This Golf is classified in the category of Golf course.
This course is interesting, however it is also apparently a walking trail. I counted 6 people walking on the cart path who I had to wait to get out of the way. Then when I finished I was harassed by the cart staff for making them wait. This was at 720 when I had to wait on walkers to clear through. Their are many other courses in ATL/metro tharanage their course better with a lot less$.
Revolutionary for sure and in a good way! Great property that now has a very good golf course on it. Conditions were really nice especially the greens. Certainly a little confusing the first time out but easily understood once you get going. Yes the ground is hard however over time it should soften up and mature. Staff was friendly and helpful. Practice area for hitting balls is a huge addition however chipping/putting area is a bit small. I did not see the Cupp Links/wee links unfortunately. Looking forward to taking my kids to play soon.
Will be very fun when complete. Only practice facility intown. Buy a couples lesson with your 15 year old daughter for more balls than you can strike and good instruction for parent and kid.
Nice to have a course in town but too expensive for what you get. $45 for 9 holes in the afternoon. Ground is so hard you need a hammer to get the tee in the ground. Which they provide. $15 for 70 balls at the range and it's mostly off mats. They have a nice little pitch and putt course it looks like to practice but can't use it. It's got local going for it I guess and doesn't take 6 hrs to play like Chastain.
hard as a rock tee boxes
Bobby Jones Golf Club is the place you go to play when you're cutting out of work early, or taking a "half day". It's conveniently located close to just about everything from Midtown, Westside, and Buckhead. I think the reason people see it as challenging is because it's short and the lay out is kind of confusing. You can be standing on a tee box and not know what direction to hit the golf ball, which makes the game even harder than it already is. It gets really busy and you can easily wind up with a 4 hour game, but all in all, it's worth it. Relatively cheap and ample parking help seal the deal.
Rude ... Rude.. and rude
Typical city course. Strictly convenient
This course needs a lot of work from the clubhouse which needs a paint job to the greens and fairways very much underkept. $40 is way too much I will never go back. A one star rating is being generous. I'd be embarrassed to be a part of that course
Very good golf course
Well maintained course, fun to play on a weekday morning. Picturesque, relatively short, but not easy.
Great course to play in the city. Full 18, 2 par 5s, 4 par 3s and a good choice of par 4 design for the rest. Carts are a little old school, but they're electric so no noisy gas ones. Course is well maintained and great views of the city.
(Translated by Google) Hi I veysel my local guide on google maps My travel guide is very much on google maps. This place bayabi guzel nicee yer The only problem with this place that I'm going to be directed to is the very worst order that came 13min when I ordered the table so it was too late to order.
The people in the golf shop were very friendly the cart people were not . The course itself was almost like a cow pasture . Not a very well kept course
If you do not care of the quality of your clubs, play here. The course is poorly maintained and needs a total makeover. This public course is great practice before a tournament if you want to practice hazard shots.
Golf is for tiny balls, but the views are nice. I hope they turn it into a drone park soon.
The 2 tiered greens are a joke if you’re trying to putt to the other. Downhill doesn’t stop. Up hill...might as well chip. Tee boxes are so hard you can’t push a tee in it. Their tee box system is an excuse to minimize maintenance. They cut down all the oaks. You can hit a drive 3 holes over and still make par. It’s entertainment, not golf. If that’s what you like. Overpriced because it’s new.
Overall great improvement. I have played twice, most recently mid September. The signage has been made a little easier to follow since the first round, but it’s still more than a little confusing. The course itself is great.. good fairways, excellent greens. My only serious complaint is hole 9. I played it first on the Magnolia layout, second time on Azalea. It’s much worse on Magnolia, with two target areas you can’t really analyze, a double dogleg and a narrow approach between trees to a green difficult to understand from the fairway. Azalea was only marginally better. Either way, these fairways need better definition with shrubs or something to avoid confusion as to where to hit. AND I was playing with a good golfer with many rounds on the new layout and he was having the same problems. Keep it up!!
Ужасно е !!!
I am nostalgic to this course. The property has become to valuable for a golf course. Better play it before it disappears
Great golf course since it has been redesigned!
My choice of golf courses in Atlanta. It's pretty challenging, cart rentals are cheap, and the holes are very well maintained. I'll keep coming back here for years to come.
