIEWS OF Stone Mountain Park IN Georgia

Matt Jones

I walk here sometimes two or three times a week and of course I love the yellow daisy festival. Around the base of the mountain is a 5 mile walk through some beautiful scenery. Walking counterclockwise is a nice easy choice and clockwise has harder slopes for anyone wanting a more intense workout. I grew up loving Stone Mountain and it’s still a treasure for OTP East.

Where In The World Is Juliet?

This is a BEAUTIFUL setting. The park is spread out but many things to do and see. Some RV sites have a lake view. I will make sure to get that next time! It was great

Chad Gregg

We really enjoyed this and walked our legs off while we were there. The laser light show was just as good as I remember the last time I saw it over 30 years ago. The hike down the mountain was nice, the tram ride to the top, the 5 mile train ride. They all brought back childhood memories.

Carolynne White

I had an absolute blast if you have a family definitely take them so many sites to see just make sure you're at the train station on time

Adam Nott

An excellent park to visit for geological, historical, and environmental reasons! Stone Mountain Park is full of trails, hiking routes and attractions all surrounding the eponymous mountain, which is also climbable via hiking or cable car. You'd need the better part of a day to check them all! The museums and exhibits around it also highlight the history of the place. Its trails also allow a direct introduction to Georgia's wilderness, including a chance encounter with white-tailed deer! Probably the coolest place to go in Metropolitan Atlanta.

I really enjoyed doing a walk on Stone Mountain. The way is easy to walk, but quite slippery when it is wet. I would recommend to see the Lasershow, too. You have a good view from the top, and if you want you can also get up by a lift.

Alana Wag

we went to a company picnic at stone mountain and afterwards went to the pumpkin village and it was a dream. everyone was in character nobody was ever rude the only thing you need to know is to bring your own snacks because 1 slice of pizza was $5 and a regular drink was about the same. as always things like that are going to be pricey but all and all I loved it

Chris Ketterman

Great place to visit for history and shows. My son loved the Kenyan acrobats. It has an amazing view of Georgia. Family loved walking on the top of the Rock and the cable car to get there. I enjoyed the trails on the way down and can't wait for the laser show.

Nichole Koonce

Great place to get out and get some exercise. Family friendly, great festivals, safe. There is sights to see. Great fireworks show and plenty amenities for all. Recommended checking the website for current events.

Marvin Taylor

That is a great workout trying to get to the top. The view is beautiful and scary at the same time. We recommend going ahead and pay for a year of parking for 40 instead of one day for 20

Christina Blackburn-Wanko

Such a fun little hike! Sore calves the next day means it was worth the time. Good people along the trail, everyone around was very kind. I'd do it again if I lived close. I did not get to see the carvings in the side of the mountain, but it's because I was short on time and specifically went for the hike before we left Georgia.

Marion Clewett

The grounds were nice. Every car coming in to the park has to pay $20. I was here to camp and I already paid $154.00 ( 2 nights, full hookup). I think the park should give you a $20.00 credit at the gift shops ( campers only )...

Bubba Wilkes

Great Park and events. Nature is definitely in the front of their minds and the festivals are great. I recommend this park to everyone.

Kairy Marquez

Impressive place. Clean, nicely-manicured park. I went on a Saturday afternoon and most of the food stands around the park were closed. Bummer. I ended up walking to the sky tram entrance to get a slushy and water. Though I don’t mind walking, it was such a turn off to see the stands from far away and finding out they were closed once you got closer.

michiko oyama

We always have a wonderful time here. It's very amazing when you hear the history behind the story of Stone mountain.

Thomas Goossens

Had a great time. A local attraction that d not be missed. They do a lot of things all year long. Lazer light show presentations, winter the make snow on the big hill. A great attraction.

Eric Dennis

Very fun park with a good amount of activities to do. Centered towards kids on the most part, but is still really enjoyable. The mini-golf course is great and very well kept. The rest of the park is in great condition and the employees are very friendly. Been about 5+ times now, and will be back again eventually. Thanks!

Travis Knick

If you haven't been here in a few years it's worth going back. They've added some attractions. There's a 4D movie, acrobat show, butterfly experience, land and lakes tour, ropes course, splash area, cable car and of course the laser show. We had terrace seating got the laser show which is just reserved seating along the side of the lawn. It included Pop corn and soda. No Coke Zero. Only choices were Coke, diet Coke Sprite. This was part of a VIP upgrade. Only a few dollars more per ticket. Not really necessary during the week when we went. I can see the benefit on a weekend or a holiday.

Adam Van

Love Stone Mountain. Great hike. I’ve been to a dozen sunrises in the last year and have enjoyed it every time. There is a ton to do out there and a lot of fun for the whole family. I enjoy the the atmosphere of the laser show, but truly wish that they would revamp the thing. The extended version of the Star Spangled banner that they are playing now is waaaaaay too long and frankly kind of ridiculous. I love the tribute to our great nation, yet this one just goes on and on and the talent is really not pleasant to the ears.

Mary Ann Hofmann

Interesting landmark--the "Southern Mt. Rushmore"--but also a fun trail. Challenging enough to work up a sweat, but do-able for almost anyone who just keeps putting one foot in front of the other. Great views from the top, as well as food and restrooms!

