Played here today for the first time. The layout is challenging but fair and conditions throughout were excellent. Many holes were just spectacular. Tee'd off at 7:20, off the course in 4 hours on a Saturday morning. Unlike some other reviewers I found the driving range to be one of the nicest on course ranges I've seen. It's not cheap but my playing partners and I agreed it was well worth the $67 and we all can't wait to go back. Didnt have time to eat but the pro shop and facilities looked very nice. This place is country club golf open to the pubkic.

Great course, playable for any level golfer. Course isn't long but it is challenging. Greens generally run 9 - 11 on the Stimpmeter.

I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone. ever. for any event or for a game of golf. We have patronized this business for many years and our experiences have always been questionable and each occasion whether playing golf, having a casual summer dinner or hosting an event, something has gone amiss. But, we wrote these shortcomings off and made excuses for these episodes saying: 'maybe it was a bad night,' or 'surely there is something else going on in their life to lash out and treat long time customers so poorly', and 'the golf course is nice, so we can let it go this time'. For a period of time, we were willing to overlook the sub-optimal service, complete lack of attention to detail (or failure to care about details during major events), disorganization and inadequate resources on the golf course and off, terribly rude servers, an arrogant, egotistical chef who is as nasty to customers as he is the staff and refuses to take in to account the client's wishes, disgusting food that is heavy,dripping in oil and lacks all culinary merit, and an owner who is equally rude, nasty and frankly disrespectful. During recent events we hosted at Fairview, shortcuts were taken that shortchanged our guests and our wishes; we were deliberately overcharged for part of the meal that was never served and when we raised these concerns about overages and poor service, the owner lashed out which was not only completely unprofessional but a complete embarrassment to himself and his business acumen (or lack thereof). Finally we have reached our limits and we refuse to tolerate this type of behavior and service; we are sharing this review to inform others and encourage you to not only think twice but also to take your business to a location where it will be welcomed, appreciated in the community, and to a facility where you will be treated fairly and assured a reasonable quality of service.This is a pattern of behavior and service that persists at Fairview. I am recommending you avoid all of this and take your business elsewhere

I don't ever leave reviews but... I have been coming to this place since 2001. My playing partners and I play all over the state and we make sure to hit this gem up at least ten times a year. I don't want to tell everybody how great it is because I don't want everyone to know about it. The course is Great and has a lot to offer. You can use every club in your bag and play every kind of shot. This is classic southern New England golf at it's best. The clubhouse is spacious and comfortable with an awesome stone patio over looking the course. Everything you need for a great day of golf is at this place.

What a great place to have any kind of event! The covered patio seating is perfect for a group of 30-50 people. The food is always wonderful and the staff never disappoints! This was about my 15th time visiting this facility.

Great course. You'll use all the shot you have in your bag. Lots of up and down holes, a really good workout when your walking. Great staff, and the PGA Pro, Bob Sparks is excellent. You really need to see the size of the kids classes, but they all seem to love the classes. One of the best junior programs I've seen.

For 20+ years our roving golf league has played and dined at the course 3-4 times a year. We have enjoyed the course and been very respectful. Tonight we were accused of tearing up greens and smashing carts and harassed for two holes before being kicked off for life. When we were approached by security we admitted that we did lightly bump the carts with NO DAMAGE. We were treated as if we were hoodlums. If you want to spend a relaxing night golfing and enjoying time with your friends you WILL DEFINITELY WANT TO FIND ANOTHER COURSE. Handled very poorly!

Trying to play all the nice public courses in CT has been a goal of mine for the last 2 years. I've been scraping the bottom of the barrel until I found this gem. Fairview is definetely in my top 3 CT courses under $100. The greens run fast and true and are maintained like a county clubs. Each hole has it's own character, no repeats. The layout is beautiful and serves as a great example of a picturesque New England course. My tee time was very early so the pace was nice, didn't use the practice facility.

My brother & his new wife had their wedding 'celebration' at this venue. Having been in the restaurant business for many years, i can say the whole experience was outstanding. Keith, the executive chef was on hand to make certain all ran smoothly. The food was awesome, the bartender (sorry i can't remember her name ) was quick & friendly, and the wait staff professional. I would highy recommend this venue. !!

The course is beautiful and well kept. Everybody including players and staff were grumpy and angry. The pace was terrible. Worst I have played in years. The driving range is a bunch of astro turf mats on a cinder block path. The carts all have GPS. The food was good. After a wedding a bunch of drunks took some carts out......