Just spoke to someone at the club house, was the rudest person i have ever spoken too in my life. Do not go here!
Nicely kept fun course. Employees are awesome.
Being torn down next year to turn into a 9 hole. Have not done any maintenance this fall with construction coming next year. Charged $45 to play without question the worst course conditions possible. Greens are all dead, fairways and tee boxes haven’t been mowed in months. Was actually hopeful I would get refunded, but not so lucky. Terrible.
Nice course, challenging and long. But the hole configuration is slightly confusing, newcomers might get lost on the front nine and not realize it until it's too late.
This was my first golf outing of 2013, and it was very enjoyable, from reserving a tee time in person a day in advance, a pleasant starter interaction, playing with a couple of cordial, well-mannered men on a beutiful spring day. The course is in vastly better condition than when I first played here nearly a decade ago as part of a Georgia Tech outing. The greens were actually better than the ones on a men's pro tour event a couple of weeks ago. Kudos to the groundskeepers. My only recommendation would would be for encouraging play to move along faster. Our round took approximately 4 1/2 hours, in part due to a riding foursome in front of us that had more than a hole open in front of them. We were walking. We were not asked to play through at any time during the round.
For an older style course, Bobby Jones is a lot of fun. It is not the plush county club if that is what you are looking for but sometimes you just want to get 9 in on the way home and this fits the bill perfectly for me.
For downtown golf, it gets the job done.
Bobby Jones is great city course when it's lush and green. However, the Front 9 is in really bad shape right now because of the flooding that has occurred there. I paid $40 plus dollars over the weekend which is way too high for how the course is. I won't play there again until the grass grows up through the sand. It's just a big sand trap out there. I'm really hoping it fills in soon because the course is so convenient.
I am employed as a Nanny of 3 & 1/2 years for a family with a little girl. She's been having tennis lessons at Bitsy Grant (which is adjacent to Bobby Jones golf) for 2 years now. The staff are helpful, kind and wonderful with the children.
Took an Uber down here and didn’t feel like fooling with bringing my clubs so I figured I’d just rent a set. Went to check out and it was $56 for the round and $75 to rent a set of clubs. $75?!?! What a joke. F this place.
The best part of this course was when I got In my car and left!!! They have 32 rangers following you on the course, and if you bring a beer on this course they will give you a full body cavity search, done by a old guy.
I just can't believe they're going to tear this place up for the sake of kasim Reed's boondoggle
For $32 a person, enjoy sandy greens, water hazard sand traps, and mud fairways. This extravagant course was in such great shape that i could only manage to play 5 holes before i was worn out from how amazing it was. For real, this is the worst course i have ever played. And i have played some pretty bad courses... I wouldn't play on this course if it was free. I asked for a refund, and i was given a voucher for 9 holes. The snooty college kid at the pro shop acted stunned that i was telling him what terrible shape his course was in. Terrible customer service in my perspective. I would highly recommend going anywhere else.. You would have more fun at a driving range.
Please drain the water from the sand traps. Please trim back the trees from the swamp on number 4. The opening to the green is too narrow, and requires perfect tee shot and follow up shots. Tee box on number 6 is partially blocked by trees on right.
about average
No character or interesting features at the new course. Plays like a giant cow pasture. Cost is ridiculous. $70 to play the same 9 holes twice. $15 for a bucket of range balls (used to be $24 to play 18 with cart at the old course). Would give it one star but at least it’s close to city.
Golf course is ok. Location is prime, being in the south/middle part of Buckhead. The greens roll true. There are no tee boxes yet, and the ground is incredibly hard. Good luck getting a non-wooden tee in. The fairways are not distinguished from the rough, as there aren't different cuts of grass. This makes the holes hard to visualize at times. This course may be better after all renovations are complete, but paying $40 for 9 holes on the weekend and a 2.5 hr round will keep me away from playing again for the time being.
No tee boxes. Confusing layouts. Cool golf carts, but not worth the money. Can’t get a tee in the ground because it’s too hard. Don’t waste your money.
I have never played on a course and heard "four" so many times. It's impossible to go there for the first time and have any sense of direction of where your supposed to hit the ball. Horrible course layout and the Bermuda was in horrible condition though it was still dormant. The staff was unorganized. Save yourself a greens fee
Wonderful golfing inside the city limits. Historic course and beautiful old growth trees lining the fairways. LOVE this course.