L Burn

Went here my whole life as a kid in 70s and 80s. Greatest place and the laser light show is the best I've seen. Highly recommend it and it's great family time on the lawn. Bring a picnic and definitely go to the top! The history is rich. Before your get offended, restudy your history. Also, please never destroy a monument people died to create with blood, sweat and tears.

Natalia Martinez

I was super excited for stone mountain but I ended up being more excited about the Confederate carving on the side of the mountain more that anything else. The hike is nice, and strenuous and it's cool to see trees growing out of rocks and the trail is clearly marked but the view from the top is so,so and there are no water stations at all until you get to the top of the mountain, so on a hot day it is pretty bad. Also the emergency call stations seem pretty spaced apart and that was a little concerning to me. Loved walking around the other areas though.

Harrison Hopkins

Spent Wednesday at Stone Mountain Park and it was such a lovely day. Started with a cozy Picnic in the lovely picnic area, then I climbed the mountain with my Girlfriend. The weather was great and as usual, the trail was so nice to walk. Even when there are a lot of people on the mountain, I have never felt crowded on the mountain. If you want a novel hiking experience on a giant Stone-Mountain (get it?) Then I would recommend you visit on the next sunny day!

Susannah Dixon

Best place for family fun. Train ride around the mountain and sky line ride to the top of the mountain or you can walk to the top of the mountain. Great camping experience always....just remember..you’re camping on a STONE MOUNTAIN so there’s lots of rocks. Especially if you tent camp...but it’s still a great place!!!!

Regina L. Wofford

This year I hosted our family reunion at Stone Mountain Park and was very nice. We didn't commit to the catering, but I wish we had. It would have been cheaper. The scenery is gorgeous and it turned out to be a very harmonious and memorable event.

Craig Burnett

Great family place with loads of hiking trails and pretty camping sites. The ladder show is a must and if you live near by the parking pass is definitely worth it. Sunrise and sunset are both beautiful from the top of the mountain.

Gregory Brooks Jr

If you park nearby and use the walking entrance then it is great and worth visiting. I wouldn’t spent $20 to park especially if you are going there to hike the trail. Overall it is nice but they charge for everything and most of the stuff is not worth the price to me.

Alea Maines

Spent the afternoon and evening at Stone Mountain! There was so much to do for all ages. We did not get through it all. It was a great day and a lot of fun. We will be going back soon!

David B

Great place to visit when in Atlanta. Loys to see and do. Highly recommend especially for a family day

Divo Ess

Love coming here. I go here to run around and the park and walk up the mountain from time to time. When I was younger, my family and I would go camping here as well. It has a lot of other fun things to do as well, so it really has something for everyone. Truly a Georgia landmark.

Bethany McLean

Can't say enough good things about this park. It has everything you could ask for, including what I love most about parks...vast quantities of well tended nature. The Lasershow has been a summertime staple for me since childhood.

Justin Fredericksen

Pictures don't do it justice. I'm a hiker and that was a great hike! Fun day! Highly recommend!

Visit! I love it here! I'm slowly making my way through all the trails, but I'm in awe of the many events they have here. Took my hubby and two dogs here for a run and didn't want to leave. I also love that there is restricted access (parking passes needed) and a decent and polite law enforcement presence. Very family friendly. My dogs can go on most trails and I've never seen a shortage of parking.

Keri Kittinger

Such a great family day spent here! We all had a great time. The day included a trip to the top of the mountain, an adventure on the ropes course, sitting in the shade just hanging out, a 4D theater adventure, delicious fudge, and of course the light show in the evening. We did choose to leave the park to go get dinner instead of eating there. It’s a short drive to several options. We are very interested in returning to spend a few more days here in the future. It is such a beautiful place. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

RE M

Had an awesome time. Was there for close to a week staying at the Stone Mountain Campground. If staying with kids, I recommend staying in the purple loop as it is close to the pool and playground with full hookups. Plenty to do at the park with historical education, sky ride up the mountain, walking path up the mountain for those wanting a little physical challenge, train ride around the to recuperate from walking up or down the mountain, wildlife throughout the park, stage shows in the main attraction area, putt putt golf, etc. At night time, they have the mountain side laser show with music, lights, fireworks, and drones. During certain times of the year, there is a DJ type preshow to keep the kids dancing and occupied before the light show starts. Great place to visit with a lot of history and southern hospitality.

Joe Misko

What can I say? It's a huge stone sticking up out of the ground! If you love unique hikes, then this is the place for you. It's not a very long hike and there is a shop at the top, and a place or two to get something to eat or drink. Check their hours if you want to do this. Bring water on a hot day. Be aware that you will be hiking on hard rockface the entire way up. There are no soft or dirt trails. At the steepest incline there is a handrail to use if you want.

Michael Hill

The family had a blast. They have a 3 story ropes course that everyone enjoyed. The kids enjoyed the rock wall thing. We took the tram up to the top. Spent quite a bit of time walking around up there. The view was awesome. We ate lunch at the BBQ house. Wasn't bad. But, not the greatest either. Definitely have had better at other attractions. Anyway, we took the train ride around the mountain. Checked out some giant bugs and ran around the dino house throwing balls at each other. Unfortunately, we did not stick around for the laser show as everyone had had enough. All in all, a fantastic day of fun for the family. Oh, and we went on Labor Day weekend and it wasn't bad at all. We didnt wait in any lines for anything. Well, except food.

