Conditions fair to poor, strike one. Twilight rates don't start until 5pm, strike two. 37 dollar greens fee for non residents, strike three. Much better courses to play in Hartford county at a better price. That's what happens when government gets involved where they don't belong.

This course has come a long way since it was unplayable a few years ago. They are doing some renovations so that means they are trying.

Only played the front 9 of 18 (27 in all) and overall it's a decent track kept in pretty good shape. Not overly challenging but walkable and reasonable rates.

In very good shape for a municipal track, fairways are a bit patchy in areas, greens and rough are in great shape though. Nice layout, not overly challenging but enough trees within the layout and subtle and not so subtle undulations on the greens to keep ones attention. Will definitely be back for another round in the near future. Also the gentleman in the pro shop by the name for Joe was very friendly and amicable both over the phone and in person.

Goodwin Park could be a nicer park, but it's dominated by a golf course half the year and a stupid light display the other half. There's also pool, fitness trail, nature trails, playground, basketball court, some sports fields and a pond, but it's dominated by those aforementioned two things. This has the effect of making the park seem somewhat private and exclusionary.

What a great course. 18 holes of mostly open fairways. Nothing too tough. Some long par 3s and a very long dogleg hole. Prices are very reasonable.

Ignoring the golf playing aspects of this park, because I don't play golf. A beautiful park to walk through, love the landscape, the trees, ponds, birds, hills, flat ground. Great for a run, jog, or walk. One of my favorite places to watch the sunrise in Hartford. Newly renovated basketball court and tennis courts, much appreciated and needed. Playground area was literally covered with trash when I was there. Uncovered trash cans and no recycling options, squirrels taking the trash out of the cans and scattering it throughout the park. Garbage needs attention.

Shouldn't let people out on the course during a tournament, we were playing our second to last hole and the course decided to let the public play in between groups during a paid tournament. "No booze before 9am" policy which is completely ridiculous, especially during a tournament when players would like to BUY alcohol. No cart food/beverage service (on Saturday) Fairways are not mowed down. Poor course management.

Great 27 hole public golf course. The tees, fairways and greens are in excellent shape. Beautiful Park, great staff, and a nice Clubhouse make this a golfing destination! This gets five stars because the play is quick and it is not crowded.

The north 9 isn't the worst and it's cheap. Fairways not maintained very well. Alot of dead grass clippings on every hole. Played on a Friday at 3. Wasn't crowded at all which was nice.

First of all the golf course is not in good shape at all. It's possible to play many other better courses for a better rate. My husband and I paid $30 a piece on a special deal June 1 of this year. It took 3 hours to play the front 9, mostly because there was a group of 6 two groups ahead of us. What kind of course let's a 6some play?!! Because of the slow play we asked for a raincheck and got one for the remaining $15 of the $30 we already paid. When we went to use the raincheck in September they wanted an additional $18 a piece to play 9 holes. I explained that we had played just the front on a special rate of $30, but the guy said that's not how it works. I wouldn't have paid extra for 18 holes based on how bad the course was the first time. Just a rip off!!

Really want to like this place but the greens are in terrible shape already. They were really bad last year too and don't seem to have improved at all. Cart paths in terrible shape, no club/ball/shoe cleaners on the course. Not a great dollar value when compared to keney, stanley, or any of the West Hartford courses. Would encourage them to offer resident rates to people who live in Newington, otherwise can't justify it over one of the many other nearby courses.

worst place to go mosquito wouldn't let you stand there for a sec plus there is acres of space there and they wouldn't let you spare a corner so you can play something other than golf. the guy said there are signs all over saying it is reserved for golf however i stayed there for a hr and didn't see a sign beware don't go if you do not play golf the whole 2 grounds will be empty but they wouldn't spare you a small corner.

The practice range was great! Brand new mats and nice range balls. Also, the tee holders were great and the various targets at different yardages are fun to hit at. Unfortunately, I don't live very close to the course, but if I did, I would definitely go there often to hit range balls.

The new management appears to have turned Goody around. It's not perfect, but they've made a lot of improvements. The miserable state the course was in is gone and there's now at least some hope that the course will be pristine again at some point on the next few years.
