Took the kids to visit grandma and we happened to pass by this course. I made a mental note to call and inquire about single walk on policy and general info. Spoke with Zach and from beginning to end of the conversation Zach was professional, courteous, helpful, and friendly. I asked a question, he'd answer the question and anticipate the next question or embellished his answer with more details. I ended the conversation feeling like I definitely had to visit this course before I left. Two days later I show up with clubs in hand and there was Zach in the pro shop with all the professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness he exuded on the phone. I work in management at a resort community in Hawaii and Zach would be a shoo in at any resort course or country club. I got out as a single and eventually joined up with Sheryl, Don, and Eric, locals to the area and we all had a blast! With their help I was able to navigate the course and really have fun. Playing an unknown course, comes with a certain level of frustration but not this time. I love this course's layout and greens. Very different from home. I play resort courses all the time and I was SURPRISED this was a muni! They do a great job keeping it in good shape and clean. Took awhile to get used to the different grass but I adjusted to shoot a 77 at the end of the day. From my experiences on the phone, pro shop, and on course, I really had a great day. My own personal Disneyland at Mountain Meadows!

A very good and challenging golf course with lots of nice terrain and it had a relaxing view of the Fairplex area. It can be crowded sometimes but there’s always a spot for everyone. Just like most golf courses, they have memberships, occasional promotions, and a decent restaurant/bar and can accommodate events.

I had forgotten how much fun this course is to play. The golf service was excellent. The course was in rather good shape except for the mud puddles here and there. We played in about 4.5 hours. Overall I reccomend this course. After the round we were drawn in by the happy hour sign at the entrance. We ordered 5 minutes too early to get the special happy hour price...but the server didn't even mention it? We just paid full price. Next time we'll be sure to sit and wait for the clock to catch-up.

It is just a shame this course is not run better. Generally most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Course conditions are excellent, especially given it is in the middle of summer and 5 years into a drought. Layout is great, practice area is nice. However this is ruined by the pace of play and the overbooking of the course. It is never, ever, under 5 hour round at Mountain Meadows. And the norm is 5:30 minutes to 6 hours. Don't go on a weekday thinking it will be much better. Tee times are usually 20-40 minutes behind even in the morning. Pulling up to hole #5, expect three groups to be sitting there waiting. Pulling up to hole #12, expect three groups to be sitting there waiting. Just to give an example, the other morning we had a 9:20 tee time, didn't get to tee off until around 10:00, finished at 3:35. How can you already be 40 minutes behind at 9 in the morning? Heard the group in front of us say "we should let them play through, but they will still wait on every group in front of us anyway." There is never an option to play through because carts are backed up on every tee. It is the norm to see fivesomes teeing off from the blues, and no one in the group getting it more than 100 yards down the fairway. Course conditions are great, especially since they replaced the bunkers and started properly raking them. I would gladly pay 65-70 dollars to play this course on the weekend if I could get a round in at any decent pace, and they had some marshals who actually enforced pace of play. There are several holes that are notorious for back ups, and hiring a few fore-caddies would make a huge difference. The problem is that each week they are still packed, and thus the problem will never change. Generally most of the staff appear to be embarrassed because they know its a problem, and aren't empowered to do anything to fix it. I generally feel sorry for them and all the complaints they have to deal with. Don't think things will be any better if you go over to San Dimas. The course management there is even worse, and pace of play might even be slower, but that's a different story. Not to mention the course is more expensive and not as nice. I wish they would implement a few ideas: -Have an early morning tee times (6:30 -8:30) for $60 that are further spaced out for people who want to play fast and have a few staff enforcing pace of play for this group. -Having the starter inquire about handicaps and require 20+ handicappers to play from the whites or reds -Clear out some of the trees on the trouble spots on the course to help speed up play. -remove the general option of booking a fivesome, and only allow by special request, and monitor these groups for pace of play -When the course gets backed up, offer free range balls to the groups who will be teeing off more than 10 minutes after their original tee time Its a shame because I enjoy playing this course so much. It seems like there are so many opportunities here to speed up play, but looks like none of them will be addressed anytime soon.

This course is a top notch course. You just have to be smart about when you tee off on this course. I recommend if you can, tee off after 2 if you can manage to golf on a weekday if the days are long enough (spring-summer months) I haven't tried to golf on the weekend because I work, but I've heard horror stories about 6-7 hour rounds. With that being said, anybody that rates this course any lower than a 4, doesn't know their golf. This course is challenging and fun to play everytime I tee it up here. Long enough to test your skills as an amateur, but not too long where you aren't having fun. Great mix of par 3's, par 4's which play hard and some that play easy and par 5's you can score on with great execution of shots. This course will gobble you up if you are not sharp, which is an excellent trait to have for a golf course. The price range is extremely fair for such a nice, public course. It's always packed for a reason!!

Wow what a bunch of whiners writing reviews here. This is a public course with reasonably pricing. Not a country club. Great course, courteous enough staff that has to put up with complainers who what to play fast on a weekend and a great fun layout.

I totally agree with the comment below about their horrible staff. I played a round on a Saturday. The pace of play was horrible. We played until 12th hole and finally called the pro-shop to complain. The guy who answered the phone was defensive from the moment I said the pace of play was slow and that if he can send anyone out. Customer service skill number one: Do not argue with a customer who is finally calling the pro-shop, because if the customer is actually calling, chances are he is really frustrated. Your first words should have been... “we apologize for the slow pace today. It is a Saturday so please be patient. We will send someone out to make sure groups are moving along.” Needless to say, I will not be playing here anymore and I will make sure my “Korean” friends know about it as well.