Bethany Morton

Took the grand children 4 and 6 years old to see the laser show. 2 stars because they enjoy the experience every time. Ive been going to the laser show for 30+ years, in the past few years the show has been getting worse. The play/social time on the lawn before the show is better than the show itself.

Alena Golopuz

Wonderful place!!! Huge territory very well taken care of. Lots of places for picnicking and parking scattered around the park. Beautiful lake and quiet hiking trails. Trails are of various complexity and length. We enjoyed our visit greatly and will be definitely coming back.

Trent Bernard

Went for the Independence Day Celebration. LOTS of people there! It was almost impossible to find a sitting spot that wasn’t on the rocks even two hours before the show. Get there early. The concession stands were running out of product like crazy. Navigating the park can be confusing for a first time park goer. Laser show and fireworks were interesting. Would have to try a different event next time.

Gina Lawson

So much fun to have with the family! Employees were great, super helpful and very pleasant! Love the laser/firework show! Can't wait to go back!

Rachel Allen

First time climbing the mountain. I almost quit, but I accomplished my goal. Very scenic and beautiful views at the top.

Robert Hamby

Lots to do and see. Kids weren't into at first. (Kids don't want to anything anymore that doesn't involve a video game controller or their phone) but they came around and I think they enjoyed it (after they adjusted to sunlight).

Yummy Royale

We had an Amazing Family Adventure!! My Daughter celebrated her 13th birthday here!! She said it was a birthday she'll never forget!

Haley Everson

Love visiting for the various festivals. We have been to the Stone Mountain Christmas for the last 5 years and have loved it each time! We tend to go mid week when the crowds are a bit lighter than on the weekends and that has always worked best for us! A must see ATL attraction for kids around Christmas time!

pNathan Brewer

This has always been a great place for the family. The campgrounds are great if you want to get away from things for the weekend and don't want to drive far.

redbear redbear

Beautiful well kept park with many trails and historic sites to visit. The mountain is an actual granite formation that is fun the hike up to.

Tammy Dorris

We had a blast! My son's 1st time. My 1st time since I was in my 20s, along time ago! We did the sky hike and watch the laser show! It was great!

Ivette Garcia-Cirou

It was a beautiful sight! The climb is great if you love challenges but have hiking shoes; the best and most effective way to climb up. The entire park has different attractions and great show at night.

Nina Estep

Wow is about all I can say! What a beautiful mountain. The ride to the top was fun, the view up there is really something! The history is great.Hiking back down was alot of fun also. Looking forward to visiting again.

AJ Brown

This is a fun place to bring the family or check out with friends. Challenge yourself with a hike up the massive granite rock or take the sky ride up and view the carving on the rock side. Once you're at the top, take in the surrounding area or enjoy the geographical wonder beneath you. No matter how you spend your time you're sure to enjoy yourself.

Paul S

Been visiting here for years and it seems to just get better. This last time was my first time (and the kids) hiking the whole rock. It wasn't easy but pretty awesome to do as a family. Down is a lot easier! :) They have a great selection of activities for the kids, historical houses to visit and the laser show is always a must see!

Lauren Snowden

It was a wonderful experience! My family and I enjoyed our time there from start to finish. Unless you want, there is no need to leave the resort. All of the fun is there!

Don Deal

Beautiful park. It's easy to forget how large the park is and how many activities it supports. On weekends there are lots of bicycle riders, runners, and dog walkers. I spent most of the day on Indian island, which is a secluded part of the park reachable through a cool covered bridge. Great place to at least temporarily escape the rat race.

Shady Boukhary

Takes about 25 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. The view from up there is definitely worth the hike. There is a concierge at the top where you could buy water, popcorn, and other snacks. It's also a great place to watch the sun set behind Atlanta.

Rod Werner

Was my on bucket list. The tram ride was enjoyable. Staff for most part friendly and helpful. But the tram area top and bottom Housekeeping is an issue, besides a good sweep everything needs a good scrubbing and wipe down. Touch up painting is needed everywhere. The Museum the carpets are filthy. Desk chairs have foam coming out of them Litter patrol is slacking. Walls need scrubbing. The staff closed the Museum store an hour early so they could clean and go home. At the Historical Square some exhibits were closed 30 minutes early. Some of the wood handrail posts need refurbishing at the Thorton house. The exhibits were well displayed and depicted history. Overall a great experience a little more pride passion and attention to detail. Pressure washing the carving if feasible and practical would accent the carving as it was originally carved. Great family park!

Monica Willis

Stone Mountain Park was nice. There aren't a ton of attractions there for 7th grade students though. Our kids enjoyed the ropes course right at the front entrance. Most of their time was spent there. We also had a chance to do the scenic railroad. We were able to see deer while we were riding the train, and the top of the mountain was beautiful. Maybe we'll climb to the top of the mountain the next time.

James alt

Top of the mountain. Great views. 20 bucks to get in Is reasonable. Lots of stuff to see when I come back to Georgia I will have to see more

Erin Whitty

We visited on Labor Day weekend and crowds were big! The staff did a great job of keeping lines moving for the gondola ride to the top of the mountain and the guides were informed and entertaining. The park is very well maintained and the maps make navigation easy. We really enjoyed the app that you can install and listen to facts about the park and its monuments.

