Excellent experience Staff was welcoming and friendly. Treated me as a member of private club. Course in wonderful shape, very fair and playable

Staff is friendly and professional. Rates are reasonable in the off season. The course is in the middle of the valley so putts don't slope off any particular mountain range. Lots of fescue and very challenging. At a mile high, the ball really carries. Check it out.

Mud on the ball in late July, and not from rain? No staff on the course to promote a reasonable pace. 2:20 for 9? Green side mowing at 2pm? Range balls from the late 80s? Pull cart came over on the Mayflower. No starter in sight, wasn't even offered a scorecard. Highlight was a very attentive server in the restaurant that looked like it was decorated in the southern bigot motif. No wonder there were so few cars in the lot. Pity, property has potential.

Brandon Church

Friendly staff, great course. Fairways and greens were a little shaggy, but it was a holiday weekend. Course was in great condition apart from that.

William Mortenson

Best snow in the valley for skiing so far

Kathi Sullivan

Pretty good specials for dinner, nice course

A beautiful public course with a very friendly and helpful staff. This is my home course and it never gets old. It may look wide open from the road but as with most links style courses plenty of challenges await with undulations, fairway berms, bunkers and water hazards. I do have instances where under my breath I scold course architect Keith Foster for rewarding my straight drive with a strategically placed bunker or berm, but then again I don’t hit it straight that often! Don’t be afraid to move up a tee box or play the “hybrid” tee box options on the scorecard. All are rated in the GHIN handicap system. The panoramic views of the nearby ski mountain and surrounding valley are spectacular. The course is home to plenty of wildlife, including a couple of cool pre-historic Sandhill cranes. The clubhouse restaurant is really quite nice as well, and I would highly recommend getting food and drinks afterward. Try and keep your ball on the course. And if you have an early morning tee time keep your pace up so I don’t have to hit into you!!

Haymaker is the best course in town! All the staff are so friendly and helpful. They have great clinics and tournaments. Love the glow ball and 3 club. So excited for the new upgrades coming this year!!

Great little 18 hole course; I'd say the front 9 is easier than the back 9; lots of tall, thick grass to lose your ball, so bring plenty! You can walk or rent a cart for $40. There is a driving range & practice green, water & a few restrooms & shelters in case of rain or lightning. Clubhouse has indoor & outdoor seating, specials for golf and/or food & drink on various night's of the week and it's clean & comfy. Come check it out!

Course is in great shape. Fun to play. Watch out for back nine.

Haymayker is my home away from home. I'm there nearly every day working on my game as I am currently in pursuit of a professional playing career. I love all the hater's reviews on here. It's like, "man, the staff didn't meet my expectations for ass kissing so I'm just gonna diss all over the place". If you're looking for a staff which is friendly and offers little b.s. this is the place for you. I took away a star for lacking course conditions. Green speed is always slow, bunkers need new life put into them, and the rough bounces more than the fairway in certain spots. If you keep the ball where it needs to be it plays very true however....

Nice trails for Nordic trails, but loops are small. Not a lot of terrain variety. Super nice views from the restaurant. Friendly staff. On the expensive side.

Ran into an extremely rude woman who works at the Nordic center. They lost our business and any recommendations I might give. You have to treat locals better.

Fabulous link style course in Northwest Colorado. The staff is excellent and the course offers exceptional views of the Yampa Valley and the Steamboat Ski Resort. I would highly recommend Haymaker to any golf enthusiast. I will be back to play many more rounds here.

Very nice property and very friendly staff. We went here for cross country skiing and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had a very delicious lunch after skiing. I was very satisfied with the value we got for our money!

Ronald Niemeyer

Great course in amazing shape. The staff were all very pleasant

Frank Harney

Good challenging course. Hot them straight and long enough to clear the early native grass off the tee.

We were disappointed in every respect of the customer experience we received at Haymaker. Three weeks in advance a reservation was made in our name for club rentals and a round. Upon arrival we were quoted a price higher than what had been provided to us (in writing) for our reservation, as well as being told the club rentals weren't available for our group. We were denied any legitimate reason as to why the reservation we made in advance would not be honored that day. The management failed to rectify and take responsibility for their error. Because of our experience we would not recommend bringing your business here. Vote with your dollars to a service provider that demonstrates the ability to follow through with their obligations and customer service.

No words can discribe the amount of frustration our group encountered at Haymaker. We booked a tee time for 6 players WITH rental clubs weeks in advance. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Tim Dever and were initially told by him that they didn't rent clubs?? He told us that in the two years he worked there he had never once rented clubs. We questioned Tim as to why we were quoted a price with rentals when in reality they didn't have them. Tim then changes his answer and tells our group that they DO have 6 rental sets but they are all rented on the course. Understanding that Tim was in fact lying to us, we asked to speak to a manager. Tim simply handed us a business card and instructed us to call him. He never once owned up to the miscues and never once apologized for the inconveniences he caused our group. Customer service is all about problem solving and making the experience enjoyable for the people who pay for your services. Avoid this facility and do not under any circumstances give them your money. Terrible management and even worse customer service.

First course I played when I moved here. Loved playing it.

This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I'm currently out here on a golf vacation with 5 others over the 4th of July weekend. We made reservations 3 weeks in advance for 6 green fees and 6 club rentals for x $. When we arrived to the club house, Tim Dever who was over the counter was extremely unprofessional and possibly the rudest service I have ever experienced. He told us in quote, " we don't do club rentals". While expressing our frustration he told us that they actually do rentals but they only have 6 rentals and they already rented them out this morning. I will absolutely never bring my money to this golf course and will continue to make sure people will be informed local or out of state that the course management is horrific.
