The Ballroom at Deerfield Country Club was the venue for our wedding reception on Nov 22, 2013. Prior to this event, we worked with their staff who were always gracious, considerate, and helped us with our budget and our desires for the evening event. The staff was flexible in letting my relatives decorate and bring some items over the week of the reception. The event itself was beautiful - the staff was polite, the food was delicious and sound, lightning and the smaller details were all taken care of with excellence. We appreciated the care of Deerfield and the attention they all gave to our special day. We will look forward to returning to celebrate other occasions there. As the bride, I would definitely recommend Deerfield as a place to hold your wedding reception. It is lovely, and they are organized so you can be sure that your event will be like you want desire. They will work with your interests and desires and also help provide some of their own ideas when you get stuck! They help work within the time frame and budget and treat you with respect. We also did our "first look" pictures on the grounds at Deerfield prior to an evening wedding and were so appreciative of Deerfield letting us use their grounds for this too. So happy to have memories at this venue. Thank you Deerfield!

For the second year in a row, we took my father to Deerfield for the father’s day brunch. We absolutely LOVE the food here. There are endless buffets of everything from smoked salmon, to lamb, to breakfast potatoes, to steak, to fruit, to Belgian waffles (and much much more). They have all you could ever want to eat and more. The highlight though will always be the millionaire bacon. We will most likely be back from father’s day brunch next year!!

Our wedding day was absolutely the best day of my life and it couldn't have gone smoother without the expertise of the staff at Deerfield. Deerfield was the PERFECT place for our wedding reception & our guests still talk about how beautiful our wedding was. The ambiance for our evening wedding was absolutely magical. The grounds were perfect for pictures and the staff catered to us throughout the entire day & evening. The staff was so professional and helpful throughout the entire process & we did not want for anything. Emily was fantastic with her planning and always made herself readily available for any questions or concerns we had. From the planning, to the day of our wedding, Deerfield's staff made the entire process so memorable. David & the rest of the entire staff was excellent & executed the night precisely. They really went above and beyond to make me, my husband and our guests feel so welcomed and special. I really can not say enough about Deerfield. It is one of the best places to have your wedding reception in Delaware. From the breathtaking views the venue has to offer to the delicious food & drinks & the superb hospitality, you can not go wrong with choosing Deerfield. We highly recommend it! We have had our prom here for the last two years and I have been golfing here once. The land is beautiful and the banquet hall is very elegant...perfect for prom. The food has never been very good. I had an undercooked steak and a chicken parm that was dried out. But otherwise, it is a great place to get pictures and the golf course is in great condition.

We recently had our wedding reception at Deerfield. The entire experience was excellent. Angela, David, Steve and the entire staff at Deerfield went above and beyond to make sure every thing went smoothly on the big day. The cocktail hour, patio and ballroom looked beautiful. Their attention to detail, guests, and bridal party was outstanding. We were extremely pleased with the way the meals were served. There was enough staff to serve over 280 meals at one time. Guests complimented on the service and delicious food all night. The beautifully landscaped golf course and fountain made for great pictures for the bridal party and guests. Deerfield was the perfect venue for us and it made for a perfect wedding reception!

Challenging course that rarely provides a flat lie. Good layout and well maintained. No real water hazards..challenge is in the elevation changes. Very nice banquet facilities and bar/restaurant area. The driving range is the only significant short coming...it is poorly situated on the property. Highly recomended.

Deerfield Golf Club has a beautiful setting for golfing and events. Weddings are very common at 1-2 per weekend throughout the summer. They also host social events. The UofD Courtyard by Marriott gives free shuttle service to Deerfield when requested in advance. Only for the Courtyard guests. They also give special group rate discounts.

Ok but not worth the money for every banquet I've been to. Food is pathetic for the money but enjoyable and the dance floor is tiny. Try the Waterfall in Claymont.

Friendly and helpful staff but the course was not in any way worth the $55 green fee. Lots of crab grass, brown or dead spots. Some of the greens were in extremely poor condition and the rest were just “Ok”. I probably would not go back.

A little short but challenging with the narrow fairways and elevation changes. Pro shop put us in at the first reduced rate tee time, and then double checked when we made the turn to make sure we weren't getting slowed down by the foursome in front of us. And then a beautiful day to boot!

Played here multiple times this year. Wonderful course, great conditions each time. Two major drawbacks though. Website states they have someone making sure pace of play is maintained by checking progress of groups. Never once did this occur and each time we were waiting for slow twosomes and threesomes. Still able to finish a round in 4-4.5 hours but definitely affects your ability to get in a groove. Secondly, the last time I played I had a10 tee time. Got there early so I could hit range balls to warm up. At 940, starter yelled at me from down range telling me I was late and holding up tons of groups. Two holes in and I was stalled by a twosome that refused to allow my partner and I to play through. Starter issue may have been an isolated incidence but made for disappointing last outing. Overall great course but slow play will have you frustrated if you are trying to play <4.5 hours.

Beautiful course. We were the last 4 to go out before a league on a Monday at about 240 for $37. We saw a handful of golfers the rest of the day. It was insanely hot and muggy but the place was gorgeous. Well kept and fun but challenging design. The value is tremendous at that time. Sadly we got rained out just as we pulled up to 15. We hung out inside the bar and had some great drinks and food in there as well. Staff was great too. The gentleman running the pro shop and the bartender that worked on 7/17/17 were absolutely awesome and took great care of us!

