We recently stayed here for a week. Condo was clean and wonderful. My only complaint would be that every 45 minutes the kids have to exit the pool for "adult swim". This was awful as it was 95-112 degrees with the heat index when we were there. Having the kids sit out is so unnecessary. Hopefully, that policy will change one day.

Don't know about the golfing but the clubhouse is open to the public and serves great food! Daily specials, happy hour, live entertainment (certain nights)...they have it all!

Really nice course with three separate 9 hole courses to play in various ways. The course layout is well done. We played the black bear/grizzly combo and had a good time. You can score well on this course. Only issue is it was a little chopped up on certain fairways and tee boxes. Other than that I'd be back if in the area.

Played here last year in July. I think the layout of the clubhouse and golf course is a bit off. Upon arrival you feel like you are pulling into a residential shopping area, instead of a golf course. You also don't get great views of the course from the clubhouse. Other than that the clubhouse and staff were great on my visit. Overall the course was in very good shape, considering the time of year. July can be tough on turf in the Mid Atlantic. Some of the bunkers were in need of repair, most likely due to cheap construction and not poor maintenance. The course was fun to play, if a bit boring. I'm not a huge fan of golf in residential areas. Overall it was a good day. Solid golf on Delmarva.

Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club is home to a well-rated and pleasantly testing 27-hole golf course that comprises the Grizzly, Kodiak and Black Bear nines. This inland links-style layout should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. One to include on your play list if you are in the area.

I have stayed at Bear Trap for 3 of the 4 years that I've been going to Deleware for vacation. In no point in time have I ever had any issues with the place but this time it was different. As I arrived on the first day the bathroom wasn't cleaned and the toliet was clogged with waste. We had to have a maintenance worker unclog the toilet. When finished he rinsed the dirty snake in the tub and dripped it all over the floor and dumped bleach of all things in the toilet and tub. Then the workers who pick up the old dirty linens didn't arrive until way later and when we had notified the staffing on the bathroom not being cleaned they said they'd have someone clean it up. When we returned later the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. So we personally went to the store bought cleaning supplies and cleaned it ourselves. I wasn't impressed at all with any of these workers. I'm not mad at Bear Trap and I will return but they need to emphasize cleanliness better and make sure the houses are being cleaned throughly and properly.

Played Black Bear/Grizzly on May 26. The course was in good shape - rough is not terrible to get out of and the greens were not too fast and not too slow. Staff are very friendly. Play was a little slow, but we were a twosome so we expected to wait. Good snack stand on the turn.

Very nice well maintained courses. Lots of upgrades recently that really improve the course and the restaurant. Awesome outdoor spaces for relaxing, eating, and drinking.

Moderately challenging tract that only penalizes you if you do really stupid things. Give the Blue-Gold tee combo a try. Like all Troon courses it's well-run with no drama. (When were traveling, we look for are nearby Troon courses.)

Played in Mid September, course was in horrible shape and did not see any grouds crew working on course. Very dissapointed. The only positive was the staff, all very nice and courteous, they did there best, but i could tell they were also very dissapointed.

Tried the Osso Bucco from the regular menu. It noted a pork shank rather than the traditional veal shank. $25.00. OK, so I tried it. Freaking horrible. It was a nice shank on a slight bed of what may have been mashed potatoes, all swimming in bbq sauce. BBQ SAUCE? The only thing right was the company I came with and the martini I drank.

We stayed in a townhome rental for our beach week. When we arrived, the floors were pretty dirty, clearly they had attempted to spot clean instead of simply mopping the kitchen/living room area. We unloaded and asked them to mop again (we have a couple crawling infants in our family) while we walked over to the club restaurant. It now appears an expensive pair of SUNGLASSES TOOK A WALK off the kitchen counter while we were out. We looked through everything in every possible location several times that week, and again while packing up to leave and one final time when unloading at home. A month later, we are pretty sure we know what happened. The community pool was okay, but they CHARGED US $40/HEAD (even for the kids) for a weekly pass, which was not even remotely worth it. The last night, we tried to return to the club restaurant because our meal there the first night was the one redeeming quality of our stay. The hostess was EXTREMELY RUDE and dismissive, saying she could not accommodate our party of 10 for 2+ hours, and FLAT OUT REFUSED to instead put us down for two parties of 5. Forget this place, don't even consider it.

I love this course. The fairways are nice and wide for the most part and the grass was in great condition. The only thing that would have been better would be a natural grass driving range. I love the layout though. Nice sand and just enough hazards to keep the game interesting without making it overly difficult for the average golfer. Very fun course.

This club is too close to my place in Bethany to pass on but twice last year Aug and Oct there was no sand in the traps and the refreshment cart was nowhere to be found. For the price I expect better as did the 11 golfing buddies I hosted. There are lots of golf courses in the area now, play it and compare. Staff, club house all great. I truly hope my two recent on course experiences were an anomaly. R

They told us one 9 to start on, then the starter let his members ahead. Put us behind a foursone that never golfed. Course was in pretty good shape. 3 hour 9 stinks!!!!

