Course was in great shape. However customer service was less than par. No water on course. No beverage cart. My partner and I was in bad shape after 9. Seemed like we were a bother to everyone. Won't be back. Was told they are cutting hours to save money?? Course was full. How much $$$ did they lose?

I give a 3 star solely based on what you get for your money. It's a nice course just not a $120 a round. Their sister course over at craft farms is about $30 to $40 cheaper to play and in a lot better shape. The tee boxes here I'd rate 3 at best, fairways 4.5, rough (no grass very spotty and sandy) I give a 2. Greens challenging just not in great shape 3.5. I'd play hear again, not for anything close to $100 though.

Course was nice and the staff seemed friendly until the whole experience turned sour ....a grounds manager or someone along those lines came up to my gf and I on hole 8 of the lakes course and said play a few holes twice take your time bc the grounds crew is up ahead working and at this rate you'll catch them I said "sounds good just tell the two women behind me bc they have been right behind us all morning!" ( They were members of course) so what ensued was I never even got a chance to play any hole twice and when I did try and slow my play the two women were hitting balls within yards of me on the fairway!!!! When I finally had enough and with there balls withing talking distance these women proceeded to complain about slow play! Overall it was a bad experience bc it was constant chaos after the first nine....grounds people everywhere standing in the way being rude and running equipment by the tee boxes. Seems like a like of organization for a golf course that charges what they do!! I will not return seeing how I'm on vacation and wanted to enjoy a peaceful round of golf and I ended up dealing with rude members and grounds keeping crew then to top it off an unorganized staff!

The two courses that we played were outstanding. The staff is first class. We will be back.

When I come to the Gulf Shores, my first choice of places to play golf is Peninsula Golf Club. With 27 holes in rotation, the venue offers a variety of experiences. Courses are well-maintained. Greens are fast and accurate. On-site restaurant is convenient and comfortable. Staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

What a great experience we had Sunday, July 15th. We were celebrating My son's engagement. The food was delicious. There wasn't a thing that we didn't like. Candice, the event planner, did a spectacular job accommodating us. She went above and beyond helping me with the menu. We were all from out of town and anytime I had a question, I emailed her and she responded very promptly. She even helped serve the delicious appetizers. Candice and her staff made everything look just beautiful and made us all feel comfortable and well taken care of. I didn't have to worry about a thing. We had the venue for 4 hours so we were able to take pictures and visit with family and the new bride to be and her family too! Thank you Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club and especially Candice!

I'm beyond disappointed in my visit to peninsula. I've never played a course in my life that gave zero information on the course. Nothing on the scorecard showing a map or hole layout, nothing on the cart, nothing on the tee boxes. This leaves you with no information on where to drive, aim and also hidden peril We're not talking about a low level course either, this round cost over $90. I won't be back.

It was great experience driving range was free

Golfing at Peninsula is always a pleasure, whichever of the three picturesque, natural and scenic nine-hole loops you choose to play. The green-keeping is first-rate, with the Marsh, Lakes and Cypress nines always presented in tip-top condition. The slightly elevated greens are usually guarded by relatively shallow bunkers, grassy run-off areas, and many enjoy a majestic back-drop of impressively tall pines.

My son and I came to The Peninsula to play a twosome. There were other twosomes on course but we were put with another another twosome . I am not that good of a golfer and it was embarrassing. We only played 9 holes for 70.00 each.

Update 11/17/2015-- I wanted to update my post to reflect the Positive Experience I have had since since Management focused on the problem. The feedback I am getting is that the Honours Corporate HR has been involved and that while the employee was not terminated, a corrective action plan is in place to insure that Peninsula is the safe and enjoyable golf course that it is intended to be. In addition, the General Manager at Peninsula has provided a complimentary round for my entire group of 20. Our plan is to play Peninsula as part of our annual golf event in 2016. I am Satisfied with the way that Peninsula has addressed the issue. Original Post- I was cursed out and threatened by a Turf Management employee on a mower during my morning round at Peninsula on Friday October 31st, 2015. The General Manager there is aware of the issue but did not deal with the situation to my satisfaction. In fact, I think I was intentionally mislead as to the actions he took in order to mollify me. That is also unacceptable. The employee did not follow Standard Protocol in managing his machine(did not turn it off so he could hear approaching golfers) and then Cursed me out ..to Quote “FUXX You AXXHOLE, YELL FOUR…(which I did but he could not hear) after I accidentally hit the mower (not him) with my second shot on a par five. When I approached him to express my concern with his behavior.. He then stated a couple times..to Quote… "IF I GET OFF THIS MOWER, I AM GOING to FUXX YOU UP SOO BAD”… After a heated conversation he then drove off recklessly almost rolling over me with the machine. This event ruined my round and had a direct effect on the round of those with me and the results of my entire group. (20 paying customers) At a minimum they should have comped our round or offered us a replay. Not sure what kind of employee background checks are performed at Honours Golf but I would keep an eye out for workers on mowers.

We visited back in June and the greens were in fantastic shape. The views were gorgeous and we really enjoyed our round. Even though we had a slight issue with one of the neighbors, it was quickly addressed by the GM, Chad Leonard, so that spoke volumes for us. Definitely recommend Peninsula for "vacation golf."

Very impressed with the conditions on all three golf courses. One of the few places on the Alabama Gulf Coast where you get a coastal feel to your golf experience, really great service and I love their Pro-Shop! Looking forward to the next visit. Don't forget to ask for your free cookie!

Jake Medina

Me and my dad played today and from the pulling in to the parking lot till the moment we left great staff and great course

Good food and service in club. Great view of course and driving range. Reasonable rates after 3pm, and we finished 18 holes in 3 hours flat! Fairways were immaculate, but the greens a bit bumpy.

Scott Wells

Got the double play and played back to back days. Had early am tee times. First day was paired with a twosome and second day solo. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Courses were in excellent condition. Played from blue tees first day and struggled a bit. Mainly because of my drive not being up to par. Played whites second day and had much better and enjoyable experience. Cold apples on 1st tees, towels in carts, and saw beverage cart both days. Overall very positive experience. Would highly recommend.
