I enjoyed the round. Many elevation changes & great views from elevated tee boxes. Reasonably good condition, & the greens rolled true. A fair test to make shots. Many of the greens were played with easy hippo rtunities to roll off & aqay. As a result, you need to be able to get up & down.

Located alongside the Resort, the Pointe Golf Club on Lookout Mountain, also known as Lookout Mountain Golf Club, rated 3-1/2 stars, is another in Phoenix' abundant collection of challenging and enjoyable desert-style courses. Lookout Mountain provides a scenic starting point for any golfing visit to the Phoenix / Scottsdale area.

This just possibly be the trashiest golf course I have ever played on. Not only was there garbage here and there, but all sorts of dead vegetation - much of it laying in the fairways - on nearly every hole. I was completely embarrassed for my out of state guest to see it. One of them asked me if I thought maybe management didn't care...as if maybe they were soon to go out of business. Who knows? And though the course was challenging, the staff was even more so. My one star rating is over-rated.

Dan M

Awesome course. Love the elevated tee on the 10th hole.

Duane Abbajay

Outstanding conditions and service.

Dee hendrickson

The staff was very unfriendly and the details like water and cups on the holes was less than average. The course was nice but they need to work on service.

Challanging for someone that hasn't played in months, my advise stay on the green stuff or you will be in some serious desert Good luck

Try getting to the pro shop was a maze to find. Then you drive on the street half a mile to get to the practice range. They should have the starter over by the tee box but he's over by the practice range. I wanted to ride in the cart with my husband and the the pro shop charged is $50 plus $4.30 tax on top of that just to ride for a twosome group which was supposed to be a group of 4. There is no GPS in the cart and there is no way to know where to hit for blind shots. Just a terrible course that's a maze never again and will not ever recommend.

Fun place for all ages. Wonderful food and service!

The course is in great shape and the greens are fast. It has beautiful vistas and a sprawling layout. The BEST part was the staff. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful. I have never had such a great wonderful experience when it comes to people working at a golf course. Can't wait to come back here!

Had our wedding reception at the golf course and the venue was absolutely perfect. Wouldn’t have changed a thing, my guests loved taking pictures of the beautiful view and the food was AMAZING! A big shoutout to Angie, Kayla, and Tammy who made our day a breeze and so much fun :)

Horrible experience. The person behind the counter ignored me and my 4-some upon entering as I patiently waited for him to (throw away a piece of paper, grab a pen, check his phone go around the counter and them come back) and them finally said do you have a tee time? Come to find out it was the GOLF PRO... and I asked if he was the only one working (trying to be understanding and polite) and he replied rudely " Yea why?" This course is decent and the other people were polite and we had an ok time. The Golf Pro seriously ruined my experience and through consensus my 4-Some and I will NEVER come back to the course because of how RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL the so called "Golf Pro" was. Even if this was the last place he could find a job and was crying about his situation he shouldn't take it out on the customers.

Michael Cordova

Awesome golf! Will come again.

Stay Away!!!! Golf Course is great management is the opposite. Played a 1/2 a round of golf in February. After been verbally beat down by the cashier to sign my credit card receipt for $295 (for 2) I went out to the first tee. Played the first 9 holes in 4 hours and 5 minutes, then the wheels fell off. The turn was 1 hour back up and 10 & 11 took another 1:15. I am in 4:15 of golf on the 12th tee. This gets worse..... We decide to bail because of Saturday night dinner plans and we passed 3 groups that had 8 golfers each. Starters vanished, management took the money grab from paying customers. When we returned the cart, both employees wanted to clean are clubs and could see the frustration. They both confirmed they were afraid to go inside but told me to dispute the charge on my card, only to follow their directions and Capital One wasted another 8 hours of my time, and the club provided a copy of my sales receipt they so wanted me to sign in the beginning of the round. Sounds like a big scam to me. You should know this was Super Bowl weekend and the Waste Management Open, most courses (the reputable ones) did not have available times. I wish the Hilton was reputable!!! They just wanted the money. This is a course, property and Hotel I will never patronize again. This would be Zero stars but Google requires at least one.