Love the Players Club deal! $40 a month for 2 large buckets a day, no cart fees ever, and discounts on merchandise! They keep the range balls in pretty good condition. Plus, they've made improvements to the course in the last year or so. This is one of the best public courses around.

I can totally understand why there is so- so many people play here and makes a round of golf game about 5 hours or more.... The course is too nice. The environment is beautiful, course lay out is great. This is a 80 dollars quality course but you only pay around 20 for twilight. That's why so many people play here + the staffs is all A plus quality too.

It's been a while but my golf buddy is now in good shape again and we're ready to return. Great memories, where else can you play links golf in L.A. county, close to San Bernardino county. The course is challenging and scenic, with shade and cool breezes that keep it 10 or more degrees below the surrounding suburbs in Summer. Well groomed and if you play the fairways and take sensible risks, rewarding. compared to other courses within 50 miles, less waiting for players up ahead. Looking forward to our next round in April/May.

Very nice course but I agree with most of the reviews........the pace is very slow and is all because the people running this course do not do a good job at correctly spacing the different groups. They basically overbook the course.

Overbooked course. Started one our late. All tees were backed up for 25 mins each. Would make sense for them to charge a little bit more and not overbook to piss off less people. So far finished five holes in 3 hours.

"Played " Here 3 times and have yet to finish this course. Played with a 2-3 some each time all decent golfers and the tee times are just way over booked. Starting at 12 noon there should be no reason to not finish. Wouldn't suggest playing here if you want a decent pace.

We arrived for our tournament at 0835. Our tee time was at 900. The golf course was over book. No one was out at the first hole. Our group of Guys did not tee off until 10 o’clock. We stood in the fairway on every hole to see 5 someone’s in front of us. It took from 10 to 400. A 7 hr round which is rediculous. This is second time this has happen to hour club. There wasn’t a Marshall on the course. I play. On Tuesday at goose creek in 3/1/2 hrs. There was no happiness playing your course.

This is my favorite course to play near my house! It puts Marshall canyon to shame as far as course conditions and only cost a few $ more. Play can be slow at times and have 6 carts waiting at first tee!

Had a very bad experience on Nov 17th. We had 11am starting tee time and as usual we arrived 45 minutes ahead. On arrival we noticed that the first tee was backed up about 10 spots deep. I went in to inquire what's the status with the tee times (if it is delayed or if it is still on time). I was told there was a LA County tourney that had gone out earlier and tee times are delayed minimum by an hour. We also notice that the 10th tee and the hole was completely vacant for some time. So I inquired if we can tee off on the 10th. I was refused. I asked the person behind the desk (Rob) if we should pay so we don't lose our slot or will he call us in for payment when I our time has come. He fired back saying "pay now to because these are public tee times" . I had no clue what that meant. We finally ended up teeing off at 12:25pm and barely finished 9 holes since the pace of play was 45min per hole. DISCOUNT OR RAIN-CHECK FOR THE BACK NINE WAS REFUSED. Rob said they had no control on when it came to the pace of the LA County tournament players. County player have all the rights. To be honest I saw no marshaling. Also, are the LA County tournament players allowed to play at their leisure and why are tournaments not posted on the website?? Seems like the staff was ill prepared. I will be calling the manager. Will post his response later.

Beautiful location and easy to access. Customer service was very slow, out plates were never collected following the lunch even after we left. The food was the worst I've had in quite some time if not ever. The "cake" was so hard, I almost couldn't get my fork thru it. Would not recommend for food but otherwise seemed nice.

I've only visited the Mountain Meadows bar and grill. The food is good and reasonably priced. I also talked to a gentleman at the pro shop about green fees. The green fees are also reasonably priced.

I left my bose speaker in the golf cart and called to pick it up and the staff didn't turn it in. The manager didn't ask me my name or for my phone number incase it was found. I'm never golfing here again and I'm telling my friends not to golf here either.

Didn’t tee off until 30 minutes after our scheduled tee time. The total round took 6 hours to play 18 holes. The staff allows 5-6 people per group which resulted in 4 groups waiting on one single hole to play. Many tee boxes are located in line of fire from multiple holes. Course itself was fine. Staff did not do a good job watching the pace of play. Cheeseburger was good.

Nice course overall. Played a full 18 in about 6 hrs though. It seemed like they were over booked and our hold up was a group of 4 with carts, a group of 5 walking, another group of 5 with cars who were late to their tee time, and then our group of 3. On the back nine some jokers jumped in and they spent 10 mins looking for their balls each hole!!! So maybe this club could improve on time management but all n all nice course to play.

Great place to have an event. We honored the police and firemen there and it was great. The golf course looked well maintained, but I'm not sure what the green fees are. Overall, it looked like a nice establishment.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! The staff were so unprofessional and took bookings for tee time without planning for carts. Had to wait over an hour to get the cart only to get one not charged enough. They allowed teams of 5 with novices and moving at a snail pace. at 14th Cart gave up and had to abandon the game after 4.30 hours of torture. NEVER gonna visit back.
