REVIEWS OF Western Gardens West Valley IN Utah

James Dawson

This place is pretty awesome as far as Utah greenhouses go. They don't have anything for hydroponic setups or even hydrocorn at a minimum...but nobody seems to out here so that's ok. :) I come here often...i usually know what I'm looking for but I'm sure the people could be helpful if needed. :)

Korrine Roth

jean bond

Jeremy Hill

I called around for the best price on Asian pear and ended up at western gardens, I have been there a few times to get mostly fruit plants and they are always healthy and transplant well.

Jacob Clark

Vaughn

I am giving this review not because Western Garden's doesn't have some of the best products and service for plants and planting but how they treat their customer service employees. First ever visit a few months back in the swelter of July. Employees are required to work in the oppressive heat of the greenhouse which existing swamp coolers are insufficient to even minimally cool. These employees are required to work in stagnant, extreme temperatures we would not expose our children or pets to for fear of their expiring. How can it be humane to expect humans to work in such oppressive conditions. It is not humane. Some people treat their pets better than these poor employees are treated. The Western Garden's facility in Sandy that folded, had a facility that provided excellent working temperatures at least those visible to the consumers. I hope this facilities management changes their operating procedures. It is not OK to treat your employees, or an human or animal this way.

Plants are lovely grown... with tons of selections.. Friendly and Helpful Staff. Prices are good.. The Place is very well managed!

Trevor Morgan

They have a great variety of plants. They have the best variety of seeds I've seen. I bought quite a few. I got one that was called "Strawberry Spinach". Apparently it's spinach but also makes berries that are like mullberries. I can't wait to see how they turn out. The staff is awesome too. They are really friendly every time we go there.

Lorry Norton

They usually have great plants, but the canna lilies looked horrible. Kind of disappointing.

Benjamin Noffsinger

Josh Dewey

Great advice and customer service. A excellent place for local hearty seeds and vibrant seedlings.

Very helpful staff and large selection of plants, shrubs, trees, vegetables they seem to have a variety of everything. They helpped coach is on how to plant a variety of plants and be successful with the growth and longevity of them. Prices are very reasonable and competitive with other comparable stores. Will be going back to make additional purchases and coaching for future garden improvements.

I bought a Crimson Spire Oak from Western Gardens. To be honest I don’t know a lot about trees so I did a lot of research and decided this would be a good tree for my needs. I bought one tree from Western Gardens and two from J & J. At first I was disappointed in the trees from J & J as they were half the height as the tree from Western Gardens. Now that the trees have been in for 1 ½ years I realize the trees from J & J are way superior. These trees are much stronger and do not need staking. The tree from Western Gardens I believe was grown to look good to an unknowing customer like me. This tree was grown to “look good” and was way too tall for its root ball. For the tree to stand straight it needs support all the way to the top. I am not sure this tree will ever be strong enough and worry that it may one day break. Now I have to decide if I pull it out and throw away an expensive tree. I am very disappointed that Western Gardens would sale this tree. My two trees from J & J are doing well. Although not as tall as the other their trunks are larger and the trees look much better than the drooping one I got from Western Gardens. I would avoid Western Gardens. This tree was grown to look good and make money but will not serve for my needs. I called Western Gardens and they offer no help other than to imply that I want a perfect tree. No I just want a tree that does not need to be staked for the rest of it life and grow straight.