Had a great round here a few weeks back! This was my first golf experience on the west coast and it was awesome. The hills, the views, the lack of trees.... A+. The sheer amount of space for me to still lose the ball... F, but that's more of a reflection of my own poor golfing than of the course, of course. Although we arrived a bit late, carts and bags were ready for us to head towards the range immediately and we were on the first tee within 15 minutes. Once we teed off (poorly), the course brought us all kinds of happiness and sadness; there were hills, dog-legs, beer breaks, cigar breaks, club breaks, balls in yards, long short games, backs thrown, cactus pics... and so much more. Overall, a wonderful day on a beautiful course. I only wish I was better at golf to really challenge the course, instead of the course constantly calling me challenged (not PC, course!). Would love to come back! Protip: you better play all 18. Turning around at 9 is a 3 mile trip back to the clubhouse. Bonus: Cool little clubhouse bar to laugh about your game or kill some time before your tee time

Nice golf course, fair price. Staff from beginning to end were great. Fairways are in good condition. Greens ran fast but true. Large driving range, putting green right next to 1st tee box to be ready. Awesome views from some of the elevated tee boxes. Go play it, you won't regret it

We played at 8:50 AM on Sunday, June 2 and the course was in absolutely phenomenal shape. The restaurant/bar got us our food and drinks quickly so we could grab a bite before we teed off. We were in and out of the pro shop in just a couple of minutes, and the woman at the bag drop was on her game and excellent. We played the first eight holes in just about two hours, which I feel like is very reasonable, but in between our tee shot on the ninth hole and arriving at the ninth green which is a short par three, the marshal came up to us and told us we were 12 minutes behind and two full holes behind. This was complete and utter nonsense. My friends and I are very solid golfers who play throughout the valley at great courses every Sunday morning and never have we been behind, or held anyone up, under any circumstance. This Marshall took it upon himself, even though nobody was being held up and was at least a half hole behind us, to tell us that we were behind schedule. This ruins the last 9 1/2 holes for us. When we teed off on the 18th tee box there was nobody on the 17th hole so the need for us to increase pace of play was absolutely zero. After the 10th Teebox we remained a full hole and a half a head of the group behind us for the duration of the round. It is a second shot golf course as well as a grind on and around the greens, so expect to take a little more time if you’re trying to shoot a solid score. I was so angry after the encounter with the Marshall, as well was my group, that everything was rushed and not enjoyable for the rest of the round. The pro shop was excellent, the food and beverage service was excellent, but the one Marshall completely ruined my morning and early afternoon. Don’t be afraid of the course, it was in absolutely perfect condition from tee to green, but just keep in mind that you’ll have to play fast and not try to grind out a score if you want to enjoy your round. My apologies for any typos, I am using talk to text.

Crowded on a Sunday morning with several events going on. Pro shop and cart crew were outstanding! The course was great. Starter attempted to keep spacing, however course marshals allowed play to back up. In spite, we finished in just under 4hr.

James Howells

Love this course, beautiful views, well maintained, and very challenging. The staff is always super friendly, the bar is a great place to grab a drink and some good food after your round.

My wife and I just played a round here today. The course was in great condition. Fairways were lush and green and the greens were fast and true. The views are second to none. The starter was one of the best I have encountered. He was friendly, funny and very helpful providing us with accurate directions. Yes it is a bit of a travel from the pro shop to the course but it's not an inconvenience. Great driving range with all the balls you want to hit. Friendly staff all around. Every one who works here looks like they enjoy their jobs... nice to see! We will be returning here on our next trip to Phoenix

martin king

Beautiful course. Links style dessert golf. Greens are great and fast. Nice views and people are very nice.

