Echoing Sean Sullivan's comments on POOR POOR customer service, there was a 'lack of communication' at the end of out tournament which resulted in necessitating a 'playoff hole' which turned into two playoff holes and a rather militant attitude from the staff hell-bent on removing us from the course, it was totally bizarre.

Great course with some interesting holes. Conditions of course is very nice, greens role true but not too fast. If you play from the tips the look is very different. In and out of club the people couldn't be nicer or more down to earth.

The back 9 is glorious. Complete with a rollercoaster-like cart path bridge, lush greens, beautiful fairways, an island green surrounded by water, completely quiet and woodsy. Here's why I didn't give it more stars; the front 9. It needs a lot of work. Even the greens were a little off. Tbh I was extremely disappointed and felt like the $35 I paid wasn't worth it after the front 9 but the back 9 more than made up for it. It is one of the most beautiful back 9's in the state if not the most.

I've decided to give this course one star because an employee decided to "respond" to a bad review by giving his own 5 star review to apparently try to "offset" bad reviews? Bad business if you ask me. If you think you're being unfairly judged by the public, take it up with a google, don't fudge the numbers. Arthur Anderson has a white paper you might want to read about the consequences of such actions. If you remove the "insider ratings" scandal, I'll remove my one star rating.

Only played the back nine while coming through the area. Great layout. Greens held and rolled well for being airated. The backfilled with sand. Many par fours make you hit different clubs off the tee. Fun joint. Island green very nice.

Don't let the short yardage fool you, challenging course with elements of many type, target golf, links style etc. Great layout with a few quirky holes, but fair overall. All three par fives offer good opportunities to get home in two with the right club selection. Greens are large and undulating, making avoiding three putting quite challenging.

We were there for a funeral. It is a clubhouse for the golf course. They have a nice little pub where you can order apps or full dinners. You do get good portions. They have seating available outside as well as rooms for larger groups.

57 to 60 bucks on a sunday to sit and wait for 5 hour plus rounds is a bad proposition. Over booked tee times. Sitting 2 plus groups behind a hole really makes for a bad day of golf. Conditions arent great granted it's been wet but I'm in for 25 bucks next time or I'll drive to hunters for the 60 dollar club. Obnoxious.

It was better maintained than my previous visit. Bunkers with fresh dry sand and challenging course design, makes it a fun place to play. Many Greens are extra fast, making your putting at the mercy of luck.

*** Based on the expected response from the course Manager Richard Cardoza I must add that for you to say what we are explaining is not true is very insulting! Especially given the fact that you were not even present when it occurred! Your course Leadership needs to take ownership of this unfortunate incident and apologize to all of us! We had a golf tournament there yesterday, we have the same tournament twice a year at many different courses and they are always very accommodating and appreciative of all the business they are getting, until yesterday at Traditions at Wallingford. As everyone walked up to check in they asked us all what was in our bags and told us we were not allowed to bring our own alcohol out, that was ok but not usually something we have been greeted with. During the course of our game the beverage cart came around a total of 1 time, so then they wonder why people want to bring their own out…. When we finished hole 18 there was a tie between 2 teams, we decided it would be a good idea to play hole 1 over as a tie breaker, as long as it was open. One of our carts drove to the club house and told the starter the situation and he said fine. So we played hole 1 over with no one waiting behind us and ended the hole still in a tie, we then decided to play hole 2 and if we were tie after that we would have a putt off and not go any further. Within 30 seconds of us getting to the tee one of the workers rode up and was infuriated yelling we need to get off the course right now!! He said the owner was very mad!! We explained the situation, even offered more money to finish up and told him this was the end no matter what, he said ok and pulled away. All of us were then at the green ready to finish the game with nobody waiting behind us and here comes the cart again with the same worker and the owner… She gets out of the cart yelling hysterically at us that we need to leave now!! We asked if we could finish our putts and even pay more if needed, her response was yelling NO you are not putting, take your S*** and get off the course, she even took the keys out of our carts wanting us to walk back!!! This rant went on and on it was ridiculous!! Her approach to us was so non customer centric and crazy, she seemed to want a confrontation. We were doing nothing wrong, just trying to have a clear tournament winner, again nobody waiting behind us, we offered to pay a difference, I just do not get it! Unfortunately I will never play there again and I know many people who golf there and will share this story with them…. This is an example of horrible customer service at its best!