Stephanie adams

So much fun!! This park is more for the outdoorsy type of people. Full of so much history it's crazy. The hike is a lot of fun and the views from the top are amazing. Many things to do from the Museum, short movies, rock climbing walls, aerial Adventures, train ride, shops, short shows, kids 3 story play area, walk through gigantic bugs area, splash playground, and of course the laser light and fireworks show at the end of the night. One of the best and most affordable things to do in this area

Sterling Mantlow

July 4th was fantastic! 30 minutes of military grade fireworks and a laser show with lots of visuals and cameos. A very unique experience! Train ride was fabulous

Daniela De Jesus

So cool. Just come packed with lots of water and a pair of comfy, non-slip sole tennis shoes. Comfy tennis shoes in general for walking the 3200 acre park. Non-slip sole if you're going up the mountain. And some chairs and towels if you're staying for the evening shows.

Tonya Harmer

Beautiful grounds. Got to catch part of the laser show and fireworks. It was cut short due to weather (we did get to see lightening hit the mountain too...pretty cool). For $20 a car to get in, you really cant beat it. If you haven't seen the laser show, I suggest it at least once in your life.

Kevin Hill

Price for the attractions are outrageous. They also failed to tell you about the skyride was closed before paying for everything. What a waste of money and our time! Never had to pay the outrageous price for the attractions! History is all good and important but we had hoped to see the pumpkin festival as well....

Adam Kolb

Great service and even better infrastructure. Its GREAT for kids. Dont go if you're trying to do cheap stuff though.

Nicolas Agostini

I have attended the Stone Mountain lights show a couple of times. The event is quite interesting, with light projections and great acoustics telling several historical facts about the USA, Georgia, Atlanta and other non-historical facts using well thought-out animations. In all, they have family friend presentations of lights, sound, fireworks and, in this last I instance, even a small swarm of colorful flying drones that are worth taking your kids to see if you have never been to.

D. Brock Thompson

Stone Mountain is a great place to walk, ride, or just relax on the lawn. You must go to the the top of the mountain to appreciate the grand view and see why Atlanta is called "City In A Forest"

Neli Mojica

There is so much to do here for outdoor and nature lovers. We rented a kayak and it was very relaxing and beautiful experience. Climbing the stone mountain could be a little challenging and slippery but the view and breeze at top was worth it!

Aimee Lim

My kids had awesome day. Love the wall climbing area. Awesome view on the top. Enjoyed the yellow daisy festival today. Organizers really work hard for the event. Shuttle buses were provided. Lots of food and stuff to buy. It.was another successful event.

Dalia Robles

This place is great for little ones as much as for older children. Adults will have a blast as well. There was so much history and education mixed with a lot of fun. The laser show was beyond what I was expecting. Definitely a place to visit at least once with the whole family!

toria jones

The decorations were fantastic!! Even though we didn't get to do much but enjoy the sites, all the fun stuff had closed due to weather or just early. That was disappointing but they were kind enough to give us tickets to use for another time, which I thought was very nice since we did pay for the package. Glow night was fun to just see. The laser show wasn't nearly as great as I was hoping but still cool.

J Dewberry

Good for kids. I'm told that the camping is very nice. Do you know how some parks have crews always cleaning, painting & doing general maintenance? This place could use some of that. Opens at 10am (approximately) and closes at 5pm (at least in September when we were there) so there should be plenty of opportunity to power wash away some of the grime. The laser show and fireworks were good. View from the top was very good.

mike dobby-jooga

Dog owners beware. The restrictions in dogs are very very tight. You're not allowed to do any activities with your family member. You will come here excited for a beautiful day with your family. You will quickly realize how pointless it is. If my dogs not allowed I'm not allowed either. I haven't felt this disappointed in a very long time. I hope they give me my refund.

Charles Day

Kyle who is from Chicago and was located at the historical home and farm walk delivered radical hospitality for our family group of 5. Kyra our conductor on the train was amazing, fabulous, and humorous. Ive never had someone so enthusiastic about creating that great guest experience for those on the train. We enjoyed the rest of the team members as well but the above two really stood out as an example of guest experience greatness. We liked the bugs life, 4d theatre, tram ride and laser show as well. Thank you to all who made it happen.

Rose Manning

Beautiful. This is a fun place to take the family. There's numerous activities, like rope climbing and a tram ride up the mountain. At first I was like, "why are we just sitting here staring at this rock"...but then it got dark and the fireworks and laser show started. It was so cool. We all had a blast.

Joe Goodrich

Stone mountain is very beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were a little disappointed that not all the restaurants were not open. And the few that were didn't have good food and was way over priced for what you got. I would suggest not going on a Sunday and eat before you go.

Roxane Holmes

We hiked up the back and parked in the neighborhood years ago and it didn't cost us anything. We also didn't see the carving that way. $20 to park. $15 to ride sky lift up and back. Seeing carving on side of stone mountain, $50 for 2 total. Plus tax. Nice carving.

