9/30/18 Tough summer heat left some approaches bare but War Admiral was fun and challenging. Staff was also very helpful. Ranger did his job and got 3 twosomes by a slow foursome at the turn. Well managed.

Played there yesterday. Gorgeous course. There are quite a few negative reviews on here about being reprimanded for pace of play. Your pace of play is set by the group in front of you not behind you. There is no reason why any foursome shouldn’t maintain a 4-4:10hr pace. The fact that you paid to play does NOT mean you can take as long as you like. Have some courtesy for other golfers and maintain pace.

Don Blanchard

Played War Admiral today and I did not have the negative experience with the staff policing pace of play today. Honestly, as someone that plays fast I would’ve appreciated the increase speed. I react accordingly to any staff that is disrespectful when I am paying for a service. The staff was courteous and helpful even with a tournament going on at the other course. The rate was reduced due to the condition; which was not even that bad. They are trying to grow some fairways so they were cart path only. The greens were slow but likely related to recent weather. The pro shop is second to none. Very nice selection. My only criticism would be that we didn’t see a beverage cart one time during the round.

Man O War course is a great, open track where you can spray it around a fair bit and still keep the ball in play. It has undergone a renovation this year and looks and plays better than ever. War Admiral is a fun, kick you in the teeth type course. Tons of challenging shots and tree lined areas that can punish you if you are off that day. Pick the right tees and it will be a blast.

Glenriddle Golf Club is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses, the well-rated and pleasantly testing Man O'War and War Admiral layouts. Like its sibling, the War Admiral course is a tree-lined parkland course that should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy.

course was dried out on 5/16/15 horrible. also beer cans were overflowing from some of the garbage cans. not worth the money.

This was one of the most beautiful golf courses I've ever golfed. My three friends and I played Man O'War. The links style course was very well maintained and gorgeous. I would play here anytime just for the magnificent view that the course provides. However, I had the WORST customer service I have ever encountered on a golf course. We were a 4 man group playing 18 holes. The cart provides us with our pace and we played according to that pace. We finished the round in just over 4 hours. However, multiples times throughout the round members of the staff would harass us into playing faster. They said we were playing too slowly. But, there was no other groups around. We were not a burden to any other groups. Toward the end of our round, it was starting to get darker and we were on the 18th hole, a worker told us we needed to pick it up and we were the slowest players ever. This unnecessarily rude comment really dampened my experience. He also flagrantly accused my group of leaving the course and going to the car and returning to the hole when we did no such thing. Even though this was one of the best courses, and most fair greens I've played the service wrecked my experience.

Chris Lehmann

Harassed by the ranger on the entire back 9 during which we were on the same hole as the foursome in front if us on nearly every hole. It's a very nice course that we will unfortunately remember for the ranger more than the course. A real disservice to their business.

Nice course , great staff, no chicken salad, lol

Played Man O War after it poured rain the day before... Thought the course was in great shape considering the rain. Fairways were wide and forgiving with great views. Thought the staff was really friendly and we felt very welcomed to the course. 8-12-17 We'll be back!

If you like running through a course and not enjoying yourself this is the place for you. Maybe if they spent more time cleaning the goose poop off the green and less time rushing you I might give it a better rating. The greens were in bad shape and like putting on concrete. The carts were nice I like the GPS in them and when it tells you how far behind pace you are is great. Not

I have been a member here for last few years. The membership price is very modest with two gorgeous courses, you also get to play lighthouse link and rum pointe. War admiral is my fav. The course is not overly long but it requires golf management shots and accuracy. So, if you can hit your ball really far but lack short game, you probably won't score well. Man o war is nice too, less challenging. Easier course to score. The staffs are always professional, courteous and friendly! My only negative encounter has been some other members... some of them lack golf courtesy... group of men hit ball 10 feet from me and didn't yell fore or apologized ( how Arrogant?). Had another bad experience with entitlement. Some people act like they belong to Augusta National...lol. Overall...staff members and courses are A+.

This is my 2nd year playing Man-O-War and it remains my favorite course in the area. Last year when we played it was empty, but today was crowded - and not one ranger harassed us at all. All of the course staff were quite friendly and all of the people playing played at a good pace. This is a course that really forces you to think about what club you pick. You can't just always go for the green - may times a shorter club leads to the smarter, easier approach.

Nous sommes aller jouer avec le groupe Gendron C'est un terrain exceptionnel et le personnel es très courtoie .

Great people, very polite Course is in very nice shape

Beautiful layout and tough course, but overshadowed by the very poor course conditions. Weeds and bare patches everywhere. Tee boxes chewed up. Grass around the greens sparse and weedy. For the price, this was not worth it!

Jeremy Ark

If you’re looking for a relaxing day playing golf with friends, this is NOT the place to go. The groups are spaced 10 mins apart so you won’t have time to look for a lost ball without the course nazis hassling you for being too slow. Beautiful course but snobby vibe. I’ll never play here again.

Brian Hether

i have to agree with some of the negative comments about how the staff treats people on the course. our story - we had a 4 some and the best golfer by far (single digit handicap) was a women. yet when a staff idiot came out and claimed we were going slow he purposely went to the lady and berrated her! completely false accusation. do something about the crotchety old (sexist) men you have working the course!

Tom Baldwin

Course, as usual, in great shape. Fair and honest.

Nancy Cullen

Best pro in the entire Delmarva area. Great links fun instead of the typical senior citizen flat boring course. You can really open up on this course and let them fly. History lives there too. and horses are an amazing component,

Tough course, plays long and shot placement is key. Staff very friendly

I have played Man O War once and War Admiral twice. War Admiral is a beast. I have played several OC courses (Lighthouse, Rum Pointe, Bayside...) and this one is probably the hardest. If you are taking a golf trip with a group of guys and several are high handicappers, don't play War Admiral. It's a beautiful course, but your lesser players will be miserable. The forced carries on 9 and 18 come immediately to mind. They are impossible holes for short hitters. Man O' War on the other hand was great for golfers of all levels. It wasn't as pretty as War Admiral, but a fun different layout than you will find anywhere. Like some other reviewers have said, you can't just hit it as far as you can. You have to be mindful of carefully placed bunkers.

Joseph Bevilacqua

The course was absolutely amazing, and there were interesting holes that developed a beautiful feature for the course like any other. I loves how they brought in the horse theme with the gates and the horseshoe markers. The downside unfortunately is that the staff was absolutely rude to me and my friends. We were 7 minutes off pace, and they began yelling at how slow we were playing and that we had to speed up even though there was no one behind us. They even accused us of stopping between the front and back to go to our car to slow up pace. I've never see meaner people on a game That's built on honor and trust.

Andrew Dennis

Played Man O War on 4-2-16 greens were recently aerated and not good, understand the need to punch greens but at $79 this was a rip off.

I played Man of War and I thought It was a beautiful golf course, I would definitely return to play and I would recommend the course to a friend. However I only rated this with 2 stars because of how awful I thought the management was. I work at a PGA golf course and I was disgusted by the way me and my friends were treated. Multiple times a worker came up to us and told us how slow we were playing but in reality we actually playing ahead of the expected pace. Also when we were on the 18th hole no only were we yelled out for moving slow, which we weren't, but we were also accused by a worker for stuff we did it, and not headed off. Coming from a golf club were we put the golfers and members first, I was disgusted by the way we were treated.
