Great RTJ complex. Two courses to choose from, both with challenging layouts. Price was affordable and staff was very friendly. The only downsides were the kitchen closes pretty early and the locker rooms are kind of dated.

Decent RTJ site. Highlands is better cared for than the River. Short course is alot of fun. Counter help can be less than friendly at times. Check the maintenance schedule before you play.

I get to Huntsville about once a year and CAN'T WAIT to get to Hampton Cove. This year I was fortunate enough to play two days, so played the River Course one day and the Highlands the next. I have played two other RTJ places in Alabama in the past. Value = Outstanding. It is rare to play this quality of course for what they charge, and that is for non-resident. The trail is like a finely run franchise, you know exactly what you will get when you arrive. In my opinion, the courses I have played including this one are run very well. The staff is professional and efficient. Even though both of these courses play only about 6100 from the whites, beware or you will get bit. Great green speed and plenty of hazards so that you best not fall asleep.

There are actually three courses at this facility: The River, The Highlands, and the Short Course (a par 3 course). My preference is The Highlands course. On weekend mornings this course gets pretty backed up.

I was out in AL for work, finished early one day and looked to play some golf. Jumped online and found Hampton Cove. BEST choice ever ! I needed to rent clubs, and they loaned me a VERY nice set of clubs ! The staff was EXTREMELY courteous, even picked me up at my car in the parking lot. Great job over there everyone, HIGHLY recommend playing if you are ever in Huntsville. Great job Hampton !

One of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever seen. You need to play it if you get the opportunity. If you are new to the golf world, the golf pros are very kind and offer reasonably priced lessons.

Very nice course! Only one complaint, will get into that later. When we pulled in, there was plenty of room to park. Yes, the parking lot is a little distance from the clubhouse but if you pull around, there is someone to take your clubs and out them in a cart for you, you don't have to lug them across the parking lot, so it's not an issue. Now, my complaint: When my husband paid, Shelby failed to tell him that a Robert Trent Jones Golf Card was available for purchase. We paid 162.08 to play 18 holes today. A Robert Trent Jones golf Card cost $39.95 per person = $79.90 for both of us. With that card, we could have played 18 holes for $41.95 each = $83.90 for both of us. This means we would have paid a total of $163.80, instead of $162.08. But, we could have played the rest if 2019 for only $41.95, instead of $81.04. Shelby REALLY should have explained that to us! We will not be back this year but will invest in a card next year so we can play the whole year at the discounted price. They have three different courses at this location. The Short course (don't let the name fool ya), the Highlands and the River Course. Today, we played the River Course. It was an amazing, fun course with breathtaking views!! The greens did have a lot sand on them and were extremely fast, but it hasn't rained here in some time. There is a courtesy cart that rolls around in case you want to purchase drinks or snacks (no outside food or drink is allowed here). We seen them twice during the 18 holes, so they do come around enough. There is one bathroom on the course. It is between holes 8 and 12, so you are able to use twice. When you finish the 9th hole, you will play straight into the 10th hole. You will not see the clubhouse until you are finished with all 18 holes, so keep that in mind. They set the tee times 10 minutes apart. We were behind (waiting on) a group of four the whole time and there was a group of two waiting on us the whole time. We went to the clubhouse for lunch. They have a great menu with a variety of items ranging from hotdogs to crabc sandwiches. I had the chicken tenders (average frozen chicken tenders) and fries. Husband had two hotdogs and the fries. He said one would have been enough, they were pretty good size and very tasty! The food was hot, the service was okay and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, this was a great place and a wonderful course! I would recommend to anyone!!!

I don't golf, but I own a home on the fifth hole...the Barn. One of the golfers hit a ball into one of my windows, and then promptly took off when I called out to them. The Golf Course management's response, was that it is my problem, not theirs. Nice.

I played the river course on 12/28/2016. I loved the layout, and other than most of the grass being brownish in color the course was in fantastic shape. My girlfriend joined me as a ride along and I was not charged for her, which was a nice surprise. This is the best place I've played in North Alabama, hands down.
