We played in a tournament on the North course and it was fun. The course was ok, but I wish it was in better shape. The tee boxes at the driving range / practice area were a mess (grass was long), and the greens on the course were a bit slower than I would expect for a top notch course. Maybe they were keeping it a bit longer to avoid burnout with all the recent heat.

Went to Matches Tavern for lunch. The grounds are beautiful and the clubhouse is immaculate. The restaurant and bar are a great place to stop before or after hitting the course. Ask for what the chef is offering. Always something great to eat. The locker rooms are exquisite.

With regards to weddings, trust the staff, trust their approvals, they know what they are doing. They will keep the event on the schedule. The food, of course, is excellent. For photos they will recommend the bridge, I recommend the bridge, use the bridge. The venue is beautiful and the public course is immaculate. I can not speak for the private side.

Beautiful course, grounds, and clubhouse. Top tier for sure. Coolers with Waters in the carts, a roving club cart with drinks and snacks, and an additional outdoor snack shack with drinks and sandwiches. My 2 boys, 8 and 12, just started lessons at the golf academy and it is a really great program with some fantastic instructors that are just great with kids. I highly recommend both the adult experience as well as the kids.

I've been to Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach ,RTJ Golf Trail, Ocean City Md. etc.etc. By far my favorite course is Lake of Isles. Play it every chance I get and it's never boring. I'm 72 and play from the silver tees. Plenty challenging. Do yourself a favor and join the Troon point accumulation system. To paraphrase "Jack" If I had one more round to play, I'd want it to be "Lake of Isles" Hoping to get invited to the South Course sometime in my lifetime.

Attended a wedding reception and it was very well done. Staff was attentive and the setup was very nice for this type of function. The only minus was you had to walk through the clubhouse pub to get to the outdoor deck where drinks and horderves were served

I don't know why anyone would have a wedding anywhere else. Location/Facility: The grounds are perfect for an indoor/outdoor wedding. Foxwoods is so convenient to get to, and a great place for your guests to have fun before and after the wedding, a lot of our guests stayed an extra night and made a long weekend out of it. The ceremony takes place on a large deck made for weddings overlooking the lake. We had or wedding in early October and the weather cooperated with us. Parking is easy, we had a shuttle running just for us in a loop between the casino and venue. After our ceremony we were whisked away to have photos done on the bridge overlooking the lake. Our guests were ushered through the stunning entry way adjacent a craftsman style study/library with stone fireplace. Our cocktail hour was in the reception hall, with vaulted exposed beam ceilings. After our photos we were brought into the bridal suite to await entrance into the party. Planning Staff: We had about 3 months to plan our wedding when we finally found this venue, we had seen some positive reviews but they weren't first on the list because we were apprehensive about a "casino" wedding. We called and were put in touch with Sheila and scheduled an early morning appointment to see the location. I haven't had any other experience with weddings, but I can't imagine anyone being more pleasant, professional, and competent at their job. We knew it was the place fairly quickly and signed our contract that morning. We communicated with Sheila no fewer than 2 dozen times over the next few months, by phone and email she responded quickly. She helped us get everything in order, offered advice based on her experience, and really just became our friend, it was a surprising experience. Day Of Staff: The day before we were introduced to the General, Bethany. Any minor doubts we had about the logistics of the wedding day wen out the window. Flawless execution, manner, and organization. The Day: Best day ever.

Took my son and his friends for his 21st birthday. Golfed here since it opened and this is the poorest I've seen the course. Dead areas around fringe on 4 or 5 holes, large rocks bigger than golf balls in a couple sand traps, looked like grass around some of the greens not cut. Overall shabby condition, not worth the $560 spent. I've played public courses for under $50 in much better condition. Very disappointing.

My wonderful girlfriend Tara decided to surprise me with a trip to Lake of Isles and a night out at Foxwoods this past Thursday. When we got to the course we were greeted kindly by everyone but David (the starter) really made our experience! He was so knowledgeable about the course and offered up some tips for us while we played the North course for our first time. He checked in with us at the turn and then later at the 12th hole. David truly made our experience memorable. Also, after our round of golf we sat at the bar for a quick drink and a bite to eat. It was there that our bartender Christina took great care of us as well as entertained us with her wit and smile! Thank you all for a great experience- we will surely be back again!

From the moment we arrived at the Lake of Isles the staff was just absolutely amazing. We were there for my mom's wedding and we did not have to worry about a single thing! Bethany was a life a saver when it came to my crazy 2 year old daughter who was also a flower girl but didn't want to stay still. Other than the racist and rude behavior by one of the males in the pro shop I really enjoyed the course. I was in town for a couple days with my family, and in-laws, and I wanted to treat my father in law to a round at Lake Of Isles. While I was checking in at the pro shop, I confirmed the tee time, the number in our group, and and the rate (I had a military discount). After I confirmed that I would be paying for two, the male associate said” it will probably be declined” when I inserted my card in the credit card machine, and he was noticeably surprised when the payment was processed. After the payment was processed, I asked the associate if there was anything that I needed to know as this was my first time at Lake of Isles. I expected the associate to explain where the driving range & putting green were, and where I could get something to eat as we arrived early to warm up and get something to eat. The associate ignored me and walked away. Dumbfounded by his behavior I walked off to the tavern to get a hotdog and fries. Although the staff in the tavern were really nice and helpful, I was upset to learn their was a snack shack open where I could have picked up the hotdog and drinks. Apparently the associate doesn’t feel Latinos can afford playing at Lake of Isles, even if we serve the country. Although I really enjoyed the course, I will not be going back.

The courses are challenging. Since it is a resort course - you cannot walk. some holes from green to tee are very long. If you like resort golf and taking a cart it is solid. I think Black Hall is the better course

We got married at Lake of Isles this past July 2018, and we had an amazing experience from start to finish. As soon as we walked in to visit the venue, we knew we were in the perfect place (we are also obsessed with how good it smells!). The deck and scenery, where we had the ceremony, is stunning, and the ballroom is so beautiful. We opted to have the cocktail hour at Matches Tavern which worked out perfectly, as guests could be inside or outside enjoying the weather. We had a lot of guests coming in from Australia and from various other distances around the area, and the proximity and ability to coordinate with Foxwoods was very convenient. Everyone had a great time the whole weekend at Foxwoods for the rehearsal dinner (and various other shenanigans) and at Lake of Isles for the wedding. We even held a breakfast at Foxwoods the next morning, and with the Lake of Isles affiliation it was very easy to coordinate. Working with Sheila made the wedding planning so easy. Sheila is responsive, knowledgeable and really just perfect; she was able to answer every question and make sure that we had to coordinate and remember as little as possible. On the day of the wedding, Bethany was there to make sure everything ran smoothly, and it absolutely did! (Brodie and I cannot thank you both enough.) I think both Sheila and Bethany are fantastic and the exact people you would want to help you plan your wedding. Everyone at the venue was amazing to work with, and we are honestly looking forward to the next time we can have or be at an event there. It's also important to mention that ALL of the food at Lake of Isles is fantastic. We cannot recommend enough having your wedding at Lake of Isles.