I've been playing this track for years and it remains one of my favorites in CT. It is just a fun course to play with some quirky holes and the island 12th is always fun. Every time I've played there the place has been in really good shape. Afterwards the food served on the patio is delicious and occasionally the bar cart will have something interesting.

Five Stars. There is zero reason for this course to have 1 star under any circumstances--- its a quality course and venue. As a longtime Wallingford resident, I know The Tradition used to be Pilgrim's Harbour years ago, and it was transformed into a very well maintained and designed 18 hole course. The island Par 3 hole is a gem, challenging, and unique to find in all of New England or Tri-State area. The greens are well manicured and roll soft like butter. The staff is super-friendly. Also, I usually attend their Easter brunch and have been to other hosted functions-- they do a fine job for catered events. Great place to play a round, hit the range, practice putts, grab a bite/drink, or host an event. Enjoy!

This is a public golf course built through a series of homes and condos. The course is in good shape and has very challenging greens. The front 9 and back 9 has distinctly different character. The course is very playable for all skill levels and can be stretched out for the long hitters/highly skilled players. The 10th, 11th and 12th are fairly quirky but enjoyable if you are playing well. The 12th is a pure carry island green from a series of elevated tees. Under new management in the last few years. Give the course a try.

Tradition is a staple among our choices of where to play on the weekend. The hole placement can be very challenging. The course gives a little for everyone. Only complaint is the people who loop from hole 14 back to 11. It always slows play not to mention aggravating. Overall....good golf.

I would like to provide some feedback on my customer service experience at Tradition. I have played at this course for several years now and want to be very clear I will no longer play there again and urge anyone I know to no longer play here or give them business. I do not recall the women's name because I was astonished by her unprofessionaliam and unwillingness to let a customer speak but she is unprofessional and should be embarrassed by how she acted considering she made it a point to let us know that she was in charge. Someone needs a class in customer service or business educate. You can be certain that we will continue to communicate the truth about this awful customer service experience so it gets out to the public. They will continue to get negative reviews until she apologizes on some type of public forum for how she treated a group of paying customer. Never underestimate word of mouth as it can make or break a business and from the looks of it yesterday this course can not afford bad press.

Pretty good golf course for the money. Look for specials as there's tons out there. Layout is pretty nice, offering some long holes that reward distance, and some shot makers holes. Great value for the money!

Was repeatedly harassed by course staff during the game mid-stroke over whether our drinks were purchased on location even after showing receipt. When we returned to the clubhouse there was some angry woman who I assume was in-charge stalking around screaming at her employees in full view of customers. Not going to return to this course again and will be informing family and friends of the abhorrent atmosphere here. Came for a relaxing day of golf, left disgusted and irritated.

Good condition but no monitoring of slow play. They don't require a cart, but it is totally unwalkable. 15 minutes treks between some holes. Back nine is a real estate course with all the negatives that implies. Back nine greens had recently been aerated but there was no warning from the pro shop (or any warning about the distance and uphill hike between holes on the back nine.) Could have been a nice day, but left totally pissed off.

Richard Cardoza - This had nothing to do with personal coolers. Let's stay on topic please. We all purchased beverages from the bar on site. After our tournament was over, we requested to play a playoff hole to break a tie breaker which was approved. We were approached by a member of the staff as we tied again and he approved us playing on. We offered to pay for 9 holes to make sure everything would be ok. We were told it was ok to keep playing. A few minutes later the director of operations, Bernadette came over to us demanding we leave the course. Calling us inappropriate names and taking the keys out of the cart. We remained calm and picked up our balls and left. She was totally out of line. An apology is 100% warranted and I really hope you guys address this.
