REVIEWS OF Heritage Golf Links IN Georgia

Chris Tucker

I've been a member at Heritage Golf Links for 3 years and watched it continuously get worse. When you look at the course, it's beautiful! When you play, the tee boxes are rough, the sand traps are more dirt and rock than sand, and the greens are some of the slowest and most bumpy that you could be on. For the prices they charge, it should be one of the best courses in Atlanta, but it's not even close. I've given it years to improve because the membership was a steal... but always know, you get what you pay for. Improve the course, and I'll be back.

This review is more for Blue Giraffe golf institute at Heritage. I have been taking lessons there for three months now and have never hit the ball better. Chad and Richard are both excellent instructors. They work with your natural swing tendancies to get you in the best position to hit the ball and use the latest golf technology to help you truly understand what you need to do to make contact like the pros. I've tried had several different golf instuctors over the years and I can honestly say Blue Giraffe is far and away the best. Chad has me hitting the ball better with every club from longer and straiter drives down to high lazy pitches that bite at the pin. Highly recommended. The course at Heritage is in good shape. It is shorter than most but has lobular multi-tiered greens that protect it from low scores. Guys in the pro-shop and the kids working the bag drop are always pleasant to deal with. Great twilight deal including free draft beer. Large driving range and a couple of practice greens to work on your game. Definitely a course worth checking out.

Nice driving range

Very disappointing last Saturday. I have played the course many times over the last 15 years and through the multiple owners. This was the worst I have seen the facility. No range balls for almost 30 mins., no one working the cart area to help with bags, we teed off 30 mins. after our scheduled T time and it took 3.5 hours to play 9 holes because of the amount of players and slow play. Also, no cart service for the entire front 9, how do you pass on an opportunity to sell drinks? My quests were beat after the first 9 and decided to call it a day. I inquired in the pro shop about a rain check for the back 9. The young man scoffed at me and said it was Saturday, what did I expect. He said there was nothing he could do and dismissed me. All of this while they are pushing a monthly membership. Well I am just a small business owner but it would seem that you would be a little more customer friendly, especially when pushing for new members. I have a feeling the club is struggling again and hopefully the next owners will be more attentive to the business and players. And to the young man in the pro shop, with your poor attitude you better hold on to that job. I can't think of why anyone else would want to hire you.

Nice course. Very challenging. I played Heritage to Legacy and the fairways are in good shape even in the winter. The greens could use a bit of work. I say that because I remember this place from a few years back and they were amazing, but as always I blame the dirt bag players that don't fix their pitch marks mostly. Some of the bunkers could use a face lift. Other than that it is one of my favorite lay outs in the Atlanta Area

Should give discounts for course conditions. Pace of play is slow. Not looking for a quick round..this is the place.

I have been playing this course for numerous years dating back to before Affinity owned the course. Let me start by saying initially I thought the new ownership under Adam Owen was going to be great. They created what seemed to be a deal that was best in town (depending on where you live) with rounds of golf and range time included in the fee and the fee is reasonable. Man was I wrong, not only did the course take a beating but they are also very greedy as their spacing is terrible (try to get to many players out at once). Rounds went from 4.5 hours to 5.5-6 hours so fee reasonable yes but worth it no. furthermore to make up for the reasonable fee they increased beverage and food costs and the service diminished because of the sheer volume of players. I actually continued to pay may monthly fee and continued to dump money in. Then when it came time to cancel because my work schedule picked up and I did not play there for 6-7 months "They could never get my written notice". I finally got them to accept my email as the written notices were not working and they still continue to charge me. As a matter of fact Adam Owen personally wrote to me "I have received your email and phone messages, you have been removed from our CC processing portal and I would suggest you dispute this charge with your CC company. Our CC company has sent us an updated list of our clients that are being billed and you are not on the list so I have no explanation" - Adam Owen (Good ownership). So, I have filed a claim to the Governor's office of consumer protection including all of my correspondence with Adam. I will be filing a claim with the BBB. Play at your own risk folks. There are some really good folks over there and I would have continued to come and play there for 1 off circumstances, but I will not go somewhere that treats consumers this way.

Worst, Worst, Worst customer service ever. Go there if you want to waste your money and time...7 hours to play 18 holes & the manager did nothing and kept lying.

Down in Atlanta for the weekend, played this place for the first time and no complaints, no reservation just a walk in. Got us going with an hour wait. Used that time for a practice on the massive range. The range is as good as any I've seen or practiced on. The starter got us out earlier than expected on the Heritage 9 and from the off every hole is a picture. Not the best time of the year visually but boy the course is a stunner. Keep it in play and you have a chance, greens are a bit tricked up, plenty of, or to much slope on them, you have to be in the right place to have a chance at 1 or 2 putts, failing that and you are rolling off the green. Went to the shorter Tradition 9 for the back nine. It was virtually empty but just as fun, again greens were a bit tricked up. They have done a good job of fitting 9 on this small bit of property. Pace of play was good, weather probably helped, teeboxes need work, fairways were good, bunkers were fine though a little wet in places due to recent rain. Staff friendly, happy to chat and help. No problem recommending this place to play golf.