I can't really say much about Deerfield's golf course and golfing amenities as I was only there for a wedding and reception. What we saw of the facilities, they looked fairly nice. After the wedding we were in a room there drinks and snacks we're being served. The staff was helpful explaining what was being served. They were attentive and would bring back more of the snacks your liked. Okay, I'm calling them snacks but Deerfield would probably prefer I call them hors d'oeuvres! Overall, or experience was nice.

Wonderful food and lots of great ambience! We hadn't eaten there in awhile and it was even better than we remembered! Our server was just attentive enough...asking if we needed another drink and came to clear our plates quickly. Didn't have a problem with dishes left on the table or lacking service. Didn't really go after the breakfast stuff, but that sure did look delicious. We went straight to the seafood table and had some salmon and ahi tuna. They have all the fixings for every dish you want. They have a donut wall which looked awesome and they had shrimp and grits (one of my personal faves). We had a couple of Bloody Mary's, which were yummy and perked up our palates for the meal to come. And the dessert table was amazing...ice cream from Woodside Creamery and so many lovely looking cakes. They also had a person making dessert waffles to go with the ice cream. They have so many stations that you should take a little stroll to get the feel for how you are going to attack the food. If you haven't been there, you should treat yourself to the most awesome brunch!! Your stomach will thank you!!!! And don't forget to get a piece or two of the Millionaire Bacon.....words cannot adequately describe this meat!!!!! YUM!!!

Deerfield hosted our annual Drives for Education golf outing for the first time this year, 2018 (Goldey-Beacom College) and it was a tremendous success! Everything from the initial planning stages to the meticulous coordination on the day of the event was more than we could have hoped for, and dinner was delicious as well. A special thanks to Jeff Robinson and Brianna Boyens in the Sales Department, both of whom made the entire process seamless and were always so easy to get a hold of and to answer questions and provide guidance throughout the entire planning process! My husband and I recently got married and had our reception at Deerfield Golf and Tennis Club. We were thrilled how every aspect of our wedding day went! From planning with Emily starting in February to day of coordination with David, our day was even better than we could have imagined. They went out of their way to be accommodating to us and it showed in everyone's reactions to our wedding. Leading up to the wedding they were helpful in scheduling times for us to have our photographers in and to come look at the venue when planning floral arrangements. The food was fantastic. We got not a single complaint, which lets face it, food is the most important part of the experience! Many people have said "as far as wedding food goes this place had the best". I could not believe how smoothly everything went there. They handled everything. David and Anne gave extra attention to us, the bridal party and the parents' tables to make sure we had a chance to enjoy everything. Nothing at all was missed! If you are deciding on your event venue look no further!

Had Easter brunch at Deerfield today, our second brunch visit to the country club. The amount of food served is almost overwhelming- omlette station, carving station, raw bar, fruit/breakfast breads table, a huge dessert table, kids' table, plus a large table of breakfast staples and a table of lovely lunch foods. We had help from two attentive members of the wait staff, and were visited by a manager double checking all was ok. The only hiccup was in getting coffee, but it was more than made up for by the help the staff provided in getting me an omlette I could eat safely (I'm allergic to shellfish. And we did get the coffee-some of the best in the area, imho). Holiday brunches are pricey, but it was worth every penny. Plus, it's now 5+PM and neither my husband nor myself is even contemplating eating again!

From the beginning, Angela was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the intricate details of planning a special occasion to ensure a lovely affair. Fast forward....A few days before the big day the couple and I met with the Operations manager, David. We explained in detail their vision for their wedding day. David, Mike, Anne, and the entire staff were exceptional. They thought of everything and didn't miss a beat. They were attentive to our needs, personable and a pleasure to be around. We hosted our company employee and family dinner at Deerfield this year. The team including sales manager Claire made sure all the details were planned from the cocktail hour to the dinner itself. When our head count shifted up and down she was helpful to make suggestions to things we could add or remove to keep the event on budget. The day of the event the operations manager and team made sure everything was set up correctly. Our staff and friends had a great time and everyone enjoyed the food. Came here for a wedding reception. The reception ballroom was beautiful. What I was most impressed with was the staff. They were attentive and wanted to serve the guests to the highest quality possible. The only issue was the delivery of the entrees. There was a confirmation of each guests selection of entree but there were mix ups in delivery with many guests. They were willing to figure things out quickly. I even noticed a guest who didn’t enjoy the vegetarian option and the brought out a secondary option. Well done!

We recently had our wedding reception at Deerfield and were so incredibly happy with everything. Angela, Anne and Michael made our day amazing and made sure that everyone was where they needed to be (and as a bride on the big day, you really need this because your brain is all over the place.) From the moment we signed our contract I knew we were in good hands. The reception room was stunning. Glass surrounds the room on 3 sides and at night, it’s breathtaking. Deerfield helped us to create our dream wedding and I would recommend them to any bride. Not only was the organization incredible but the staff was so nice to everyone. Every single person was so helpful to our guests and the FOOD, oh my goodness, the food. It was incredible. I still have guests talking about the appetizers and their meal. We opted for a cheesecake martini bar for dessert, and it was a huge hit! If you are looking for a venue for your big day, stop, because this is it. They truly are amazing at what they do, and will put any bride’s mind at ease.

Buffet-Sunday eating was good experience. Minimal waiting for party of 17 ppl; food included breakfast, lunch, dinner & dessert items. The food items that were good (waffles, crab legs, veg stir fry) were really good. Some other food items were okay (srambled eggs, crab cakes, lamb, shrimp).
