The course is short. I believe the back tees are listed at less than 6200 yards. (The distances from the tees are Up (Gold) 4722 yds, Middle (White) 5363 yds , Back (Blue) 6125 yds.
[THIS IS PLAYING 1-11 AND 1-7 as you can see by the attached scorecard.}
Currently of 11 holes, 4 are par 3s and only one par 5 that I can recall.
i played the white tees and the par threes played 150, 185, 195, 130, with at least one over a hazard with the pin on the left. So pretty challenging.
The par 4s were all easy to reach in 2. Some very nice holes with water protecting some the entire length of the hole and a couple holes where the approach is over water. For the golfer who hits it 220 or more off the tee expect to have less than 150 in on most or all of the par 4s.
The tees have a lot of crab grass and are not as grown in as the fairways and greens. (Management says the tees are Rye grass and the crabgrass has been treated, another overseed will begin before 8/5. )
The fairways were tight, meaning firm, which I like. Not overwatered. Some overwatering around the greens and unfortunately in some bunkers due to overspray. Some of the greens were in great shape. Most have good grass, are fast and very grainy. The greens have a soft, sandy subsurface. Some of the greens aren't as nice as the others and have significant scarring, but this will get better next season. The ball does turn on the greens. Most were pretty true.
There were numerous tee positions available on each hole, next time I will play it back on the blues. I can't wait to see the final product. May be as good as Wyncote when its done if they can stretch it out to 6500 or more that would be a bonus.
The course does not allow you to hit it off the grid, most protected by high grass, mounds, bunkers, water. But most all holes are wide enough off the tee that you don't get stressed.
I would like to hear from management as to the planned final distances. From where the tees were marked 7/29/2019 it looked like the course could be lengthened quite a bit. From the way you had to drive from hole to hole I am assuming the actual sequence of the holes will change.
After speaking to management on the phone today i found out that Jim Furyk had a hand in this project. There will be up to 7 tee boxes per hole of which 4-5 will be maintained at any time. Also the course will be able to be stretched to an astounding 7,700 yards.
