At the present this business gets a score of 4.2 out of 5 and this score has been based on 503 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is really good, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the assessment is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they are pleased, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Golf is included in the category of Golf course.
The pace of play was good. The greens are in great shape and true could be a little faster. The elephant grass is coming back. They need to do something about that sooner rather than later.
You need to teach your starter to say hello, he does not talk. A thank you would be nice.
Pace of play can be VERY slow which would usually not be a big deal except that they send out groups of 5. They are directly causing the slow play by doing that. Regardless, the course is in great condition. Well maintained and priced well.
Great value
Vero reasonable prices and ocean view. It's state owned so with$30 you can do 18 hole game.
I played here yesterday. It was fantastic golf course. I didn't play it. just took a pictures. I will play golf several times more. It is wonderful, beautiful seaside view golf course. I think here is more better than pebble beach. just walking is $26, It makes sense? I really appreciate here. Thanks. I'll be back.... haha..
lots of hills. good view. bery nice
Good driving range and good course over looking Pacific ocean. but slow play
Los Verdes Golf course is a public golf course on Palos Verdes Hill. The rates are the same for any of the other municipal courses, but, it is the best one. The greens are kept nicely, nice rough and fairway, and good hole layout. The people who work there are friendly, and very keen to help. The course is very well treated by the workers there, and is a great value. The views there are excellent, and are very nice while playing golf. The shop there is stocked with good stuff, and the service is great. The rates are exactly the same as the other municipal courses in the city, but it is better than some of the other courses, such as Alondra. The reason this gets 4 and not 5 stars is because the fairways could be kept a little better, as a lot of the time there are patches of dirt in the fairway, and mysterious plants. Another thing people might find annoying is that the place is very crowded, can be up to 6+ hours. But overall, a very nice course.
Great scenery for a great price during twilight. Unfortunately we couldn't finish 18 holes in 6 hours. Apparently this is the normal speed of play at this course.
Great views and golf experience at a fair rate.
It was my first time golfing.i had a wonderful experience. It's a beautiful place. I still suck at the game, but I'm going to keep trying. I hope to return soon.
Great place i had real good time the wedding i attened &everything they had was wonderful me and my wife loved it & would love 2 come back
Nice muni by the big blue Pacific. Can be really slow play, however and the facilities are very dated.
Good food served by great people.
Always a good value track, nice views!
Good price nice course, great ocean views and temperatures when it's 90+ inland
My family used their hall for a wedding reception. Gorgeous views of the ocean and greens, excellent food (steak and lobster tails), friendly and timely staff. Jackie really took care of the bride's wishes and kept the entire night running smoothly and on time! Jackie and her team were really amazing and filled in as wedding planners before and during the wedding, coordinating all of the vendors and putting together a timeline. Highly recommend!
Every thing was nice but it would of been nicer if they were on time when we got there the tables were not set we had to wait outside for one hr.
If I was giving a rating for the outside view and upkeep of greenery, I would give it a rating of 5. I was not there for golf, but for a wedding. The day prior, I was at the wedding rehearsal and used the women's restroom which was a MESS and smelled really bad. One of the stalls had "yuck" On the toilet so I went to another stall that was good to use. On the day of the wedding, which was the next day, I was officiating the wedding so I got there early and needed to use the same restroom. To my surprise, again, the restroom still smelled bad and was a mess. I entered same stall as the day before and the "yuck" was still on toilet, which meant, they never cleaned it from day before. The Bridal.Suite was next to the restroom and the odor from the restroom was present in the suite. Also, the suite was dirty. They really need to renew it. The hallway where the restrooms and suite is located had old furniture and the place didn't smell pleasant at all. Finally, when dinner was served at the reception, and I checked to see if food was catered from an outside source, but was told dinner was in fact provided by the venue. The food? Not good at all. I mean, I ate some of it cause I was hungry. We had chicken and A piece of steak. Couldn't really tell with the taste. Rolls were stale. Literally! And it was ALL cold. Didn't finish any of it. Thank God a Taco Man was there! All in all, I would recommend the outside, and maybe the banquet hall cause it is a nice sized hall with a great patio area. But I would recommend getting your own caterer and TRIPLE CHECK their promise to clean the restrooms!
