This is a stable of the city of Bridgeport. The Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course (Not related to the high school) is a fantastic golf course which features two challenging and fun 18 hole courses. If you need golf supplies, the pro shop is the perfect place to get them. Looking to grab a snack after the first 9 holes of your game, the snack bar offers a great range of great tasting food. This is a must visit for anybody in Bridgeport looking to play some great golf, or someone visiting in the area

Easy to play and sometimes the starters/staff are nice. It is really hit or miss with people that work there. Much like a gun shop or gun range I would say, in how they treat their customers. 18 hole courses: Black and Red. So there is never a hold up!

My favorite go to place because there are two courses, with very different layouts so a good challenge for any golfer. Very nice amenities; Pro shop, Pro Lessons, GPS-enabled golf carts, driving range onsite- bring a $5 bill or singles for bucket. 19th hole- Vazzy's nice ending to a fun round.

This year (2008) the City of Bridgeport has rebuilt all the bunkers and added new bunkers to the Black Course and combined with all the other improvements this course is nothing short of amazing. The "Wheel" is sure to give all the other area courses a run for their money. I have lived in Fairfield for 20 years and just discovered this golf course and am glad I finally did.

Black course needs work. One hole - #14 -had a temporary green; 13 and 16 have severe drainage problems. Worth the $26 or so I paid via Golfnow. Course has so much potential; unfortunately, I I will not play it again in spite of the discounted Golfnow rate.

Staff in the golf shop was unfriendly. She was clearly put out that we were bothering her. Approaches to the greens were in rough shape. Fairways not so great either. Won’t rush back to play. Too bad because all the media advertising about the refurbishing of the course resulted in our coming out to play from 30+ miles away.

The black course is usually a good play. I was a little disappointed at the level of disrepair of some of the tee boxes and one green. Overall it was a good round but I would like to see more care taken with the tee boxes, fairways, green, and paths.

The red course was in awful shape today, but we got a great deal on the 9-hole round. I can't speak to the quality of the black course, but it's been pretty good in the past.