I've never played there. It can be seen from the Tanyard trail.
Great course to shoot some low numbers on. Saturday mornings can be a 5 hour round though. Greens and fairways are in good shape
Bobby Jones Golf Courses looks like a great place to golf but dangerous for motorist driving by. I guess my windshield was apart of the course. Which makes me liable for the Bobby Jones Golf Courses or golfer damages made to my vechile. Smh
No parking, no range, greens looked dead. Staff was sub-par as well. Look elsewhere for a nice round.
This a great course! I give it 3 stars because it is obviously not a prestiges country club, or some well known public course, but it is very good for what it is. I am scratch golfer and this course is great for beginners and skilled golfers. The course is only 5800 yards.... But! The layout was very well thought out and there is a lot of places you can get in trouble if you play it aggressively. I am a big fan of courses that make you think about your tee shot, and where there are a few options on how to play the hole. I'm a fan and will definitely play it again.
This is one of the most outstanding municipal golf courses in the country. A few years ago they installed brand new Championship Bermuda greens, identical to the ones the PGA Tour made East Lake install a couple of years ago. The bunker complexes were also renovated as was the historic clubhouse. And check out the active hawk population. How often to you get to see red tail hawks flying around with 80 story skyscrapers in the background? The old growth trees, planted as saplings to line the fairways 80 years ago, are remarkable. It's a little short at 6,000 yards from the back tees, but that's a good thing for high handicappers. And low handicappers? Have a blast, a single digit handicap player has a decent shot at shooting par 70 everytime he tees it up. Classic old time design that's very walkable and very inexpensive, even for non city residents. It can get a little crowded during the good weather months, so it would be a good idea to go for a very early tee time if playing on the weekends.
Always packed on the weekend no worries. Course in okay condition. Over priced but where else is there close.
Enjoyable. fairly simple. pretty good design. condition is not as good as i had hoped.
Two of the greens looked like they were 90% consumed by mold...basically putting on cement. The staff had apology notes on the carts that stated that, but there were other greensthat had that issue in patches. Stagnant water on some fairways....trash hanging from trees in the creeks. Had some nice holes....but overall needs some money to get it I'm shape.
I don't play golf but the golf course is attached to two things I love in Atlanta. 1) Bitsy Grant Tennis center and 2) The Northside Beltline trail. Recently they added a 2 mile path thru the golf course. I walked part of just yesterday!
Greens are in great shape and clubhouse renovated. Will be back.
Bobby Jones would roll over in his grave if he saw these course conditions. The greens are not green, they are brown. Not just brown patches of grass, but entire surface areas look like they have been set on fire, especially on the 2nd. The sand traps were full of water and mosquitoes. There were a couple of tee boxes where finding a flat place to stand was a challenge. If your shot strays off-line and you are in the woods...forget it. There is so much undergrowth, you need a weed whacker to to find your ball. The worst part is the geese. There are a lot of geese. I mean, A LOT! They are loud, they are in the way of your shots (they hang out on the greens...im not kidding) and their poop is on the greens (maybe that’s why the grass is so dead). I had putts on two different greens that had a large amount of goose poop in my line. I don't know what the rule is on this and whether I could move my ball. You can't just brush goose poop away like a leaf, it is stuck to the grass. Even if you do sweep it to the side, the grass is still sticky and slows down you putt. It isn't hard to get rid of geese. Let a couple dogs off the lease and see if those geese stick around. they won't. Also, the A/C in the clubhouse was either busted or not turned on. So, don't expect to have a beer and cool off after your round.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Course was fun with a lot of options.
Decent course to be in town
It was my first time playing the course with my golfing partner, and was really enjoyable with the two we were paired with. Soomit and Dan, we loved playing with you guys.
Just an FYI, Mosaic is the company managing the course and Tom Ridge (one of the 5 star reviews here) is a VP for them...
Well maintained
Ok course. Needs upgrades. No parking, no practice range. Some greens need work. Signage is confusing-makes it hard to find you way. Fairway are close together and not well defined. No always sure which is the correct green. Still has some fun hole and you can see that it onxe was a good track.