I love this place... 20 years ago my Priscella and I had our wedding reception here and now we booked them again but this time for our little girls quinceanera.
Very good course and very nice people behind the desk friendly staff great view on a clear day you can see Catalina Island
Probably wasting my time reviewing this course for a couple of reasons: 1. The view is hard to beat.. especially from the 15th green. 2. It's public, and I think the most popular course in the country. Anyhow.. Just finished a round with my brothers-in-law... Fun, except a couple things worth noting; Course has some of the worst rough I can imagine. Too much hard packed dirt to try to hit off if you miss the fairway. I'd rather hit off crab grass and get a better result. Cute, Asian chick working the bar needs to learn some customer service skills. Absolutely no personality, in fact... borderline rude. Does not acknowledge customer with a " Can I help you"? or a "Thank you" for a tip. Puts your order on the counter and walks off without saying anything, so you are not sure if your order is ready to pick up or what?... Totally unacceptable. Find someone new!!! My group took advantage of the "$12 deal" which included a hot dog, chips, and bottled water and additional items from several options where the customer picks 2 choices. When we went to the bar to order the hot dogs, we turned in our receipts and received our hot dogs. I didn't realize until I got home that we were all supposed to have a bottle of water and a bag of chips included with that purchase. I don't understand why the person behind the bar couldn't inform us of this at the time we ordered. I like the course. But the service leaves A LOT to be desired. This place needs some serious help with their lever of customer service.
Great course with incredible view. Have been twice now. My only complaint is that seems to be a slow game.
Beautiful place! Don't have to be a member to play golf there
The weather is perfect for golf. Play a few games here you won't be disappointed
Nice view!! Cool breeze!!
Best ocean views for a public golf course in LA area.
Reasonable rates for a course with such great views. Well maintained.
The staff here are exceptional. We had our wedding here and the entire team were truly the best. They worked with us on all aspects of our event. Anyone wanting to get married should absolutely consider doing so here!
Dubbed “poor man’s pebble” by one of our playing partners, this course really is incredible. Low pressure, muni course that really offers some of the most beautiful views I’ve seen. Ended up playing here kind of last minute while spending a weekend in LA. Was very pleased with the course, greens were true and quick, views were incredible (especially on the back 9), and of course, weather was perfect. I’ve seen some complaints about pace; they’re valid. We went off at 15:00 in a group of 5 and were held up approaching on most of the front 9 holes. It sped up on the back through 14, then slowed again and we only played through 16 due to darkness.
Beautiful venue for wedding etc.
Great and challenging course for the price. Probably slower course in LA though
They will not confront or counsel the slow players, gave up trying to play there due to poor management. I understand everyone has a bad round, but when the entire group in front has to move to each players shot position to chat or comment is not ready golf. Beautiful course but marred terribly by the slow play. Time for new course management! !!
Course is in excellent shape, greens could be a little faster. Love the back 9 upgrades & what I see so far on the front 9. This place will be fantastic when it's done. The staff was professional , everyone knows their job. I'll be back soon!!
This is one of the nicest pubic course you can play for the price ther greens are unbelievable, fast, undulating
I dont remember being here, do they have golf learning classes or something..?
This is a great course for the cost and it's located in one of the most beautiful locations in California.
Terrible customer service
Fun, scenic course.
Great place for a gathering, or wedding.
Great location, beautiful course and gracious staff, say Hi to Lucille
Lovely layout but my gosh pace was so slow.
Great venue for hosting events, beautiful scenery and professional staff.