Maria Fernandez

The walking trail is AWESOME! I have the year round parking paid so it makes it easier to get through the check in point. Trail is clean and well kept. Great area to spend the day with family, friends and children. It was my first time at the trail but it will certainly not be the last time! Loved it

Lisa Y. Bradberry

So much to do here....great family destination...camping, hiking, picnicing... it's a bit pricey because things are individually priced to ride on like the incline and duck boats but worth it. The Best thing is the Laser Show...take the kids..they'll love it

Cherese Mbila

Although not fond of the history or the confederate flags that still fly high nor the confederate generals still engraved on the side of the mountain or the very very extremely non ethnic laser show that hasn’t changed in 20 years I love this mountain and the workout I get when I’m able to get here. I love climbing to the top and looking out at the city below and walking around it is the best full body workout I have ever completed. I truly have a love affair with SM. Just wish they would recognize the Southern states and America are now a melting pot and we have a lot more culture now.

Berry

Love this park. Worth to pay 40 bucks to buy an annual parking pass if you live nearby and like outdoor. However free parking at SM village if you are willing to walk about half hour to the park.

Denise Glynn

Beautiful place to visit. Very calm and quiet. Bring your kayak or canoe and have good family time.

Wanda McMullen

I really enjoy hiking the Cherokee Trail. It is a moderate hike, but full of beautiful views that constantly change. This morning, we enjoyed watching 4 deer watch us.

Chris Avila

Amazing view! You have to experience it with your own eyes! Just be careful sitting on the rock a lot of ants.

C Johnston

My family and I went to Stone Mountain on a whim. I wish we had done more planning! I had assumed it was a large park with a carving, but in reality, it is that a so much more. We went ahead and paid for a year-long parking pass since we will probably be back again and two visits pays for the membership fee. We parked close to the ticket plaza. This is where it got confusing. There are lots to see and do, but it looks as though you need to pay for entrance to the plaza. This is not the case. Apparently, the ticket plaza is for purchasing tickets to the attractions, sky rail and train. We were able to freely walk around the little shops and stores, and visit the main area in front of the carving, without buying any tickets. We did think it was really odd that none of the store fronts or restaurants were open. Our visit was around 12 on a Saturday. You would think that most of those attractions would have been open for a few hours. Overall, I look forward to going back and exploring more. There were a number of other areas of the park that we didn’t get to see. FYI: you can take their sky rail or climb up to the top of Stone Mountain. The hike up is a mile long. Pets, strollers, wheel chairs, and bikes are prohibited on the trail.

Schonda Carey

Alrighty Southern belles and Gentlemen, this amusement park and show is for all ages. Come for the funnel cake stay for the laser light show. Enjoy your time with butterflies or ride around the rock on a train. Whichever you prefers go have fun doing it. Be forever happy with a day or evening at Stone Mountain we sure did.

Cattleya T.

Great place to have fun with family. Many activities for all ages. Beautiful carving and many interesting museums. Annual parking is totally worth it. Also there's a few hiking trails within the park.

Reginald Walker Jr.

This is a great tourist location for sightseeing and even working out. I climbed the entire mountain with my family and felt very much accomplished. I had planned to do it weekly but that dream did not last long lol. I really enjoyed making it to the top because my reward was a cup of ice water and POPCORN. I love me some popcorn now. Perfect 5 out of 5 stars from me.

Nancy Alvarez

This place like any other place in the world. The beauty of nature is amazing. Perfect place for the whole family. The children will enjoy all the avtivities. Taking the sky ride is a must. Wear comfortable shoes, sun screen, sun glasses, a hat and bring a lunch for a picnic up in the mountain. Do not forget to take water, although it could be bought for about $3.39 plus tax. Be ready to do lots of walking. Have fun!

Sarah Henderson

So I have extreme anxiety and have a service dog for it, I decided to go climb the mountain because it’s relaxing and again my dog is always with me at all times and I even had a worker tell me it was fine because he is my service animal (which if she would have not told me this I would have not even gave my money in the first place because I came there to CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN) As I proceeded to relax and climb up I had several people tell me to leave because dogs are not allowed and even when I was sitting I had people mumbling at me to get off and leave. Talk about having a complete almost breakdown. I could not even treat myself to something calming and tranquil because they were triggering a reaction and I just left after being there for 15 mins. I do not know why it’s even a rule in the first place to not even have dogs up there because it’s a fun climb that most pups can manage. I’m beyond disgusted at how people act and keep my money whatever but I will not be returning.

Ed Burkett

Stone Mountain Park has gone downhill ever since it was moved from being a state park to one run by a business. You can look at the buildings and easily tell which were built when constructed when State run (solid and well built) and the shoddier (profit driven) construction done under the private business. Some exhibits (like the blacksmith and Carillon) have been deleted/abandoned as they don't turn enough profit. Most of the employees are helpful and polite, but not all are. The clientele is pushy and demanding, and there are far too many of them. The food is OK, but over priced and have ridiculously long lines.

Nathan Fitch

Excellent place to explore and relax. Incredible views from atop the mountain. The laser show is impressive, as are the fireworks.

Brianne Rogers

This was a really nice place to camp! We did primitive camping, and we were literally right on the water. It was so amazing and beautiful. We could see the huge stone from our tent also. The whole park is really pretty, and it is far away from the city, but close enough to drive there. The park has a nice shop where you can get whatever you might need, for pretty cheap. The employees were all very nice:)

Magalie Pierre

I love it!! It's a beautiful place to visit, lots of fun family activities for every season. Very nice laser show, riverboat, and the scenic railroad to see the view of the mountain, so much more to do.

xo volo

Great hike on a Sunday morning. The views where exceptional and the trail was clean and clear of trash or debris. Love the hearts we found on the way down. ❤

Kimberly Heggie

Great hike to the top of Stone Mountain! We explored the Grist Mill and Quarry Exhibit, too. Beautiful views all over.