This course has been really fun for me. I love that there are 27 holes and I really enjoy the layout. It’s pretty challenging and every hole is really different which I enjoy. I’m giving it 5 stars because of the bang for your buck. I play the twilight rate and it’s been around $20 after 6PM. I feel like that’s a fantastic deal for the quality of the course. I played yesterday August 4th and the course has gone downhill in the last 6 weeks since I’ve played. The greens were not as good and the bunker upkeep was pretty bad.. it was sad to see the course be in worse shape than before. 6 weeks ago I had zero complaints but yesterday I had a couple complaints with the condition.

Mike Pascucci

Played there yesterday 7/27/16. The only reason they got one star was because THAT was the minimum required. Greens were top-dressed and in terrible condition even without the top-dressing, to the point where some of them were almost bare. That information was neither shared with us when the tee time was made via phone and in advance, NOR when we paid the $50 full-price greens fee at check-in. This dog track is more of a 50 cent golf course than a $50 dollar one. We won't be back.

A most dignified and relaxing setting!

Bar Manager Tan very unprofessional

Zeke Hathcock

The staff were extremely rude in the pro shop.

jeff hunt

The Heavy guy on the register was pretty rude on checking in and paying. Not impressed with the only staff I interacted with. Cart died on the ninth hole, luckily we were right at the clubhouse. The fairways are really nice and scenic. The bunkers are red clay and rocks, they need work. Greens were very slow with many ball marks that were not repaired. It's a tough layout. Quite a few times hit my drive right down the middle of the fairway but had a funky lie. With all the other options in the ATL, I won't play this one again.

Aamir Jan

The golf course is decent but the bunkers are terrible. One thing that is a turn off is that these folks overbook all the time. Soometimes there are 4 groups on the same hole.

Nathaniel Ballance

Played here for the first time 4/11/15 and really enjoyed it. Went out with two decent golfers and two newer-to-the game golfers (myself included!) and had a good time. The course was beautiful and well-kept in my opinion. Greens were true and fairways and bunkers were all in good condition. The course was fun and challenging, although the pace was a bit slow. Took us close to 5 hours to get through the round. Overall, a very good place to enjoy a one-off round of golf.

Phipps Marvil

Sure it's not Sawgrass, but absolutely beautiful course when the weather is nice. Driving range is a great atmosphere.

John Marshburn

Good public course.

Edward Jackson, Jr.

This is a great course to play & I love it. It is under new ownership & management and it's one of the most challenging golf courses to play in the Atlanta area. It is well kept up, have excellent practice facilities, practice bunkers, practice putting greens, practice chipping greens, practice pitching greens, nice driving range, and they are still making improvements to make the course even better. I would highly recommend this course to the high, middle, & low handicappers. It will get your game right sooner or later. Another reason why I like this course is that the layout is so nice & picturesque! Note to high handicappers: sure the course will make you shoot near the 100's. But at least you can have fun doing it. So bring plenty of balls... Btw, this is a great place to have a golf tournament. Contact Scott Curial at Heritage and he can help you with any of your needs.

Played this course once, if it wasn't a 6 hour drive away I would play here every week. I posted my worst scores here back when I played on the varsity golf team in high school. I had a great experience and plan to return one day to break under 80 here.

David Vernon

Last year, I would’ve given 4 or 5 stars. The fairways are rock hard and grass is thin. Greens punched recently, rolling slow and bumpy (and burnt around the edges). It’s hard to justify playing here when so many courses are in great shape around town. Hopefully it greens up soon...

Bryan King

Tee off with a smile! I really enjoy this course, and the staff is friendly, courteous and looking to serve customers. No joke on the service either. They will get your bags, load them up and have it all ready for you when you come out of the club house. Last time I visited I was only going to the range, and a staff member cleaned my clubs while I purchased some range balls! I've played there several times in the past year and have a great time, every time.

Carts were poorly maintained and UNSAFE to operate. Staff acknowledged this, and didn't seem to care. Manager offered a partial refund due to my cart breaking and having to wait 45 minutes. I agreed, but then he switched it to a credit. He also informed me I was lucky to get that.

Brandon Waterhouse

Has the potential to be really nice course. I know they are working in the greens but they are a 6/10 to me. A lot of bumps on the greens due to people not fixing their divots. And all you need to due to help out tee boxes is move the stakes around. It’s a decent course but you’ll enjoy it more if you pay less than 30$$

Michael Lelko

For the 5th time we only got through about half the course in 3 hours. If there are 10 tee times available, they will book 30. Do not go here. You will wait an eternity due to overbooking

Course is in great condition, staff is very professional and Club House is very Cozy . But the course it self is a beast. Extremely Difficult!! Blind tee shots, very bumpy and hilly fairways, downhill/ uphill tee shots. Sand traps are of some sort of mud/ red clay. Game Pace is slow, took 5 hours to play 18. I am a 12 handycap and shot 100+ on this course. I will not set foot on this course ever again.