One star facilities, one star course conditions, less than one star service.... i had wanted to play this course for a long time, and will never again... the old guy that looked like mario at the bag drop didnt take my bag from me, didnt offer to clean my clubs after the round, didnt advise us to "stock up now" because there wasnt a beverage cart, didnt advise us that if we wanted a bucket of balls to grab them now because they werent on the range... he clearly didnt want to be at work, hes that type of person that is taking a job from someone who actually wants to work... i worked in the service industry for a long time, both bag drop and serving, i generally tip big because i remember those times... not this time. The course was rock hard, greens were like cement, dry and dead spots from the tips to the greens... i was beyond unimpressed, the "service" set the tone.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had on a golf course since I started playing 10+ years ago. Horrible food, horrible service, horrible conditions and the course employees were unengaged and unaccomodating. If this was the last golf course on the planet, I would simply give up golf.

nice course and some good elevation changes which was different than the other 3 courses we played on our trip. a few quirky holes like the short par 3 on the front. i would still recommend but would probably try other courses before going back.

My wife and I really enjoyed this course. The course is challenging and a lot of fun. The fairways and greens are kept up very well and the views are spectacular on many of the tee boxes and greens. Its courses like this that make playing golf so much fun and peacefully enjoyable that more than make up for the miserable places in sun city and glendale like the pueblo el mirage where we will never ever golf again and strongly recommend that people stay away from. Anyway, Look out mountain will always be the place where my wife and I will escape to for that resort golf getaway place. Mr.& Mrs. Vaughn

Nobody in the foursome I play with had played there yet, I got a good price from GolfNow, so we thought we'd play a round there. I go to check in at the Pro-Shop, and after politely waiting for the guys behind the counter to finish their story about what they had done the night before, one of the guys checks me in and takes my money as if I'm interrupting his story time. He tells me I can pick up my cart by where I came in, then goes back to story time with his buddy. I didn't really think much of it and went to the range, which was OK despite the 50's music blaring over the PA system (even on the 1st tee). Again I didn't really get too upset, we teed off and started our round. Since we had never been there before, and have played a few courses with no "cart girl" or one that you only see once during a round, we each brought one beer and a Gatorade. The cart girl runs into us at the 4th or 5th hole, says we can't have the beer, takes them and pours them out on the spot. Again, we understood, most places have that policy, so we didn't put up a fuss and kept on playing. At the turn we each bought a beer from the cart girl, gave her a larger than usual tip and played on. At hole 16 the cart girl pulls up and says we have to leave the course because she found a beer can in the garbage at hole 7 and assumed it was ours. However, she did say that we could finish the last couple of holes if she could search our bags and if she didn't find any more beer. We let her look, she didn't find anything and we finished our round. I liked the layout of the course. It wasn't in great shape, but it was OK. We will be going back. If they are going to be that strict on the "no outside beverages" policy, maybe the guy in the Pro-Shop should save story time for off-duty and warn new visitor about the strict enforcement.

Read reports about how good the course was, but issues with course management. All I can say is that I found both excellent, only niggle was the lack of watering facilities between holes as I'm not used to playing golf in temperatures of 109f.

Really enjoyed this course and it was a reasonable cost to play. A nice layout, scenic, with plenty of room in the landing areas. Looks a little tight from some veiws but there is more room than you think. No GPS on the cart and app dosen't seem to work very well. You can get the general idea from the app but we gave up after using for a few holes. Layout is easy enough to figure out with not using it. This will be added to the golf list for this area when we return.

I've played Lookout Mountain Golf Club several times, but have never written a review. The course is SO much fun, offers a wide range of shots and shot types, and the course is always in great shape. The fairways are pure, the greens hold and are smooth, and the pace of play is always on point. The staff is great, too, from the guys in the golf shop to the player's assistant on the course. Just an enjoyable and memorable experience from start to finish. Oh, and 10 tee... What a great hole! It doesn't get much better than the experience you will have at Lookout Mountain Golf Club.