I would recommend this course, mainly because of the views and the course experience. Out of the public courses that I’ve played in LA and Orange Counties, this course has some of the best views of the ocean and mountains! As of April ‘19, the course is in great shape and the staff is friendly. Most, if not all of the fairways are sloped. The greens are pretty much all tough— hard to get a birdie on any of the par 3’s.. It makes for a challenging but fun round for all skill levels. The reason i rated this course 4 stars and not 5 stars: I believe the staff should group walkers with walkers and cart riders with other riders. Our round started around 2:45, and we could only finish 16 holes before we couldn’t see. Sunset was at 8:30 and we played a little past that time. Pace is excruciatingly slow, so don’t book a tee time after 2:00pm.
I ate lunch at the nicely updated cafe. The food was as expected for a golf venue, decent fare but nothing outstanding after one meal. The golf shop looked remodeled too but I didn't take a close look.
Beautiful venue, amazingly beautiful grounds and super helpful staff. We can't wait to shoot another wedding here!
Los Verdes is a very challenging and has great views. The downside is the fact they do 5 somes, and rounds can take 5.5 to 6+ hours.
Nice if you can get a tee time
Course is fine.. I got what I payed for. Pace of play is horrendous. Customer service in pro shop, cafe, etc. is equally terrible. Feels like employees hate their jobs and you. My group won't be going back.
Beautiful views of Catalina island and the blue Pacific made playing there a real treat. This is a tough course for short hitters like me, but when the new clubhouse is remodeled. it is going to be an awesome public venue for future tournaments
Public golf course with design of a private golf course but very busy and slow play.
The pro staff was most accommodating and professional. The course beautiful however, needs a marshall on the course. Round exceeded 6:15 hours due to very-slow play. Enforce ready golf. A must play course.
Great greens and friendly staff
Beautiful day!
It was so beautiful
Great price for this course. The views are amazing. Course played well.
Great views. Narrower than some. First class service.
Very nice and cool place play summertime
This course is the epitome of what is killing this game: - 5+ hour rounds - Zero etiquette or respect for tee times, they regularly put (5) people in a group even though they claim everyone in the group must approve This course is playing a volumes game...they have a good rate at around $40 for walking, but they use that rate to cram as many people onto the course at once. You will have plenty of time to take in the (3) or so holes that have great ocean views...because you will be standing around rather than playing golf. Save your money and pay more to play a course that actually cares about this game.
What's not to like?
Wonderful public course. When you consider the location, and the scenic ocean views, you really can't beat the prices. Gets a little crowded at peak times, and the amenities are not first rate, but it's more than a fun round of golf.
Great deal for juniors and in general is a good deal. Greens are usually in good condition along with the rest of the course. There is a driving range along with a chipping practice green. Great place to improve your game. There are no water hazards. Staff at the pro shop are really nice and helpful. Unfortunately it is a very crowded course which makes golfing here painfully slow. Happy golfing!
me and my husband love to come to this course
Prices are reasonable, and the views are great, but downhill from there. The urine smell, in the men's restroom, is what welcomes you. Get there early, if you want to finish 18 holes, you will be backed up for a LONG time.
Muni green fee. Few holes can compete with Monterey. But it took over 6 hours to finish 18. Wont be back
Great golf course. Amazing location with views of the ocean.
It has a great pro shop with fantastic service. The golf course is very hilly which makes it tough for a lot of golfers. All in all it’s a very good course
2nd best value in LA golf...
Very good view, layout, lacked maintenance.
Everything is great except the pace of play on the weekends.
Awesome views, and not a bad golf course either
It is in need of a lot of work, but what can you expect from a muni course.
Yes, the views are great for $50... but the fairways and rough are not in great shape, and there is dirt everywhere. We stopped after 9 holes because it took us 2 hours and 50 minutes, and the locals we were playing with said this was faster than usual. We teed off at 11am, actually, our tee time was 11am but we teed off at 11:20. Restaurant/bar looked nice, but they also didnt have the beverage cart out on the course....when it was packed with people waiting on every shot.
I attended a wedding here and it was a worthwhile experience: from the well manicured greens to the phenomenal decor and the notably good service. I however, had higher expectations as far as the food was concerned. It was ok, but not 5 star worthy. I will definitely be back for a round of golf, though.