John Johnson

Graet historical site, if you're in this area of Georgia (N/W corner) and if you are at all interested in American Civil War history, then you owe it to yourself to visit this park, it's clean, safe, and it won't break your budget. Oh yes!, stay for the amazing laser/fireworks display in the evening.

Liz Coffee

There is a LOT you can do in a day here with the family. It helps to make the parking more than worth it imo. We'll hike and do laser shows, but that's about the only thing we do with the mountain and "monument" itself. The rest is just the parks and attractions really. That's the big draw.

michael johnson

Fun time. It's some place I've always wanted to go. Finally took the kids and the rain just held off. It was worth the trip for sure. We only went for the laser light show, but next time we'll go earlier in the day to try out the park.

Patrick Mccallum

Great place for family fun. We spent two days there and didn't see everything there was to see. Reasonably priced too.

Harry Wood

Fun place to do things with your family. However, this is probably a place you want to go once a year. Twice a year is a big maybe, so the annual pass isn't worth it. Invest in the annual parking pass, however, as you would be able to access quite a few things with just parking anyway.

Pete Caffall

So we went on a Tuesday which is I guess a pretty slow day. Several refreshment stands were not open and others were short of help. Train ride was not as much fun as the last time we went maybe 11 or 12 years ago. We stayed for the laser show and it was great.

Scott McCloy

If you haven't been in awhile, it is good to go back. Some nice additions, laser show and fireworks are always fun, treetop adventure and geyser tower are great for the kids.Train ride is not as good as it used to be, but having mini golf closer to the main area is a plus. It's expensive now... especially with the cost of parking and the all attractions pass, but if you plan to go multiple times in one year, purchase a 1 day pass online, then upgrade to an annual membership once inside the park. It is way cheaper that way, and they will give you credit for what you have already purchased (annual parking for example). If you will always be traveling together, have one person get a plus pass to get the parking and bonus tickets, and the rest get the regular membership. Will give you most of the perks and save some money. I don't this reserved seats for the laser show is worth it unless you are going on a very busy night... lawn seating usually isn't a problem, especially if you hit that area 2 hours before the start of the show. You can bring in your own f&b (no alcohol) to have a nice picnic. You can set out blankets and chairs, then go a do stuff, and come back before the start of the show. Laser show hasn't changed that much over the years... same stuff in a different order with more pyro. The interview with Ambassador Young prior is a nice touch.

Love Food And Travel

Love the park. If you’re a first timer, don’t miss the sky train. View from the top is truly mesmerizing. There are also several trails inside the park. One time last is $20 / car.

Macayla Hutsler

Gorgeous views! Wonderful facilities and plenty of parking. Helpful staff and really clean grounds. Perfect place for a camping trip or merely a fun day outside.

Tito David Peña Montenegro

Beautiful place to visit. Nice shows and things to do.... only cons... it is crazy expensive the food and parking fees. Bring your own food, carpool and you will be fine.

Ragini

What a nice place, Music, games, food, Stone Mountain. They have mini golf as well. Train track is also there. Sufficient parking lot and structure. Good for picnic and group activity. We went at 5 AM, then also there was crowd. Pleasure trip. Awesome sunrise and sunset point. Medium trail.

Jeff D

Beautiful place, very relaxing. Only negative was they could do better on the maintenance side. #1 attraction in Georgia should be in perfect shape, sadly, it's not. But worth the visit, family enjoyed.

Michael Jackson

I haven't been in at least 20 yrs and I was actually a lot better than I expected it to be (and it's changed a lot for the better). I was surprised at how clean the park was and there was lots of variety and things to do with a day in the park. We got the 24/ticket Groupon deal so a good value; not sure I would have liked it as much paying full price. I was impressed that the park still contains a well balanced memorial and educational forum to southern culture and history.

Doug Shaw

Beautiful green spaces with multiple attractions. Stayed at the Marriott. Also absolutely beautiful. All the staff we interacted with were southern friendly and very helpful.

Toni Roberts

Unusual, informative, interesting. Wanted to walk 1.3 miles up the mountain, but not in direct sunlight in 90 degree heat, so took tram. Enjoyable!

Wilson Meets World

Nice place to take the family! $20 entrance fee to enter the park. We went there for the laser show. It starts at 9:30pm and lasts an hour. But get there at least 2 hours early!! The lawn fills up fast!

Cherie Weaver

Love the Daisy Festival. This year it seem like there was fewer vendors. There were to many jewel and food vendors and not enough arts and crafts as in the past

Nicholas D'Uva

Interesting park with a wide variety of things to do and unique restaurants. They have a free laser light show you will enjoy.

D T

A perfect place for kids, families and all people that like to walk and to enjoy the nature. We chose to walk up and down the mountain. Is like a cardio training and upon reaching the highest part you can see a beautiful panoramic view of all around.

Meghann Gibson

We loved the walk up hike! Be prepared for a great workout! Doable for all experience levels but might take a while as there are a few intense areas!

jigar bundela

Ride AMAP

Lots of things to do here. The laser light, pyrotechnic show at night is the best! I didn't like that it was 20 dollars to park until I realized there were many things you can do without paying for a pass to the rides and amusements. You can hike and bike all over the mountain and trails by just paying to park. Or you can bike in and do everything without paying to park.

