Once they put some money into it, it will be a 5 star course again.. It's a shadow of its once greatness. Greens have fungus, bunkers full of grass, tall weeds in the uncut rough but fairways are still in good shape.. it's an excellent layout but until new managment renews everything it only deserves 2 stars.

Course is an awful shape. Course is dry as a bone. Prices are outrageous. Greens are in bad shape. Sand traps are unplayable. There aren’t any 150 yard markets. The yardages on sprinklers and the concrete blocks on the tees do not tell you that those measurements are to the front of the green. Also, the course needs to use a colored tee system so that you can actually find the tees that you want to play. Overall, very disappointed that this course has gone way downhill in every way possible.

Good golfing experience

Mixed feelings. At one time, one of the top courses in the state, and certainly my favorite. Played today for the first time in a while, and although the course is nice, it is NOT the experience and condition that it once was. It appears that they are working hard, but the edges are a bit rough. Greens good, but slow. Carts have been allowed to go almost anywhere. It's a bit like the local good ol' boys have taken over. I played behind 4 groups of 5 apiece, playing their own ball. Took about 4:40 to play 18 as a single. No chance of playing through or an offer to. Should not have 5somes. Staff was nice, decent food. Fortunately, I came on a Monday for a $50 rate. If it was weekend it would have been $90! Tough to justify driving an hour from Hoover. I will play here again, but not motivated to try again quickly.

Nestling in a valley between two ridges of tree-covered hills, the up-market residential development of Limestone Springs can boast a championship golf course that is a delight from first to last. With unobtrusive villas skirting only a few holes, the course retains all the naturalness and tranquillity of this Appalachian foothills environment.

Beautiful golf course. Nearly every hole is a photo op. Start hole one from the tips if you can. Great elevated view. They had a wedding on the tee box the night before we arrived due to the view. The course is not crowded so it is one of those secret gems you feel fortunate to find. Forgiving fairways. Great golf experience. I am looking forward to golfing there again. It was worth the drive.

Stayed in the cabins here for a golf weekend, great accommodations and easy access to the course. Course felt like it would have fit in with the Robert Trent Jones courses, well kept and nice layout.

Good golf course. Friendly, after talking to locals, it had not been maintained like in the past. I would return tho. I went in October and if you play there, bring gnat spray.

"Limestone Springs has also been consistently rated 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest’s Places to Play, ranked in the top five public golf courses in Alabama by GolfWeek, and named to America’s Top Golf Courses by Zagat Survey"

Linda Raylene Sparks

Beautiful place and a fantastic course. Wonderful management and staff

Steven Banks

Beautiful scenery and layout, but the worst golf course I've ever played. Nothing but weeds on the tees and fairways and they don't even mow them. Fairways were as tall as the rough. Greens had dead patches all over them. Paid $60 to play and it was probably worth about $15.

Randy Carroll

A great layout with a friendly staff. They don't appear to have enough financial support to take care of it.

This review hurts me to write because this course used to be one of my favorites in the Birmingham area. But that is just simply not the case anymore for this course. $70 +cart on a Tuesday is a totally rip off. The greens on October 24 where so bad and the fairways had been cut but the clippings left in the fairway. For this price point go to farm links or any of the Trent Jones trails. Sad how far this course had fallen

This is a beautiful place with upscale environment and friendly staff. They were incredibly busy, but made me feel like I was the most important person in the room. I don't play golf, but am seriously considering picking up the sport just to have an excuse to come back here on a regular basis.

Great employees, great fun!

Love this place! Awesome!

Skylar Nelson

Legit. But also legit in the middle of nowhere. No cell service.

Chris Sakaguchi

Not as bad as some recent reviews indicated, but not what it once was. Greens are coming back and the poa has been treated. Give it a few more weeks and it should be better. Bunkers are atrocious but hey, not suppose to hit it there! A little more TLC and this course could be great again.

This is hands down one of if not the best golf course in the entire state of Alabama.

Turf was nice and soft, a little on the pricey side but is a must play for Blount County. Great course on a hot day, lots of shade and water coolers we're frequent (our trip was 93 degrees). We will return here through the heat of the summer.

One of my fav's, bunkers were sketchy the last time l played there. People are great and course layout is great.

Kerry Holeton

Greens need some TLC Rough area could be better kept Bunkers need to be redone

First time ever posting a review on google. This golf course is horrible. Fairways are nothing but weeds. Rough is nothing but weeds. It’s impossible to play the ball down out there. Bunkers have no sand on the lips. Some bunkers have grass growing in them. Some have liners showing. Greens have dead spots all over every green. Some tee boxes are nothing but weeds. Some have no grass. Members still act like the course is still in prime shape. Paid $25 to play there and still felt like I overpaid.

The overall experience was a bit of let down because I had heard so many good things about this course. I traveled more than an hour away as well as the friends I invited and was pretty embarrassed by the conditions of the greens. I could see how this place would be beautiful if it was well maintained but every green had some sort of sun damage or grass issues. The temporary greens were not even cut so it was as if you were putting in the rough. The water coolers had no ice and we never once saw a cart asking if we wanted anything. Im writing an honest review so that others won't have the same bad experience that I did. I hope they fix things because the overall scenery is beautiful