Beautiful golf course. You can start to play before sunrise and rental golf club set just $55 (with 6 golf ball and reservation is not required). Playing golf with nice ocean view is very comfortable. You can feel “Sea Breath”. Furthermore, There are private event such as wedding in this place.
Amazing views, greens well kept.
I've been a member here for 6 years and this is my last. I'm only giving it 2 stars. First, let me give you what I like about the course. It has some of the most scenic views for a golf course. My favorite is number 15. Nice layout. Greens can be tricky. And it is a public course which means you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to play here. That being said. Here are the cons. Slow play. Slow play. Slow play. If you've got more than 6 hours to burn, then hey this course is for you. I came out once with my dad (been a member since 1970) on Sunday. We only got 9 holes in. We teed off at 1:30pm and we left after 9 holes because it was 7pm. Members don't get any benefits as to starting times. Since this is a public course, this again is the cause to the long play times. It's all about money. They get out groups every 6 to 7 minutes, which causes a jam starting at number 3 and never gets any better. Waiting 10 to 15 minutes per hole to tee off and then 10 to 15 to hit your next shot is no fun. Golf diners used to be a bargain for getting food and snacks. Not anymore. Well enough of my ranting... If you do decide to play here. Try to get out early, it may not be so bad. Have fun...
A great venue for events. The view from the patio ,during cocktail hour, over the ocean is spectacular. The food was good and service was fast for a large group. There is a dance floor and adjoining rooms when extra space is needed. This is a great space for weddings, galas and large gatherings.
GOOD GOLF COURSE BUT IT'S ALWAYS BETTER WHEN THE SUN IS OUT EARLY
Small but a nice course
Amazing location. I was able to see a spectacular sun set. Unfortunately I wasn't here to play golf.
Nice staff, fun part three. The course is in ok condition. Expect to have fun, don't come for any serious golf.
Traffic Beautiful landscape excellent condition on course.people all smiles greens a bit fast2-3 holes you read better.wasn't crowded that day.scenery absolutely breathtaking.it was as you could see a mile. Was easy to get there.very little traffic.price is low for what you get to experience.☺☺
beautiful course, slow golf round
Today November 11, we enjoyed the seaview game too much and I lost my wedding ring in the course after I left in the evening (it's a male ring, with both edge surrended by tiny cuts)! It was probably dropped near the club house or the putting practice area. If anyone occassionally finds it please kindly inform us since we are quite upset at the moment. The value of the ring may not be that much, but it was the witness of our marriage in Guam. I truly thank for all people and golfers in this great beautiful lovely course in PV!
Always a great experience
Best public GC in LA countywide nice view and grounds condition.
Love this place. You have to come with your patience, this can be a 6 hour round. I enjoy playing the back 9 in morning, way more fun and best of the two 9s
Gosh playing golf and cold is such an experience because you just want to hit hit hit hit hit and just quit and go home but I really like this place highly recommend. Just make sure that you wear something warm because it is really windy but I don’t think in summer it’s that windy.
Only rating based on looks... On been to driving range thus far.. Place is beautiful, and that's not even the views
Attended a wedding here and the venue was beautiful.
Beautiful gem of PV
You should not be complaining about the pace of play. It's a public course with unbeatable view and hard rock green that slopes toward the ocean. What you should complain is the quality of the men's restroom. It is horrendous, extremely foul smell, wet floor, worse than public restroom anywhere in LA. This has been going on for years. Not sure why you would want to have a wedding in a venue with such horrible toilet.
One of the slowest playing golf courses, often over 6 hours. Too bad, its a good course with great scenery.
For the price and the location it is five star course.. but don't expect 4 hr or 4 1/2 hour round... 5 some are most and many are trying to get exercise by pushing cart.. slow play but for what is worth the course is good condition in middle of July in CA (many are not)
I will give the view and the staffs for 5 stars. The greens at the course is very patchy. Some of the fairway has half of it soil exposed. Also there is only 8 minutes between each group. I felt really rushed when I was playing.