Devan Tolbert

Nice time... first in years. Decided to ride the sky ride up and walk down. The walk down is very challenging in the beginning, but good cardio. The lady at the Confederate House was very helpful and sweet.

Jaca Collins

Beautiful day. Be sure to bring your own water. Water at the top of the mountain is $3.00+ for a bottle of water.

Joshua Smith

Definitely A Special Place. Plenty Of Space To Explore And Have A Private Experience. They Also Have The Tram Ride To The Top Of The Mountain And A Lazer Show At Night. The Views From The Mountain Top Were Spectacular And Breathtaking. Fun Fact : Its The Most Visited Tourist Destination In GA And The Carving On The Side Is Larger Tha. Mount Rushmore.

Midge B.

There is a lot to see in your initial parking fee, at no extra cost. Some attractions are extra, like Zipline ( make sure you check out their website for more info). Big error to go on a holiday! The park staff was slow in creating and organizing parking for so many people! Suggest staff start designating parking as soon as park opens. And more staff at intersections to keep the intersections from bogging down! The scenery is beautiful! Lots of picnic areas, and shade. Kids can cool off at the Mill but recommend water shoes since stones are very slippery. Been here before, and enjoyed the light show. Would recommend to others.

Josh Parker

Took the whole family & had a blast! Definitely worth the upgrade to purchase terrace seating for the laser light show - didn't have to bring our own chairs and we didn't have to camp out for multiple hours on end to get a great seat!!! Thoroughly enjoyed everything.

Casey Melissa

Not very adult friendly. We went there thinking that we'd have a day full of nature and history but it was not that at all. Online makes it look like a park that has a couple attractions and festivals but its a full on theme park for kids. The Mountain was cool but the lines for scenic railroad were ridiculous and we quickly realized that was the only adult attraction that was open. We tried mini golf but it took 45 minutes just to complete one hole and we wanted to check out the historic square. Our pamphlet said the historic square was open until 7 but it closed at 5. We spent the entire afternoon looking for something to do and nothing was interesting for two adults... even the restaurants started closing early or were rammed with people. We didn't even stay for the lazer show cause we were so bored.

Andre Stewart

A great spot for nature lovers.. I absolute love going here to escape and soak up all the natural beauty and breathe in the fresh air.. Lots to do and see for kids and adults.. Renew my yearly pass each year without hesitation

Tammy Brown

This trip was a neat experience for my family. It came about through my children doing a state study on GA amd one of my children requested to the see the carving. We all enjoyed the history here. The carving is really amazing to see. We hiked up the mountain and my children loved it. Some of them were ready to hike back up again. The view from the top is amazing! This will definitely be a memorable part of our trip.

Robin Caseria

The Labor Day weekend was busy as usual. The Laser Show and fireworks where amazing. The park is beautiful and the Carving is spectacular. Year round fun can be found here.

James Niemiec

Stone Mountain is lagit! we needed to burn a few hours after arriving early to Atlanta. I saw this on the map and decided to give it a go. I had somewhat average expectations.... I was so happy to find a place I would come back and visit for an extended stay. It was awesome!!! So many friendly people and plenty of places to walk, hike, run, bike, climb, fish, or just relax and have a picnic. If you are looking for something to do, this should be at the top of your list.

kim edwards

So much fun lots of things to do . Laser show was great. Fire works after was great . Can't wait to go back for the pumpkin festival.

Andrew Metcalfe

Beautiful natural resources and very adventurous hiking trails are ruined by a legacy of confederate monuments, and far too frequent requests for money. Concessions here, including activities for the kids, are far too expensive: a family should expect to pay well over $150 for a visit. (in a state park!) Confederate monuments appear to be Anachronisms, but a bigger problem is these monuments are relatively recent installations. State parks should be for all residents, and this one is unnecessarily political.

Kelvin Raharja

The kids had a blast for the whole day. Yet we still did not get to explore everywhere. Lots of activities for everyone, yound and old. We had such a great time that we upgraded to a membership. We're planning on coming back a few more times this year.

Adam Ganong

Always a fun event on the lawn at Stone Mountain. The laser show never gets old. Take the cable car to the top or hike it! The views from the top are beautiful. Get up before the sunrise and hike the mountain and watch the sunrise.

Robert Allen

Stone Mountain Park has a deep history that varies depending on who you speak to. There are numerous activities to partake of. You can walk to the top of Stone Mountain or take the Tram Way. There is a facility at the top of the mountain and the view is full circle spectacular. I invite you to see for yourself. Happy outing.

Katrina Thompson

A great place! It's very family friendly and interesting story. The annual membership is well worth the price.

Karen Mason

Great place for walking outside. You can walk around the mountain or use the sky tram but you will need to pay extra. At Christmas time, the have a parade, light show, and they make snow so you can tube down the little mountain. The carving is beautiful!