We rented a condo and eating at this location was an easy call. We had a lunch and a dinner. The only bad call was the crab cake. I should have known we weren't in MD and I shouldn't order it.. but dammit I did and it was not up to the MD standard! We let them know. Everything else was fine and the folks working were all nice. No dishes stand out just good food near where your staying and at the turn.

My low rating is based on how I was treated vs. wet, spongy course itself. Called twice - spoke to two people. Specifically asked if it was cart path only, both people said No - carts were allowed. Only after I paid, they told me it was cart path only. We also played late in the afternoon, hardly anyone else on the course but they managed to pair us up with the only people on the entire course - no one in the front, no one in the back..4 people on empty course can be slower than two sets of two people. We paid for 18 but only played 9. Mosquitos were unbearable. I would give zero stars if I could.

Absolutely my favorite place to be. Customer service is always excellent. I am a regular and visit as often as I can. Neighborhood is well kept. A variety of styles to rent based on occupancy. Neighbors are always friendly. Never too crowded even during the peak season. Convenient to beach, shops and plenty of restaurants. A short drive to either outlets or other beaches besides Bethany beach. No sales tax on purchases. Restaurant on-site. Located on a golfing facility with beautiful landscaping. Indoor pool is warmed during colder season. Nice gym facility. I can go on and on but I think you get the idea. If you like peace and quiet or a short local staycation, this place is ideal

My biggest concern with our dinner here was: it was our server's first day & she was completely incompetent. She left out drinks on the bar for 20 minutes even after we asked for them. My dinner was not the one that I ordered but was the special that evening. I got the queen size prime rib with mashed potatoes & it was delicious. My daughter got the salmon & she was very pleased. The brownie sundae was terrific. The server recommended a grapefruit crush & that was a big hit. In summary the food was very good & reasonably priced because it was not the body season yet but the server needs to get some more practice before she goes it alone. Oh, & there was a live band. Very fun & not too loud.

A delightful golfing experience. I played there on August 28th. I played Kodiak and Black Bear. The course is in immaculate condition. The holes were well defined and good shots were rewarded and bad ones were punished, the way golf should be. The staff were first rate and the practice facility top notch. For anyone visiting the Bethany Beach area, highly recommend.

Bear Trap – The Den – has a fresh modernized look and feel at the combo bar and restaurant for an upbeat spot that servers both the golfers and now days more locals. I am excited to see the new head chef next time and new plus ups to the menu. Last week in the -5 degree wind chill weather at the beach, The Den was fully open - now days thru the week for lunch and dinner all week long. Daily specials are greats in the deal off-season. On Sunday we tried the prime rib sliders – awesome for $8 with real prime rib shaved meat. Wine selections are simple and good per wife. All the key football games were on and it was a great relaxing time spent there. We ate at the bar on Monday and had a nice conversation with John, bar manger over the cream of crab soup – real white lump crab meat at $7 and a turkey club since we were pressed for time. The variety of the daily specials except Saturday, great service and quality food keeps us coming back on each trip.

Played the course on 9/16/19 with 2 friends. We come down every year. Greens were in good shape, but many patrons apparently do not repair their dings. We observed sections on the fareways where you could observe poor or diseased grasses and browned out areas, these need to get addressed by staff.

The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. The check-in guys were great, the starter was friendly and the bag boys were quick to help. Course layout is challenging but fair. Greens were in good shape. Bunkers had good sand but also had weeds and need some work. Fairways also need some work as they were pretty beaten up but playable.

It's a three nine hole course, which helps in keeping it moving. Close proximity to everything. More of a links style course. Usually in great condition. Nice staff members. Down fall is it's very expensive in the summer if your not a member.

Flavors were good presentation and service could use some work. Had to ask for obviously filthy outside table to be wiped. Server failed to bring small plates with pizza and appetizers. I wouldn't normally post a negative review but want them to have the chance for improvement. Pot stickers may have been better to have been fried the noodle not having sauce on top got tough and split.

Great course, great play, fun times. 3 9 hole courses for a short round or a long show down with the guys. Plenty of water and sand traps to offer a challenge. I played on a busy afternoon and I still played pretty quick. I would recommend checking out this course if you have the chance.

Decent location for Bethany Beach. We rented a unit for a long weekend, which was just fine. However, the rental didn't mention that we had to pay an additional $40 per person (!!!) to use the pool, tennis courts, event the darn playground.... So, be sure to clarify that if renting.

For $135 dollars I expect everything but this course was lacking a lot. No gps on the carts. On Black Bear there were only 2 water stations on a 95 degree, heavy humidity day. My biggest complaint was they have a huge driving range but told us you could only hit off the grass on the weekends. We were forced to hit off matts. All in all the course is in good shape and plays well. Kodiak is very narrow. If I'm paying that much id rather play Baywood or Bayside. Probably never play Bear Trap again.

Overall it was a good experience. The course is very well maintained, despite the fact it rained 2-3 inches in the prior 48 hours, so there was nothing that could be done about the bunkers being filled with water. This course is great for people who don't the hit the ball far off the tees. Greens, fairways and teeboxes were excellent. The course is solid, not spectacular, average value considering all the courses in the area.
