Always a good outing. Friendly staff, well maintained and nice grill.

This place needs to figure out what it wants to be. Do you want to be a nice municipal course or a top tier public course? The greens and fairways are some of the best in the area. However, the bunkers look like they stole dirt from a softball field. The maintenance crew must not own a line trimmer, fly mower, edger, or full size sprayer because simple trimming and edging would add immense value to the course. Hole after hole seems unfinished and partially neglected. The driving range is a little annoying in that you have to pay for balls on weekend mornings. This leads to most people jamming up the first tee huddled around an odd putting green. This course has immense potentially to be a premier course. The superintendent needs to get his act together . If he does that watch this course climb up the ladder of public golf course rankings . Would play twilight again in a heartbeat . Would take a lot to pay $90 again for a five hour round weekend mornings.

Can't get much better for a course that is open to the public! I've played here 2x and plan on playing many more!

Course is a decent layout. But bunkers are not well maintained and greens extremely inconsistent. Most troubling is the pace of play. Minimum of 5 hours to play this course. Waited on every single tee box. No ranger until 8th hole - did nothing to improve experience.

Kenny Parciasepe

Great challenging course !

Ken Roche

Nicely kept challenging course

ricky sanford

Great course, needs a ranger to avoid super slow play.

Victor Toal

Challenging but fair.

Scott Brabant

6 hour round due to slow play. no one out on course to speed up play. starter was not pleasant. bunkers were damaged by rain and not maintained properly. greens get a lot of play and players do not repair ball marks of fill divots.

Alisher Nurullaev

Great course. .slightly expensive but worth it

The staff is very good. The course was a little rough.

Very nice course we'll maintained excellent grill

Played a round today, first time playing the course. The course is beautifully designed but it needs some serious time, love and care on just about every bunker on the course. Every time myself, or my partner would hit into a bunker we would have to remove the ball and play from the rough because it was unplayable. Hard packed, rocky sand and puddles of water in most bunkers, it was highly disappointing. I will come back and play the course again once the bunkers are redone, until then, it is not a fair test of skill.

This used to be a great course. The fairways and greens are good, but the bunkers absolutely suck. No other way of putting it. See attached pictures. It appears that the owners and management has given up on this place. Carts often don't make a full round. The batteries are shot. The rain covers don't stay up and the steering sucks on many. Gas carts have been brought in to replace the electric one's that are out of service. They don't have windshields or rain covers for the bags. Great for fall weather. Nothing like a brisk breeze beating you down on a cool October morning. They have too many tournaments on the weekend. Most I've done are always during the week. That kills prime time golf. There used to a great ranger and starter crew that kept things moving when it was busy. All the good ones were let go. Good luck finding one now. Finally, it appears to me, that the owners and management do not give the Greens keeping crew the financial support they should have. Getting back to my opening statement, fix the bunkers. If you like hitting through a cement like bunker with pea sized rocks, this is the place for you. The worst one is 16. The front half of 16 green is ruined due to peble damage. Well, enough of this. For the rates they charge, look elsewhere. PS: I played one day last week. A shotgun start due to weather. No one sent us out. People just headed out on their own. No rangers and water on course. We also had to have our cart replaced twice due to failed batteries.

The layout of the course was nice; however, the course is very worn and in need of some serious TLC. As we warmed up on the putting green the starter literally drove by and told us to start ourselves whenever because he was leaving and wanted to "go home." The pace of play was painfully slow and it took us (twosome) 5 1/2 hours to finish. There are many nice courses in the area and I don't think I'll be back anytime soon, unfortunately.

Rude members tear up the course and dont bother fixing the divots not worth the price rather pay highland greens in prospect

While there is a lot to like about Oxford Greens, it gets mixed reviews. First, the good: most holes have nice privacy due to the overall size of the property. The greens are large, fast, undulating, and difficult, but very playable. The overall grass conditions were very good. They have electric carts which are always nice to have (quiet, less fumes), The bad: Our foursome teed off at 12:30pm on a Sunday, and finished at 6:30pm!! The length of the round, alone, is a pretty strong negative. At each of the par 3's, there were 2 or 3 groups waiting to tee off. It could be that too many high handicappers are playing from back tees. Whatever the case, it appears that management isn't enforcing anything (no rangers).Given the penal nature of the course, I would say black AND blue tees at Oxford are too difficult for anyone with a 10 handicap or higher. I have a 9.4 index, and we played the white tees. I brought a nasty hook to the property and paid big-time, shooting a 93. Back to the course, one test of a really great golf course is how memorable the course and routing are. Oxford doesn't give the golfer enough different looks in my opinion. There is a repetition of side hill, left to right holes, with lateral hazards on the left, that makes a lot of the course a blur. I would need to play a minimum of five rounds there to get from the 1st tee to the 18th green in my mind.

Not an easy course at all. 3rd hole is a monster.

Simple. My buddy and I fly the American flag on our cart every time we golf. On the first tee box they demanded we take it down.