Very good golf course. One of best public golf course.
Nice course with good views.
Great value 4 walkers and breath-taking view of the ocean. Some parches on the side of the fairways, but greens are in good condition
Love this place staff is amazing just do not let one person not make you book with them.. Jackie amazing Greg amazing..
It used to be private course as I heard but the owner wanted everyone to enjoy the view at some of holes (where it has oceanic views) and donated to the city. It's crowded most of time but very reasonable price and its course management is excellent
wonderful ocean breeze
A great course with awesome oceans views. Love to play here. Round can be over 5 hours but the views make up for it.
Lots of parking the people are friendley. Also most important the up keep is great.
3 stars for the ocean views and course condition which is decent for a muni but MY GOD THIS IS THE SLOWEST GOLF COURSE ON EARTH!!! They need to get the marshals out there moving everyone along ASAP. Don’t expect anything less than a 5.5/6hr round.
Great ocean views, very inexpensive for such a golf course.
I played Los Verdes a few years ago. Thought I'd check out the current reviews. Bingo! Same thing now as then: a beautiful course ruined by poor maintenance and agonizingly slow play. I played nearly 4 hours and had to quit after #12 since it was too dark to see the ball. The low cost brings out the hackers, some doing things you've never seen before like laying the club on the ground and stepping on the head to check the launch trajectory. ??? Travelin' Joe in Golf magazine called the pace of play "glacial". Space out tee times, charge a few more bucks, put the money into maintenance and Los Verdes could be a real winner. Otherwise, enjoy the view. You'll have lots of time to do so.
Would rather stick a needle in my arm then go here. I think I was taking advantage of their parking lot. Nah- 1star.
Great public course, with nice view of the ocean on a number of holes.
Top public Golf Course
This venue was B E A U T I F U L
Great location, fun course, challenging greens.
Played with 3 senior ladies who were all dead straight hitters. Finished the round in well under 5 hours. Absolutely awesome weather and the scenery was immaculate. Picked the perfect day without many tourists.
Los Verses G.C.was great! Good ocean breeze
They, like many courses are pandering to people instead of assuring a well ran course. They let any hacker use the blue tees as long as they have $1500.00 clubs and a $500 golf attire. The problem here as with most of LA is the foreigners. They are hackers with no class and respect. They are 3rd world morons and golf like they drive. They drive the ball 170 from the tips and not enough sense to tee it forward. We need Nazis as marshalls and men that can tell these people to kiss their a$$ and pick up their pace or leave.
I went there for an evening wedding and reception. View of the Pacific was awesome. Even the surrounding golfers (no kidding), didn't distract from beautiful outside setting. The sun setting over the wedding party added quite a romantic touch to a beautiful venue.
I just had my wedding at Los Verdes and I recommend it highly as a wedding venue. I am vegan and I was able to bring in my own catering from Whole Foods. We were able to hand select all of our beer and wine which made the wedding FAR more affordable and personalized. Jackie helped us set up everything leading to the wedding. And the day-of coordinator was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I don't know how much they are paying him but it is not enough. He was so warm, friendly, bubbly, organized, on-top-of it. Any time I or my husband (groom) need something to happen at the wedding or had a question for Greg he was RIGHT there with an answer and a huge smile. He sent me down the aisle with a warm smile, a coaching sentence, and lots of butterflies. We are so, so impressed with how well the Los Verdes team (specifically Greg, are you guys getting this? make sure to ask for Greg) took care of our most special day.
Nice course. I will play it again
One of the better and more picturesque muni' s in LA county. Be prepared for a 5 hour round.
Great golf course with nice views of the ocean.
Terrific location, wonderful layout, outstanding vistas, tricky greens, bald sidehill fairways, zero cellular signal, 5.5 hour rounds when you get to follow a 5-some. Thanks, American Golf!
Beautiful golf course. You can start to play before sunrise and rental golf club set just $55
Beautiful views and golf love it.