I really enjoyed this course, well maintained and they are good about keeping pace up. However, we did not see the cart girl once until we finished the 18th. That is the reason why I would not go above 3 stars.

Course is beautiful. Nice challenging layout, especially the Heritage 9. Greens are definitely inconsistent with several appearing to be almost lost. It is a lot of fun to play and very spread out for the most part. Definitely enjoy my rounds here.

There's a lot of potential here, but I'm not sure it's more than potential at the moment. Fun layout and challenging greens - which I enjoy. However, I was disappointed to find out the greens had been aerated after I walked on the first green, rather then before I paid. The tee boxes had hardly any grass on most holes and aeration aside, the greens were in pretty rough shape at times. After working at a course for 5 years I get what it's like trying to maintain bent grass greens in the Georgia heat - there's only so much you can do. That being said, it's a fun track, but I'll only return if I find out the course conditions have improved.

Fabulous dinner brunch with some friends...u don't have to be a member to enjoy the restaurant & delightful bar! Delish food and yummy inexpensive cocktails! The waitress and bartender served up 5 Star service! We we're so impressed with the scenery too!

I’ve come to this golf course for a couple of weeks now and the service has been terrible towards me. I made it a point to call and find out the hours of operation because I showed up 2 times before and the golf shop was already closed each time. Today, Sam informed me that the golf shop closed at 6PM; I also talked to Erica who let me know the range closed at 7PM. I showed up at 5:30 and was denied the ability to purchase a small bucket of golf balls to hit on the range. The young man behind the register said he was already “shut down” for the day. There were several men in the golf shop browsing as well as several men on the driving range still practicing.

I absolutely love the course. Perfect location, very challenging layout, and very friendly staff. The condition may have been down from the past, but with the price, and you don't have to drive 40 mins out, I am a frequent visit Heritage Golf Links. I've been playing here for a while and seen some management changes. The course could sometime got beat up with the amount of traffic they get here, but I am no pro. I enjoy the challenge and the layout of this course. They got 27 holes here. Heritage and Legacy is your perfect 18. Tradition is shorter, yet challenging with narrow fairways and more sloppy greens. They also offer hitting off the grass driving range on the weekends, which is a plus. Try come here during the day to avoid hitting the ball into the sun at the driving range. All in all, if you expect to play a perfect condition course, this is not the place because most suckers don't fix ball marks on the green and there's nothing they can do about it.

The weekday rate was around $55.00 with tax. They do not offer a senior rate, shameful. Their bunkers are the worst conditioned I've seen anywhere in Georgia. I play all around town and can honestly say I've play better quality municipal and state park courses. The overall quality could be significantly improved with serious investment in bunker repair. This is not a $55.00 green fee worthy course all though fairly scenic fairways decent greens, although much slower than most I play. I would not drive past numerous courses of good quality to play Heritage again. Was told by several of the workers that the bunkers have been a long standing problem.

On a positive note the course is fun and challenging, but they should call their sand traps clay traps. My issue is with the monthly membership plan, which included unlimited driving range balls and 1 round of golf. I recently dropped my membership, due to not being able to get out to play golf enough to justify the fee It was a rude awakening to say the least. I paid for February and came in to cancel my membership going forward on February 6th. I was told that I had to pay through March (not happy but I chalked it up to it is what it is), but the rounds would be carried over for 90 days with one dropping off every month. I looked at my credit card statement today, and they charged me for April. I called and spoke with the owner Adam. He told me that it was a clerical error and that it would be credited back (we'll see). He also told me that once I was out of the system the rounds I paid for already were null and void. When I protested this policy and suggested he might want to change this, he became extremely rude and hung up on me. I would highly recommend joining this membership unless you are retired and can take full advantage of the deal. Otherwise, good luck getting out of it!!

Michael Gotham

Would you like someone to steal your hard earned cash? Well folks this is the place to go. Lessons were purchased for me and valid for a year. This was paid to Heritage. After one of the instructors left to move to California I was told that Heritage would not honor the rest of my lessons because they had already paid the instructor. The instructor was a Heritage employee! After the manager (Adam) ignored my calls and messages 4 times I finally got in touch with him only to tell me that he would not honor the remaining lessons. Talk about scum bags... There are plenty of other public courses that take care of their customers. I'd recommend choosing another course to play.

Donald Campbell

Great layout, beautiful scenery, but greens are terrible, too much Mark's, dibits #2 omg. Does not worth price.