Best place to play golf

Josh Smith

One of the best courses in the state. Great Greens and always a challenge!

Paul Garcia

Nice course.

Michael Giordano

Great course, will be playing tomorrow and will update accordingly. I heard they got new carts which addresses other comment's complaints. Course is always in great shape. Fairways are great and greens are always really good. Every hole is unique which is what I love about the course.

Cookie Monster

Great course, well maintained.

Ron Poehailos

There was over an hour wait to tee off at 9:15 Saturday morning due to course management decisions and we paid for 18. We were only able to fit in 9 holes because of the delay and we were not reimbursed for the full 50%. Petty decision on management makes me think twice about coming back.

Robert Nemergut

Overrated, traps full of rocks.

I have been a member for 2 years and it is a great experience. Starters are nice and the range is a great place to get ready before your round. The clubhouse and restaurant are great places to gather before and after your round. The rates are reasonable and the conditions are normally quite satisfying. Come and play here. Love it!

Adam Schankman

I am flabbergasted at all the negative recent reviews. Snobs out here I guess. For a public track, you can't get much better honestly. Oxford Greens truly is the gem of Connecticut. I can't say that I've ever played a golf course where ZERO holes are even remotely next to each other. It's a masterpiece of a course design. While long, everybody always sattles up and rides (it may be required) so pace of play is ideal enough for you to tee off Sunday morning and still be home in time to watch Redzone. They also features the longest par 5 in CT (unverified source) which is a spectacular experience. Driver off the deck anyone? Have fun bros.

David Valentine

Three or four years ago the course was awesome. Now it seems that no one's really taking care of it. The bunkers which they say they're replacing we're hard as rocks. The grass was cut but there were clumps of grass everywhere. T boxes were all torn up.

Stephen Hanz

Started off as a great round with family, but then the ranger told us to hurry up but no group was pushing us a long, however we catch a group members that we were on the whole day,l. So we had to rush our game to then sit at the last hole for 10 minutes.

Gary Morris

The worst conditioned course I've played this year. Usually in really good shape, but it looked like they where not maintaining it. A real let down, and at full price.

David Peng

Great public course. Fun to play.

Used to enjoy taking the ride down to Oxford from Hartford, never again. For $79, it should be an excellent experience and it wasn't at all. Tee boxes are absolutely shredded and the fairways are totally burnt out and are basically just dirt. They wouldn't let my buddy and I fly our American flag on our cart. Guy in clubhouse was rude and forgot to give us both tee off receipts. They let groups off too close together so you have groups up your a$$ all day. Guy in group behind us told us to hurry up. There was nowhere to go. Ranger kept bothering us. Don't go here. Save your money or go to Richter Park. Or in Hartford area go to Wintonbury.

Sal DeFini

Living on its past glory. Great course when it opened 12 yrs or so ago. Now it's a basic muni. You can tell when a scramble outing has been through, 4 divots one next to the other and none repaired. 90 % of the bunkers are unplayable, either filled with rocks or water. And all this for $56.

Bob Tosetti Jr

Pablo Vela

Fun golf course staff is great. They are building too many houses around it killing the nature views houses way too close to course.

Fairly nice course during the summer season.Used to be better kept,I think money for maintenance has been cut.Bar and restaurant very nice and they put on a very well done tournament through out the season.

William Mis

The fairways were great but the greens were like the surface of the moon. Cant fault the greenskeeper. The golfers that morning need to learn to repair their ball marks!!! The sand traps need sone attention!!

Richard King

Had a 9:03 tee off time but they had a men's club tournament going. Teed off at 9:30. That did not bother us. Went to lunch after 9 holes. We could not order what we wanted because the chef had to cook 40 steaks. We could only order hot dogs and hamburgers. Not very professional. We would have waited for our food.

David Kelly

Nice! We're not golfers, but we're here for a catered event, drinks a bit pricey, but ok. You'll have to ask a golfers about the course, not our thing!

Chris T.

Hospitality of the staff was excellent! Very enjoyable afternoon.

Tyler Logan

Amazing course. Fairways and greens were immaculate. I can't wait to play again.

Awesome course that is always well maintained. It has a challenging yet usually fair layout that tests every aspect of your game. Landing areas from the tee have trouble - OB, water, sand, TALL grass. Even if it looks like it's wide open, you need to set up for your next shot as most greens have multiple tiers. You have to give yourself a shot to the correct section of the green. I uploaded a lot of pictures where you can see most of what I described,

Edward Greene

Really a great course well kept, a little long for me with tough greens, but I will definitely play it again.

Brian Hayes

Course in horrible condition. Rain has made it almost unplayable. 230 yd T shots plugging in the Fairway. Not a fair test of skill. Cart path only make it 3 times worse because the paths are miles from the Fairway.

Matthew Torres

Steven Acampora

Dana Berwick

Great course. Very beautiful with challenging holes, though not impossible for high handicappers. Only downside was the way we were rushed through our game even though we had no one behind us.