Horrible upkeep the course in general
Los Verdes is the best county course in LA. the staff is great, the views are majestic, and the price is CHEAP.! yes, it tends to be slower after 10am, but the staff cannot control who's playing. Young beginners or seniors, are all welcome just the same. I rarely have a bad experience on this course, and the new management staff for Golf and Food are doing great. this course is in the BEST shape it's been in, in many years. Now, if you expect Country Club experience, with sub-4 hour rounds, you can always go to Trump Course down the hill for $275/round, or PV Country club for $175/Round, if you can get on. Otherwise, enjoy the price, the experience and the views, and thank the county for keeping this place so affordable... GREAT job Bob and Staff.! Thanks, M.
Attended a wedding here, beautiful views of the ocean and sunset. They have nice grass, I guess. The facilities which I was in were clean and organized.
The view is incredible, nice place to enjoy the scenery and relax. Prices are typical for the hill.
Perfect scenic golf course
Great views, tough course but beatiful views. Lots of dog legs and elevation changes, greens run toward the ocean. Nice place to play.
The customer service at the pro shop and starter box is great. Everyone is very nice. Front 9 went very slow. We had to wait most of the time. The group behind us kept hitting into to us the first 6 holes. There was nothing we can do to hurry up. Everyone else was waiting. We asked the marshall to speak to them. They finally stopped. Maybe just limiting the number of tee times might help.
I really love the golf course the smell of the ocean to hear the birds and the waterfalls it’s beautiful
Beautiful views from this public course. It was foggy the morning we played, but still had good views. The course was straightforward and enjoyable.
Best public course I have been to yet in the South Bay. The view are gorgeous and the greens are in great condition. Overall the course was in great condition as well. Prices are very reasonable for such a nice public course. The one downside to this course is that they push 5-man groups. Prepare to have a 5 hour round here if not longer as a result.
Gorgeous views & course.
The course was in great shape and the greens were fabulous
Why don’t you play golf early morning? After opening darkness, we can see the beautiful landscapes.
Two of us were part of a fivesome last Sunday. We finished as the sun set in just under 7 hours! On Wednesday we tried again. We were part of a foursome that endured 6.5 hours. The beautiful view on the back 9 is the only reason to play it. My golf buddies hate playing here due to the unbelievably slow pace.
(June 2019 update) Bare dirt patches are still too prevalent, even after record rainfall over the winter. Large sections of elephant grass tufts are unacceptable. A friend tried hitting from it and severely damaged his hand. An amazing peninsula golf course with Pebble Beach-like views. Greens are in good shape, but the drought and 30% water reductions really took their toll on the rest of the course. Unfortunately they let fivesomes play and run at 8 minute tee times, which backs the course horribly. Expect tee time delays and lengthy rounds as the day progresses.
You wont be disappointed by this golf course. Extremely scenic and great value for the price.
Great views. It's the most played public course in the US, so it takes far too long to get around. Best to get out there early.
Outstanding views of the ocean. Excellent golf for a county course but a round can go 6 hrs long.
Very pretty venue for the wedding that I attended at this golf course. Grass was very green and the building that we had the reception in was relatively modern and clean
Great ocean views.
This was my first time in Los Verdes golf course and it was great the view was awesome. I will be going to go back again.
Very friendly establishment , great staff ,
Excellent location!!!! Great food.
A Los Angeles Gem!
Google has ruined maps. It's impossible to use with the adds blocking the map. This is terrible I will not use Google maps any longer.
Great views and great value. Careful of those greens though, they defy gravity LOL
Good Muni course. Poor Man's Torrey Pines. Great price. Tip...Greens ALWAYS break toward the ocean. WORTH the price and drive from The OC.
Pretty good course and driving range. Beautiful views. They need to clean up the bathrooms a bit.
Best local course in town
Great place
Nice course, slow play. No marshal in sight. Took 5:30 to play 14 holes. Would be a nice course if managed properly.
Beautiful public course with ocean views.
Very slow pace