Tukker_ Barnes

Beautiful park with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. A bit pricey but definitely worth it. The customer service in the candy shop sucked otherwise it would gotten 5 stars.

rachel turcin

Stone Mountain is a must see park in Georgia. I’ve been going for many years and enjoy every second of it. The hike is a mile moderate hike. There are spots to stop along the way to rest and take breathtaking pictures. The top of Stone Mountain is the highlight of the hike. There is a store on top with food and refreshments. The lawn is also a great sight to see. In the summer they project a laser show spectacular with fire works. The show is fun and family friendly. It’s best to look online beforehand to see what days the laser show is showing.

brz ghost

Good place but they need to give better information regarding the show that is at this time since you have to pay for all the attractions and some are closed and the amount that is paid is too much just to see the lights out there in nice place outside

John H

Took the family on vacation here and the Gergia Aquarium. The view from the top was fantastic. So much to learn just from one trip here. Wish we had got to see the laser light show but we had other places to go. You could easily spend the while day here.

Erick Melo

Great spot for a quick hike. First time I went I decided to just follow the path which is outlined all the way up. The second time I went I made my own path. Found more experienced hikers along the path and it was an overall fun expirience.

J Small

Laser show is AMAZING. Best I've seen in a very long time. The combination of lasers and 3d projection mapping along with fireworks just keeps you going. Well worth the trip

Gee Peters

If you want a family fun day filled with activities designed to bring the kid out of any human being then Stone Mountain Park is your destination. There is something for everyone. From walking around the 5+ mile mountain to climbing up the side of the mountain and all kinds of cool attractions. The laser show is a must! Owe it to yourself to discover this hidden jewel. You won't be mad.

Charles Hamilton

I run up the mountain every morning, so I strongly suggest buying a parking pass. The laser show and attractions are worth the money. Also the landscape is worth seeing from the mountain top especially when the sun is rising or setting!

Marcus Hawthorne

The family and did the trails today and it was a nice workout for all. Kids as young as 3 were able to climb the rocky mountain. Clean, AC facilities at the top and bottom of the climb.

Tim Harpman

Patriotism was awesome to be a part of. Glad to see it was just my family. It was was a great celebration with different race, nationalities, religion. Everyone got a long and was proud to be a part of it. America!

Jerrie Johnson

The Evergreen Marriott was fascinating. Bell hops everywhere and they made you feel like a queen. Just perfect for my birthday

Sean Burton

This is quite the adventure one can take for a day. At the park there is a wide area to walk up the side of this enormous rock. Takes a good 30mins depending on your speed. There are other areas in the park as well. Like a golf course I believe. Once at the top, you have the option to ride back down on a skyline type ride. However, they take advantage of you with the price at $12 a person. The views are great and the area is unique. Just guard your money wisely

Margaret P

Evergreen Marriott is nestled within Stone Mountain Park and is a wonderful place. Food in the restaurant spectacular, poolside clean and comfortable, staff friendly, professional and helpful! Great weekend experience!

Saba Aslani

Great place for hiking. Sky ride distance is pretty short tho. I know sky ride distance as long as 20 minutes. This one barely gets to 1 min. But the scene is wonderful from the peak.

Mark Tichgelaar

Visited Stone Mountain Park on our way back from our vacation in Fla. We had a great time. Bought the sunset pass (all attractions plus laser show terrace). Each attraction by itself was so so, but when combined in one evening, made for a night of fun capped off with an amazing laser and fireworks show. Highly recommended for a family.

Adriana Belloso

I had an experience of a lifetime here! Stone Mountian has simply the most spectacular views has such a perfect atmosphere for the family. I'd say people of all ages would enjoy the beautiful and bright light show in the evening! This attraction is certainly wonderful, can't wait to return on my next visit!

Mohini Mani

Aside from all of the reminders that the South wishes they could have kept their free slave labor that made the United States the world power that it is today, it is a beautiful place geologically, and it's great conquering the mountain in the morning before the sun gets too hot. The parking is high it you'd like to save yourself a 10-15 minute walk to get inside the park, and the annual parking passes, which are a good deal at $40 considering the daily rate is $20, cannot be removed if you need to change vehicles. This should change.

Jannaya LaFrance

Such a great time at snow mountain last winter! Especially since we didn't get snow at all. Tubing was fun and the kids got to see Santa. Great family time

Kendall Dodson

So much to do! Hiking up the mountain, taking the sky ride or just exploring the park. Want to go fishing? No problem. Golf? Riverboat ride? Need a place to play with the kids? How about the world's best laser show and fireworks spectacular? It's all there and much, much more. It's a must see destination no matter where you're from.

Eunice Otutua

I don’t play around when I start climbing the mountain. The view at the top let’s just say it’s breathtaking(lol and not because I’m huffing and puffing when I get to the top). I suggest going early in the morning. Especially during the summer. You don’t want the sun beating down on you. Great way to work out

Cory Torrella

Pros: It's very patriotic. The entire place is great for kids. The hike to the top is worth it. The light show was worth staying up for, too. Cons: Once the laser show is over, leaving becomes a chaotic event within itself. Getting out of the parking lot will take forever on a busy night. Also, the popcorn/beverage stand closes well before the light show begins, so you can't buy another over priced soda when your child nails a goal-kick to yours down the grassy hill.

Priscilla Horne

I love this place! So beautiful here and we actually walked 5 miles around the Mountain instead of up the hill which is almost 3 miles up and down. Walking around you will find the history of Stone Mountain and a beautiful lake! I'm going to come in the winter as well. They said its beautiful when it has snow! When me and my sister was walking up the hill during the 5 miles. We almost gave up..so I looked down and this is what I saw. God reminded me of his strength and love
